The look on your face after showing the upper control arm is priceless. I laughed out loud . My dad would give me that same look too many times and it brought back memories. On another note, I have a 2000 s10 ext. that came with lowering spindles and lowering rear springs 😞 and a 383/700r4/3500 w/lock up. I replaced rear with a 8.6 and cal tracs-373 gear. Run 375 nittos and Calvert shocks. It runs 12:50’s all day and gets 19 mpg on highway with a/c. I consider it acceptable for what I’m doing with it but you are absolutely correct about all the things you talked about. I’m 60 yrs old now but back in my bracket racing days I had a 78 Camaro that I set up almost exactly what you described except no sway bar in rear. I won lots of races because it was ultra consistent. Great info for anybody looking to hook pavement hard. Love all the videos you and your son put out and wish your wife a speedy recovery.

You guys are doing well and doing it right. I had a 1985 GMC S-15 we did just about what you did at the beginning but in the end it was a full tube chassis truck. And I fully agree with your comment of only one change at a time. When we moved out of the stock frame and suspension we had to log every change. And your comment about it doesn't cost much to make them fast is very correct. Once we moved to the tube chassis the costs got to the point we just couldn't keep up with the costs, so we sold it and I moved to Ohio. But watching you and Billy I'm kinda thinking it maybe time to look at putting another one together to play on this no prep stuff. Wish you guys all the luck and if you ever need a hand just let me know. I live just up the road from you guys.

Great video once again. I got a 76 Vega I bracket race and nmca race. Lots of Vega guys run S-10 front suspension parts it’s compatible with all the H-body stuff. I don’t yet cause I had strange do some work on my stock spindles but it was nice to get a look underneath the truck.

Love these videos and a inside look at things. I’m sure some are gonna say he shouldn’t have done this and showed all the tricks. I applaud him for spreading the knowledge. It’s all in the driver behind the wheel and he knows that. You could put 10 different guys in Billy’s truck and none would go faster than what he’s laid down. You can’t buy talent.
Stock spindle, tall tire , light spring. Got it boss. Whenever I tried to explain this to so called car people they scoff because they want the nice low street look but don’t realise they are reducing the amount of energy that’s gonna get captured and when you are launching a car with 1000 plus horse power this information is crucial.

This was super awesome to watch! Its not like ill be giving you any kind of competition at all literally ever with a truck like yours. So my dad and i built a stroker for my s10 probably close to 8 years ago now, 9” rear 3:90 gears and for years its just been something to toy around with a few times a year cause its just real squirrely. Hes told me for years we gotta back half it but thats so pricey for just a toy that i dont plan on racing with. Its awesome to see that someone can keep something as wild as your truck stuck to the ground without going and breaking the bank for a back half kit and 18” wide tires and all that crazy shit!! Looks like the caltraks and the shocks should really let me enjoy my truck a hell of a lot more without worrying about loosing traction playing around!!! Thanks for the video! MUCH APPRECIATED!!

These videos mean so much to me. My family is not into racing. I have just recently found a mentor with an s10 but he’s a bracket race guy lol. No prep street is the way I’ve always wanted to do it. The internet is where I get all my information from. Currently deployed but I’m soaking everything up I can like a dry sponge. When I get home it’ll be time to put all your knowledge to good use. I have been following your channel for a very long time now. I have admired what you are and have been able to accomplish. You are a very humble, hard working man of which not many exist today. Hence, why people always want to know what you have done and what part is where, how come this and why not that. They do not desire great knowledge , as they say, from someone as yourself. They want to skirt the learning and mastery process. Knowledge is useless unless you can be the master of its implementation. Exactly why there are soooo many racers mired in mediocrity., and blaming it on not having enough money to do what they think they need to do. It is never the money that will afford the opportunity for high level achievement. It is what is in your heart and soul and your willingness to master all within your capabilities. Even with everything you gave in this presentation as well as the previous ones, they do not have your specific knowledge, experience, nor your boys style and implementation of piloting the vehicle. Which means is is mostly useless to them, unless they take the information and work the same as you to have mastery over it. I see you as a brilliant man. No level of formal education makes you smart. The total mastery of the knowledge you possess and mastery over its implementation afford you and your sons the opportunity to experience your level of success and future successes. That is real GENIUS. Keep up the work you are doing. I wish you all of the success and achievements you can reach. Can't wait to hear you speak again!!

I am now in the middle of a 2000 s10 street build. They are some things you pointed out that i already knew, and some i didnt . The ones i didnt, i now dont hafta figure out by trial and error. Great info. For the G body fellas: this same front setup, using v6 springs. For the rear trz anti roll bar “ no more g body shuffle”, adjustable uppers, boxed lowers and a bit or reinforcement on the control arm mounting points or torque box and the g body will hook on ice. Cage, x brace and boxed frame wil make the landing more pleasant and keep you from ripping the car appart.
I am definitely soaking this up! Long time S-10 fan, recently ls swapped with 8.8 and TH400. Thank you for all the great information. It's a lot easier to listen to you than it is for me to reinvent the wheel. Thank you again
Hey man , I got a 388 stoker with a th400 gonna put either at 8.8 or a 9in in it , I was curious what pinion angle you set your rear at and engine/trans , gonna build a custom trans mount so trying to figure this out , appreciate your time if anyone got info and see’s this comment.
I am running the stock drive shaft with just 2 U-joints. Mine is a short cab so the pinion and motor\trans just have to be the same. I'm running at 3 1\2 degrees front and rear. With a one piece driveline they just need to be parallel. With an 8.8 I did need to shim the rear a bit.

Difference in performance between water burnout and PYOP? Different types of TC and what you prefer? I know you and your boys use Stripper Glitter but what are some of the differences between other brands? How about proper way of using it correctly? I would be very curious to learn more and I am not sure if many videos out there discussing it in depth. Thanks for everything you do and your valuable time.
Nice video and great points!!!! Leafsprings and Caltracs are certainly a proven combination. Great info on the front end. Guys pay close attention to this video. It is full of gold nuggets of info! This lines up with the video on leafsprings along with other videos on rear pickup points on my channel. You don't have to spend tons of money if you understand the combination of all the pieces working together. Go Fast, Go Straight! Be Safe!

Love these videos and a inside look at things. I’m sure some are gonna say he shouldn’t have done this and showed all the tricks. I applaud him for spreading the knowledge. It’s all in the driver behind the wheel and he knows that. You could put 10 different guys in Billy’s truck and none would go faster than what he’s laid down. You can’t buy talent.
Great video on how to set up a vehicle, and the misnomer that it takes fancy parts to make them hook! keep them coming!
Stock spindle, tall tire , light spring. Got it boss. Whenever I tried to explain this to so called car people they scoff because they want the nice low street look but don’t realise they are reducing the amount of energy that’s gonna get captured and when you are launching a car with 1000 plus horse power this information is crucial.

This was super awesome to watch! Its not like ill be giving you any kind of competition at all literally ever with a truck like yours. So my dad and i built a stroker for my s10 probably close to 8 years ago now, 9” rear 3:90 gears and for years its just been something to toy around with a few times a year cause its just real squirrely. Hes told me for years we gotta back half it but thats so pricey for just a toy that i dont plan on racing with.
Its awesome to see that someone can keep something as wild as your truck stuck to the ground without going and breaking the bank for a back half kit and 18” wide tires and all that crazy shit!!
Looks like the caltraks and the shocks should really let me enjoy my truck a hell of a lot more without worrying about loosing traction playing around!!!

These videos mean so much to me. My family is not into racing. I have just recently found a mentor with an s10 but he’s a bracket race guy lol. No prep street is the way I’ve always wanted to do it. The internet is where I get all my information from. Currently deployed but I’m soaking everything up I can like a dry sponge. When I get home it’ll be time to put all your knowledge to good use. I have been following your channel for a very long time now. I have admired what you are and have been able to accomplish. You are a very humble, hard working man of which not many exist today. Hence, why people always want to know what you have done and what part is where, how come this and why not that. They do not desire great knowledge , as they say, from someone as yourself. They want to skirt the learning and mastery process. Knowledge is useless unless you can be the master of its implementation. Exactly why there are soooo many racers mired in mediocrity., and blaming it on not having enough money to do what they think they need to do. It is never the money that will afford the opportunity for high level achievement. It is what is in your heart and soul and your willingness to master all within your capabilities. Even with everything you gave in this presentation as well as the previous ones, they do not have your specific knowledge, experience, nor your boys style and implementation of piloting the vehicle. Which means is is mostly useless to them, unless they take the information and work the same as you to have mastery over it. I see you as a brilliant man. No level of formal education makes you smart. The total mastery of the knowledge you possess and mastery over its implementation afford you and your sons the opportunity to experience your level of success and future successes. That is real GENIUS. Keep up the work you are doing. I wish you all of the success and achievements you can reach. Can't wait to hear you speak again!!
Thank you for the Straight foward insight and information. Im a 60yr old, old school gearhead and have been doing some sort of racing since i was 14. I am now in the middle of a 2000 s10 street build. They are some things you pointed out that i already knew, and some i didnt . The ones i didnt, i now dont hafta figure out by trial and error.

Great info. For the G body fellas: this same front setup, using v6 springs. For the rear trz anti roll bar “ no more g body shuffle”, adjustable uppers, boxed lowers and a bit or reinforcement on the control arm mounting points or torque box and the g body will hook on ice. Cage, x brace and boxed frame wil make the landing more pleasant and keep you from ripping the car appart.

Hey man , I got a 388 stoker with a th400 gonna put either at 8.8 or a 9in in it , I was curious what pinion angle you set your rear at and engine/trans , gonna build a custom trans mount so trying to figure this out , appreciate your time if anyone got info and see’s this comment.
I am running the stock drive shaft with just 2 U-joints. Mine is a short cab so the pinion and motor\trans just have to be the same. I'm running at 3 1\2 degrees front and rear. With a one piece driveline they just need to be parallel. With an 8.8 I did need to shim the rear a bit.

Difference in performance between water burnout and PYOP? Different types of TC and what you prefer? I know you and your boys use Stripper Glitter but what are some of the differences between other brands? How about proper way of using it correctly? Nice video and great points!!!! Leafsprings and Caltracs are certainly a proven combination. Great info on the front end. Guys pay close attention to this video. It is full of gold nuggets of info! This lines up with the video on leafsprings along with other videos on rear pickup points on my channel. You don't have to spend tons of money if you understand the combination of all the pieces working together. Go Fast, Go Straight! Be Safe!
