I recommend this channel to co-workers and my son who is a brand new father. It isn't the car content, it is the daily demonstration of how to be a good father. That's why, this channel is one of the best. Good luck this weekend, and stay safe.
Yeah use to crack up myself when my 2 older boys started in on each other. Well as long as they weren't in the "I'm gonna kill him" mood. Little trash talking never hurt nobody. Though their mother always ruined it (Stop it boys right now!) and so I never got that far much anyways. 😏
I noticed it with the old man a while back when he was telling tommy that they were gonna be able to get the blue truck down to fox body weight. Which tommy response was "f*vk a fox body". He lit up. Then when they go talking trash to each other he really lights up. It's funny. I got teenage boys so I can totally relate to the "that's my boy$" proud dad moments. That's an awesome feeling.
Dont worry about it. I've found over the years its you (us) the person that needs to learn how to learn, watch and listen, not the "teacher" teach "properly" or a certain way.
Well I learned a lot from both of you . I have been around the block once or twice and I would happily have either one of you explain something to me .
My dad built me a 63 Nova that I raced for years and still own. In fact, it’s been 29 years now. I think of him every time I watch the Old Man. Wish he was still around to share my love of racing. God Bless you guys!
I want to say this without being corny. Im 40 years old, I am trying to get into building a badass street truck, I'm no mechanic, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Your videos are inspiring.
I 3rd this statement. I’m 28 luckily blessed to have a neighbor whose built a few street/strip cars and trucks. And i started this summer on my c10 I’ve had since I was 16. Find someone in your area to connect with. We can do this.
I wrench in the shop with my sweetie a lot and this video taught me a bunch! He tries to explain things to me as we work together but ya know how that goes.....😂 Thank you!
@@theoldmansgarage only way to do it right ! He obviously respects you to the utmost and it's obvious how much you believe in him even when giving him a hard time ! Love the dynamic!! Best 2 channels out there !!
YES thank you! I was asking for this every couple videos for a couple weeks....i see he keeps it conservative early in the run so it doesnt spin then ramps it in hard out mid and back, most guys dont know to do that
When I was a kid, racing was a family activity. I grew up at the drag strip, great memories. I'll never forget my dad helping me build my first car, a '67 Chevelle
The channel never disappoints no matter the subject. I am blessed to have a place in my life to go and be humbled by a family I don't even know except from watching this channel. Thank you for all that is shared and given. Please be safe out there ...
"Bare bones" lol the best compliment I ever got... Holding the trophy, and the big money guy comes up and says "some guys can run good on junk". Putting in the work can save a lot of money. I am so glad to see families doing this stuff together and passing down a passion through the generations. Thank you guys for putting you life on youtube for people to see that this sport can be done respectfully and as a family.
Hey old man well I’m 62. But we are even I think you are great because you give props to those around you and you give information DONT STOP please DON’T STOP so great
Stopped mid video just to go watch that epic wheelie man that was a great night. Hope you guys get to NC with no problems... Show up and show out good luck this weekend im looking forward to that footage
I really appreciate the break down of the build. The way you break things down and explain in detail. I love your channel. I started watching Billy's channel and the day you started your channel. Now this is one of my favorite channel's to watch. Please keep putting out content.
It’s awesome that you give 60ft times, 1/8 mile times, etc....99% of other racers act like they are hiding the exact coordinates to the ark of the covenant if they divulge their 60ft. Or 1/8 mi. Time. Love you guys and appreciate your honesty and obvious willingness to help others!
Hey thank you guys for being there for all these years Bill keep up the good work You're a good father Billy congratulations son on being a father want to happiest times of my life when I was a father for the first time You're in for an amazing ride
Being an older guy I learned how to properly set up a dual point distributor and it's mechanical advance for small block and big block fords and about the time I got proficient doing that than along came electronic ignition and ignition control boxes, my first was a Mallory Unilite and Hyfire box, your videos are very helpful in teaching this old dog new tricks👍👍
And I got the hoodie Billy is wearing a few months ago and I gotta say y’all use good quality stuff 💯 thank y’all for keeping me entertained all the time 👌🏽👌🏽
I have told you guys before and I will say it again you and your family are 100% a class act and we need more fathers in this world just like you sir!! I am a father myself and if any thing I will say I try to have patience with my kids that you have with yours trying at times gratification in most God bless you and your family ps yes we race but on two wheels ✌️
Hi guys. You are very fortunate to be able to share a common interest with your sons and have a good time doing so. You say you are probably not the best to explain things because you believe you are not very well spoken. I disagree, you explain what you do with Billy's truck very well and you don't assume that everyone knows all about the components that you are talking about. I have never raced but I have worked on vehicles since I was 8 so over 40 years and I completely understand what you are saying. Just because you may believe that you are not very well educated does not mean you are not a smart man. Education has nothing to do with intelligence. There are well educated people out there that can't change a tire. You guys keep up the good work and keep winning. Best of luck from Canada.
Nice to see helpful people out there in the racing community. A lot of racers wouldn't tell you anything. I remember my first trip into a speed shop in a out 1982. Even guys selling parts were not giving info.
Very informative. You explained everything this 60 year old man has been wondering about these turbo setups. I have been wanting my 72 camino to wheelie like your S-10!
What a pleasure it was to see that LONG wheelie again! I've always said a properly built/tuned SBC with the RIGHT drivetrain WILL rise above anything else!
the way the you guys explain i can finally understand what is dump pressure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and spring pressure dam too much good imformation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i mean... honestly! the quality of the content is next to perfect, from begginer to advanced... i mean, great videos! especialy this one! i could listen to this time and time again! great job!
Keep the recipes coming, I have some cooking todo. Very appropriated for you guys doing this, I look forward to watch more of your videos and hopefully someday meeting your family. You guys are truly blessed.
Guys this is what love about y'all u just explain everything in detail where its easy for a old man like myself can understand cause I'm so far behind the times of drag racing where have i been away from the sport so long that im just now beginning to understand boost gate pressure blow off valves and boost controllers and yes dump valves thank you guys for the education and good luck at dig or die was gonna frive down and watch but something came up so hope u win guys
THANK YOU BILL, for sharing your knowledge with folks less fortunate. It is written📝.....you will be rewarded ten times in return!!! We Love you and your family♥
I'm usually at work day and night through week this time of year here in Ohio, but I look forward to sitting down on the weekends and watching your vids.. marathon style. Thank you for doing such a great job.
Some serious education right here! It never ceases to amaze me how many options there is out there to go quick on shit surfaces, from shade tree methods to this to the exotic stuff like Holley HP/Dominator. Much love for this content!
Great video guys 👍 I have dealt with old school ignition systems it's nice to hear it explained in a way I can understand. So glad y'all did well this year .
Young man (old man), love your video,s. I learn something new every time I see your video,s. You are very intelligent and know a lot of racing tricks.. man I wished I lived closer to yall. I live 1 he from rockingham nc. I'm going to try and make it this week end so I can meet y'all and hopefully get to know you. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and family time with me. May God be with yall in your travels. And may God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your setup. Everyone tries to keep it a secret, but like you said, you have to put it all together. It doesn’t mean it’ll work the same on someone else’s car. Good luck at dig or die!
Hey Bill, Thank you for explaining the inner workings of the truck. I think you do a great job of explaining how things work. You use plain words which makes understanding what your explaining very simple to understand. Don't sell yourself short buddy. I could listen to you going over the workings of a engine for hours without getting to confused. lol - Later
I just realised how clever you blokes are and how hard you work to make this all happen...I mean you have to make the entire vehicle all work as one for a few seconds of any given race for any given road....and it’s not like you have efi and the latest Holley computers and sensors etc etc.
It takes a team to race and these kids know electronics, it’s amazing how much you control with a computer, I grew up in racing in the 60’s & 70’s with Hilborn injection, high speed by pass and a pill to lean or richen the fuel mixture by reading the plugs. How times have changed, thanks for all the info, been seeing a lot of people changing to Hoosiers these past few races. Billy & you make a great team, even when I see the old man shake his head 😂 Good luck this weekend and safe travels.
Thank you guys so much for this. We've been converting my dad's 8 second truck from 20 years of nitrous to 671 blower and taking it PYOP racing. We're old school but know we need more tuning than reading plugs and checking air pressure and have been trying to figure out what computer tuning we need. It looks like this box may be what keeps us keeping the carbs and trying to figure out a Holley Terminator.
Thanks for the information you share with your followers. Your ability to give that information is perfectly understandable for me and I know very little about these things, so don’t worry 😉
hard to find words to express how much I enjoy watching. I can't speak for all the street racers I've known let alone all of us out there but I always ran the most basic stuff with great results because of heart to drive and understand what I built. your channel is no doubt a beautiful definition of good honest old fashioned fun or.even new age fun because open minded. I personally appreciate how you are so willing to accept everyone even though I know deep down you like a good ford joke(me too) and what about dodge guy that ran a 360 with ported 340x heads in AMC spirit? . Anyways I hope you get million subscribers and love how real your family is. ps papa you might think because you maybe didn't get PhD in university that you are not well spoken but your combinations of solid personality and experience and knowledge make you very well spoken and very enjoyable to learn from. You know you are well bred just be yourself and thankyou for keeping hot rodding/ street racing / muscle cars alive
you probably don't have time to read all comments but you and your family are the definition of cool naturally in a very real way. Please keep it up I'm 46 and was starting to forget about exciting honest family fun. I am thinking about building a hot rod with my son thanks to your channel
Hello ya’all o have to say it’s nice hearing Billy talk just like we do. We’re only an hour north of New York City but we are referred to as “up state “ and that’s fine. It’s funny Billy says “the hoods been like that for 4 years and I don’t hunk it’s going no where”! That’s how we build our cars, they are safe and run strong but we don’t have a big budget. I have a 6.0 ls to put in my 2000 s-10 and Bill I can get a small block 400 and I’m really tempted to ditch the idea of the old school 400 with a carb. Listening to you and your terminology of the ls motors I’m listening sir!! This video is before the election but I still go tons of knowledge from it. Great full it’s still being posted. Hope you all are healthy and happy and safe! Best regards!!!!
I thought you would like to know, I cited you and this video for a discussion in my electrical engineering class. This is great information and can show what we can improve on in the future. I hope to help put something out to help the budget crowd one day so we dont need to use multiple systems. Thanks for your time and knowledge.
Perfect timing 👌, I've been trying to figure out what I want to do on my low boost big block budget deal. Not a lot of guys sharing knowledge like this. I watch every video you guys upload, thank you.
Thank u guys for sharing all that info! Doing a pro charged SBC with the same ignition box and the info you have freely given is going to help me so much! Thank u!!
Really enjoyed and learned alot from the fuel pump, carb, regulator valve and vacuum can part of the vid. I know about non turbo fuel systems , but this taught me about the turbo side. The other parts were really good to, but the fuel system was the best. And really ,I dig the way that that hood pops up when he let's off the throttle. Great video, Thanks Bill!!!!
As usual another great content. Feeding off each other’s responses makes it fun to watch. The cook book reference was spot on as well as having a great wheel man. It isn’t winning or loosing it is the journey. Thank you for sharing and good luck this weekend.
You guys are awesome, we appreciate everything you guys do for our racing community . Billy handed me my ass in round 2 at dod but I gave him what I thought would go down but it was a little too hot for track after the sun went down. Congrats on going rounds and now u hv data for March.
Thanks guys for sharing your knowledge and experience. Just come across this old video after watching all your recent stuff. Looks like I might have to go over your whole back catalogue of videos. 😊 Graham. UK.
First time I saw that hood move was on one of Billy’s huge power wheelie. I thought the whole front end came loose. lol Great video even for people not running turbos. I myself have a much better understanding how that stuff works. You all are a wonderful family and I wish you all the best in everything you all do. 😃
I love this because you explain the reasons and the mechanics of why and how it works with all involved. I am able to understand when it is done that way, maybe it has to do with my dyslexia which has to do with the way I perceive things, I think.
That is an excellent video on how to tune a engine with the carburetor and an MSD box not too many people are willing to do that thank you very much. Keep'on trucking
For 2 years I have been looking for initial setup and programming videos on that box. I have been chasing a misfire for several months and your comment about pulling to much timing and the rotor jumping to the wrong cylinder sounds like my issue. Thank you for this video!
Good luck in North Carolina. I live here and know the track and think you have a good shot to win it. Most guys last year we running mid 6s at best. Maybe it will be better with some rubber down this year.you guys are my favorite channel.
I recommend this channel to co-workers and my son who is a brand new father. It isn't the car content, it is the daily demonstration of how to be a good father. That's why, this channel is one of the best. Good luck this weekend, and stay safe.
Couldn't agree more, I love racing but Im here for the family racing vibes and I love Bill.

Wonderful, concise explanation of, to me, a complicated system. Thank you.
Thanks much,my car is na only and thats because I don't have a grasp on the turbo set up yet but I am learning more every day with folks like you.
You guys are awesome keep up the good work and enjoy your life and family hopefully I’ll see you guys this weekend
Great information! These videos just get better and better
Man. You answered so many questions I've always had!!!!! Amazing, thank you
As usual another great content. Feeding off each other’s responses makes it fun to watch. The cook book reference was spot on as well as having a great wheel man. It isn’t winning or loosing it is the journey. Thank you for sharing and good luck this weekend.
You did a great job explaining you set up! You have my attention gentleman. Better than any school class I ever had! Thank you!
50 minute video feels like 5 minutes, thanks for the info fellas! 🤙🤙🤙
Graham. UK.
Keep up the great videos. You put out some of the most informative videos out. Help us regular guys out that are on a budget. Thanks again.
First time I saw that hood move was on one of Billy’s huge power wheelie. I thought the whole front end came loose. lol
Great video even for people not running turbos. I myself have a much better understanding how that stuff works.
You all are a wonderful family and I wish you all the best in everything you all do. 😃
Thanks for sharing some knowledge for all us common folk.
Great Job ya'll we love watching you & thx for explaining all the details.
For 2 years I have been looking for initial setup and programming videos on that box. I have been chasing a misfire for several months and your comment about pulling to much timing and the rotor jumping to the wrong cylinder sounds like my issue. Thank you for this video!
So humble and down to earth 👍. Lovin the content. Keep it real and keep it raw. Thanks
Good luck in North Carolina. I live here and know the track and think you have a good shot to win it. Most guys last year we running mid 6s at best. Maybe it will be better with some rubber down this year.you guys are my favorite channel.
I think the stock hood cut idea sounds pretty awesome lol.
