Exactly!! I was just thinking about myself how I want everything to be perfect, then by that I’ll be having a cold falafel sandwich instead of a hot one 🤣
Hello and thank you! I love your style of teaching us how to make Falafel. I am from Latin America and I love Falafel. I appreciate how well you prepared it and I am so glad you shared it with so many who also enjoy it. You invited us into your kitchen and went straight to the point. You demonstrated the process in such a simple and clear way.
You cannot beat seeing a “Mummy/Momma” in the kitchen, sharing their family favourites that have been enjoyed for decades. I LOVE how she just dives in at the end. Bless her heart. What a wonderful Lady. 💖💖💖
🌼Yes, she's beautiful. Love her earthy rustic family style. Carmela makes me wanna take risks in kitchen w/o fear of failure hanging over head. She may give a scold, but she equally seems as likely to console you if you messed up too. 🌼 🍴FALAFEL is my all time favorite dish across the board. Can't wait to try this method. Bless you❣ 🍅CW: Looked like cabbage to me. Holds up better than iceberg anyway. Use what want.
Lovely, clear & straightforward instructions in a real home kitchen ❤️ I’m going to try using an ice cream scoop to form & drop them into the oil. “Oh, yummy, Bon appetite!”
I’m retired, came from meddle East falafel was famous in Arabic coffee shop. Love it. Now I’m back home 🏠 no one knows falafel. Thank you so much for your recipe very clear instructions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓👍🏻 I made it it was perfect 👌😘😘😘😘
I'm sorry , didn't get my text cleaned up before i sent it. Keep urging your mom to do this. Is there a substitute for cilandro, i can smell it & it gives me a terrible headache, i have cluster headaches & many things affect me but not other people.
I love your videos! They are so real as opposed to the fancy ones that skip steps to look more attractive. The beauty of a recipe video is the actual work and not the finished product! Thank you!
I loved this video. She used regular spoons and wasn't so exact that it was intimidating. You can tell she's made this a million times and it always comes out awesome. I also loved that when she was ready to eat she was like video over. Lol.
Congratulations! It takes a lot of time and preparation - and courage- to make a video. You can tell she has been doing this all her life. She does it by heart! No measurements. Keep it up.
Thank you so much! I love that your instructions are easy, direct and to the point! I also love that you included the information on how you can freeze the mixture before or after you cook the falafel. I was looking all over the internet to try and find that information. This recipe will make too much for just me and my husband so I appreciate knowing I can freeze the mixture. I'm going to make your recipe today! Can't wait to try them! OH! and thanks for including how to assemble the falafel sandwich. We're going to make homemade pita to go with your falafel! I'm going to make your recipe today. Can't wait to try them!
I tried making falafel last night using your recipe. Didn't have parsley, used coriander leaves instead. It turned out so good and delicious. Thank you so much for sharing 😘
I'm so pleased yo be watching. Both my daughter and myself used to buy this when shopping in our local market from a lady who made it fresh every Saturday. Thznk you do much for this video.
Thank you for your easy to follow steps, I am going to try to create these dishes at home. Whenever I try any of this food in a restaurant, they are so gorgeous and tasty.
Omg, where ever you're from, there's something special about mum in the kitchen. I watched this and it brought me back to my childhood, my mum teaching me how to cook. She would never use an actual measuring cup😅. Videos like these make me realize that we're more alike than we even know.
Looking for a falafel recipe and this was the best. I’m not at all a falafel expert but the technique of grinding the beans first, then the herbs, THEN combining by hand makes so much sense! Everyone else does it all in the food processor. I’m trying this. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. Truly cooking from the heart. I have made this recipe and it is the best! Stuffed into a pita pocket with a chopped Greek salad and tahini sauce is out of this world. You guys need to try this. I used whole cumin and coriander seeds that I toasted in a skillet then ground in a coffee grinder. I fried them all up and froze... then just reheated in a oven at 250F for about 20 minutes.
Looks amazing! Definitely like how you blended the ingredients individually to protect the integrity/consistency of each. The fresh veggie blend and tahini were legit as well. Probably making this tomorrow 😁😋, thanks for sharing.
I made them and had them for dinner tonight, it's Sunday 6/16/19. They were very good and I'm so glad I have 2 zip lock bags in the freezer. A nice dinner with a salad. 🌷💜🙋
Cooking is about watching as much as it is following a recipe. I'm South American, and I learned to cook by eye, only because there is no recipe. Everyone will have a different take on the same recipe. Its called watch your mom. 😄 . I have seen many people make videos on Falafel and I always come back to this one. Thank you!
What great instructions! I just tasted falafels for the first time about a month ago and want to make for myself. Thanks so much for this wonderful video!
Normally I don’t comment but i have to say thank you! I have been looking for a falafel recipe for a long time, but they are all complicated, this one it’s simple and easy! I’ll be subscribing to your channel!
Wow... I really just learned *so much* watching this video! I always wondered how falafels get that particular shape... and now I see that special tool and how well it works. I've also wondered what spices are in them that make them taste so good, and amazingly, every one of these spices are spices I like! (I am *very* picky and dislike many spices, like dill and cloves and strong oregano, but I LOVE cumin and ground coriander, which has a nice lemon-y scent and flavour). I always thought you had to cook the chick peas after you soak them, but I see that that is not necessary -- after all, they cook as you fry them. You didn't mention whether the main vegetable you used to make the salad was iceberg lettuce or green cabbage -- it looks like cabbage, but I'm sure either would be fine; you really just need something fresh and crunchy. I'm thinking of using diced red pepper in place of the tomatoes, as I am allergic to raw tomatoes. I really appreciate your explanation about freezing half the mixture, and the importance of not adding the baking soda to the half you'll be freezing in a ziploc bag. And the ending was perfect: How can you trust a chef who doesn't taste their own food? I love it when a cooking demo includes eating at the end. Thanks for your video Carmela! ~Diana K.
I add peeled fava beans into the mix ,it makes a lot of difference in the taste also I use both parsley and coriander, and I roll the falafel into sesame seeds before frying 😋

Oh my looks so good! Looks just the way they used to make them in New York where I am from originally. Need to make some. I make them pretty much the same way you do. I have been told in the past to use chickpeas and fava beans together. Will try chickpeas by themselves next time probably cheaper thank you

Esp with the cutting of the onions... I thought I had it on 1.5x speed 👀
Haha true
You are so natural.... and your food is amazing
My falafel always falls apart in oil. Basically dissolves and turns to mush. What am I doing wrong?
Reminds me of my mother. Love her working hands, her outfit, her cooking style, and her advice.
So this is how it is REALLY supposed to be done?
@@vancepleasant9525 Yes this is Authentic. I lived in the country of Egypt for 7 years in Beni Suef and made this a lot.
