That woman who took action is a trooper. I was gonna cry, she was so protective. Hearing her say that a baby was given scotch is just... That's horrific. That woman was absolutely amazing in what she did. This show helps repair my faith in humanity.
When I was about 4 I was temporarily put in foster care my foster parents were only in it for the money and didn't take care of me properly I vaguely remember we would go to these sort of public speaking events that lasted hours whenever I would start to complain or get upset they would make me eat these pink gummies that looked like berries. I would always get sleepy and then wake up in the car after. years later I saw them advertised as chewable sleeping pills
This has messed me up for years I'm still somewhat traumatized

This reminds me of a story my dad once told me. My older brother was being babysat by a then family friend when he was three years old and was a bit ill at the time. The woman was trying to get him to go to sleep. After a while my brother couldn’t stay asleep for more than an hour or so, so she got the idea to give him one of her prescribed sleeping pills. He ended up being asleep for three straight hours, so my dad asked her what did she do to get him to sleep, she said she gave him one of her VERY high dosage prescribed sleeping pills. My dad then took him to the doctor and the doctor said if it had been even one higher dosage than it was my brother would’ve immediately gone into a comma and not woken up.

Absolutely. When I was 15, I was at the mall, with my cousin, her kids who at the time were 2 and 8 and my aunt. We had just had a long day of shopping but the toddler was still pretty hyper, so we were playing at the indoor play area, with her, when I noticed a little girl sitting all alone sobbing her heart out. My cousin's a teacher, my aunt is a retired special ED teacher and instantly all of our alarms were raised. We were the only ones who weren't kids there. There was just my cousins kiddo's and this sweet little girl crying. I went over, knelt beside her and asked if she was okay and she said her mommy was gone and she didn't know where she was. My cousin and aunt went into teacher mode and asked questions, my aunt went to go get a security guard and my cousin and I both agreed, that we couldn't leave that sweet little girl alone.
She wound up sitting with me the whole time, the security guard was looking for her mom, when a woman ran up, arms full of bags...
She had ditched her kid at this spot, where there were signs all over saying don't leave your kids alone, so she could go to the Macy's upstairs.
The guard tore into her, my aunt tore into her, my cousin tore into and I tore into her. We all couldn't believe how irresponsible she was! My aunt told her: "Your lucky this isn't the big city, she wouldn't have still been here!"
Needless to say, we didn't leave until we saw them leave together to be sure she wasn't gonna do it again. Maybe overkill on our part, but kids can disappear in the blink of an eye. Who sticks up for those kids?

Just because he didn't get emotional doesn't mean he didn't / wasn't gonna do anything. His more involved wife took control but if she wouldn't have been there you can tell that man would've called the police.

It’s not just outside carers though even parents do horrible things to their kids.
I bet you it is rare it will ever be done in public places. In my situation my mother had my arm twisted up my back with her nails into my vein hard to hurt me while she hid it by her body while chatting to lady at reception in a post office.
Even today no one ever know any abuse done to a child as it’s all done in privacy or hidden from sight.
When the both screamed it is our business I cried. That's the kind of people I want to live around. God bless them.

This hits close to home. This happened to my youngest with a babysitter once (she was an adult friend of our family with kids of her own who watched my two kids for two hours twice a week when I was in a night class). My youngest (6 at that time) has mild Autism, and needed a small dose of Melatonin each night to go to sleep. I gave her the pills for each week, she just needed to give them to him right before I'd pick him up, so he'd be ready for bed when we got home at 8:30. Every time I'd pick him up, he'd not only be asleep, but unable to wake up, which Melatonin doesn't do. My oldest was the one to spill the beans on her after the first two weeks. She wasn't giving them to him...she was giving him and her own children adult size doses of adult cold medicine right after dinner. My oldest (he was 10) wasn't given it because she'd have him clean up after dinner, wash the dishes, then sit silently on the couch til I got there. It proves that even if you know someone for years, you can actually not know them. When I confronted her, she defended it, saying it was normal to do this, her mom did it to her and her siblings growing up. She actually was angry at me. I called Child Protective Services on her, never spoke to her after that. I've seen her kids since, all of them are grown now, they don't speak to her either now. I mean, I get using a sleep aid, I used one for a couple years (a natural one) for my youngest...but drugging kids? no.
