i am Romanian and ive visited the castle several times, its only a 2 hour by train trip from where i live. Its truly a beauty, although different in style from other european castles. Its interesting that is visited mostly by foreign tourists and less by romanians. Its also touching to see a foreign documentary about it, especially because romanian youtube channels, television and tourism companies are not interested in it. Maybe because after the comunism era most people lost touch with the royalty beautiful contributions to this country. What i would say though that this documentary lacks is the breathtaking view of the castle from the outside and the beautiful hand painted walls that can be seen from the interior courtyard. They are a fairy tale beauty.

This castle looks amazing on film, however, seeing it in person is breathtaking. I saw the palace in 1991 or 1992 when Romania started reopening to tourists. We were skiing in Sinaia but spent most of our days taking in the history of this area. Sinaia was once a stopping point for the rich and famous, in its golden days, it was on the route of the old orient express. It had a magnificent Casino similar to Monte Carlo, an amazing hotel called the Palace Hotel & it has a Monastery. It is well worth a visit.

I'm literally gobsmacked, awestruck, and stunned on how beautiful this castle is. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live in something so grand and beautiful. The talent of those who hand carved the wood, those who made the linens, the table settings, the decorations, statues, the steamed heating units in the corner of the rooms, and on and on. I'd love to spend a weekend walking through this castle without being rushed. You certainly don't see such grand buildings now. There is no pride in the cookie cutter copy cat homes of today. It's just slam bam thank you ma'am dealings. I hate it. I LOVE all the European castles and grand buildings of the 17th and 18th century.

Y'all have no idea how beautiful this country is, how nice the people are, and how much they love grits too!! (Mamaliga) Actually, Romania is one of the most pro-USA of all the EU countries (fun fact). The Carpathian mountains (a major spruce source for acoustic guitar snobs) are every bit as beautiful as the Alps in Switzerland. If you can survive the insanely aggressive drivers in Buchurest, you are in for a real treat in the countryside as well! Multumesc, y'all! :)
