      Yes, the gentleman-of-the-castle seems to have that rare quality of being both affable (friendly) and yet astute and erudite at the same time ...a very rare and balanced personality. Would LOVE to see this exquisitely painted/decorated and renovated castle someday. What an amazing "Father-of-Art Nouveau" artist and architect was Viollet-le-Duc! The colors in the second room featured ...the dining room I think, so keenly remind me of the animal and decorative motifs and the colors of yellow, mauve, red, and pale turquoise (or pale Wedgwood blue?) of the artist Brumidi who painted the corridors of the U.S.A. Capitol Building. Simply exquisite dining room!! Thank you for the tour and charmingly informative information!

    You might own the castle but anyone watching can see it owns your heart, and in the modern age lives and breaths through you. You clearly see yourself as a custodian of history. It's easy to be jealous but owning a castle probably takes over your life, your lucky that you have the passion to do this, and so are we!

    What a great gentleman. He was obviously born very privileged and could've easily gone down the path of cavalier indifference and reckless prodigality. However, his passion for history and his property make him and ideal custodian and guardian of not only his family's but France's heritage.
    Was very pleased to get to know more about the castle and the man caring for it.

    • @jacksongunner7122
      @jacksongunner7122 7 месяцев назад +11

      "He was obviously born very privileged", not necessarily, the wealth of these old estates was in the land that they controlled and I doubt that they own much more than the grounds that this castle is on which they make their money off of by giving tours. The landed aristocracy pretty much went broke all over Europe by the 19th century or before. What is amazing is that the family back in the day put so much money into an old castle, most of them just left them to rot or used the stone to build a more modern house.

    Incroyable et surtout, Incroyable niveau en anglais aussi, c'est assez rare de trouver des Français qui parlent un si bon anglais avec un accent quasi parfait. Incredible and especially, incredible english skills... it's so rare to have French people with such a good accent and fluent like this.

    What a pleasure to visit & see the inside of a 'live' castle so old & yet still very loved & lived in - a wonderful presentation by the current owner of such an ancient family of his wonderful home. The painted ceilings are incredible & so lovely to see them still so colorful & mostly just like new. I love to view castles all over yet most of them are ruins & it is hard to picture how they might have looked with furnishings & family touches. This shows how a wealthy family actually lived hundreds of years ago - of course there were many servants to keep it all going , and now must be very much harder without that work force available. Thank you so much to the owner for this gracious tour of his home - I really appreciate it !

      True. Also it seems Roger Moore came from a long list of bond actors/tax evaders. Sean Connery was another famous one

    Magnífico!!! todo nos mantiene expectante, sin aliento......para no perder ni una palabra de la historia, tan atrapante y al final el golpe de gracia!!! ese espléndido art nouveau que crea Viollete Le Duc que eleva el alma. Excelente narrador, pausado sabiendo el efecto que causa, muchas gracias Sr. Sébastien de Baritault un honor para sus antepasados.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the owners' very knowledgeable history about his castle. The architecture and tiling in the Church was just mind blowing. You will never find such beauty and craftsmanship in today's age. I hope to visit one day 😊

    Chapel is absolutely incredible. Chateau’s interior beyond words. If I manage another trip to Europe would love to visit what is now a growing list of these magnificent buildings. Love to hear the history of the both the people and the construction.

    I gotta say as an art history student and also an amateur drawer I’m absolutely baffaled at the fact how much this castle is beautiful along with the chapel. I just have one question: What kind of a ghost is in that green room?

    The historical narration is very informative. Glad the chateau remained in the family for such a long period of time. The eventual completion of those frescoes would be satisfying to all. Maybe the rooms could be opened to the public without restoration. Many people welcome small imperfections. Keep up the good work.

    A Family that survived The Hundred Years War, The Great Terror, WW1 and WWll , pretty impressive. Here in the US if something gets to 125 years it considered old. There are just a few older than 200 but to see a structure in the same family is just amazing. Must not be an inheritance tax. Thanks for the short tour loved it.
