"Don't be a Dick Billy" lol reminds me of my dad. That's what he used to tell me. What I'd give to have them day's back. Damn i miss him. Thanks for the video awesome content
My dad used to race a 67 fairlane I remember when i was 12 13 years old And him telling me.. Dont be a dick... I still have his fairlane to this day. Ii bought a 91 notch mustang my son was 14 then now he is 17 and i be telling him dont be a dick.... When he said " dont be a dick billy" it all came back to me. I miss my ol man being around 💯💯💯 just glad to see you guys the way you are around each other keep making those memories. 💯💯
@@sammyb.9344 sorry bout your dad. Sounds like you had a good time growing up with him. I'm fortunate enough to still have my dad but not my brother. He committed suicide at 16. So i guess in a way i did lose my dad to since 5 months later he had a stroke at 44 years old and he hasn't been the same since either. It's the little things that I enjoy that bring back all the good memories.
I love watching when your old man's on there. He remains me of my dad so much. Don't ever take for granted what you guys have. A lot of father and son's wish they had it.
Love these videos of you and your Dad, and now your brother is being added. Your Dad has done well raising you both, good to see you hanging with him and working together.
Cant wait to see the build on your bro*s truck.. it's just awesome to see a son and father team in the garage just spending time together an building dreams..
There's something about being out in the garage with your pop's working on your car's that just put's a smile on my face! KEEP DOIN WHAT YOUR DOIN, it's working and it's fun to watch from a couple thousand miles away...
My son is 18 months old right now; hopefully he'll be out in the garage with me in a few years. Great videos guys. It's nice seeing you work with your fam.
Billy.... you need to get a set of 2 inch lowering split mono leafs from Calvert racing. They will need some weight info... but give them a call. Great company great customer service. Stay stock suspension leaves you more places to play track wise and isnt as a hint with big power
God Bless you Brother! I have NEVER seen someone do so much with so little. That is in no way meant as an insult. The exact opposite, HUGE compliment. I have never seen anyone go so fast, show at so many races, make so many passes, win so often and do it with an insanely basic setup. AGAIN, not an insult. Keep on doin' what ya do. Now, one thing that might seem negative, which it isn't, keep safety in mind. I've watched that truck skatin' around on the big end. Keep the worst case scenario in mind, it can happen. Merry Christmas to you and your entire family. I'll say a prayer for you all.
Love this content. The racing is awesome but the prep for racing and the coverage of real issues that face all non professional racers is also awesome. Keeping it real Thanks !
I have to say I am jealous of you’re father he gets to share a passion with his sons. I can only hope one day my sons and I will do the same. Great videos Billy thank you.
Awesome video, pleasure the times you spend with your dad in the shop, me and my dad did it when we were younger and watching you and your brother and your dad wrench in the shop makes me miss wrenching with my dad, keep up the good videos I look forward to everyone
With all the moving around of your rear suspension bits, have a feeling we MIGHT need to rerack that thing and get the alignment dialed back in! Great news on the bolts too, that had to be a terrifying experience knowing all the engine battles you've had in 2019!
LOL... I did the same thing with my 92 fox.. 410ci.. started knocking one day.. thought for sure I damaged motor.. Dad told me check the converter bolts... sure enough.. loose..
I do a lot of off roading. I always had problems with alloy lift blocks. They all ways wear out or crack. Try having a set of steel ones made. If you don't four link it. Awesome video! Keep it up!!
not sure if mentioned already, but quick fix - weld the tapper to block, assuming both aluminum. will take the shear out and stop some movement, then put a metal pin in it
Here's an idea on your loose lowering block center pin..If you were to have solid or billet aluminum or steel block and ad 2 extra pins in the block where it mounts to the spring perch thus drilling 2 holes in perch & block, 1 before & after center pin you would have 3 pins securing the block vs. 1.. Think of it as pinning your mains just on your leaf springs..Also instead of an aluminum shim get a steel shim from Rubicon Express..They sell Jeep suspension parts, and run a new center pin through the leaf pack and though the steel shim, if you can upgrade to a larger pin this will also help since now you're going through the leaf & shim.. I've had to do this with my crawler as I used to break spring shims left & right till I ran a larger center pin through the leafs and the steel shim. Problem solved.. Hope this helps.. Love your channel, now go kick some ass...
HEY BILLY I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU,I HAD ACQUIRED A ODD NOISE IN MY S10 TOO AND AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO I WENT AND CHECKED MY FLYWHEEL AND IT TOO WAS LOOSE CAUSING THE CLACKING NOISE. I REALLY THOUGHT IT WAS DEEPER THAN JUST LOOSE BOLTS ON THE FLYWHEEL. SO THANK YOU AGAIN.. SINGING OUT THE ORIGINAL KIDD. DARRELL KIDD
This is what my dad and I used to/still kind of do. I'm moving on to an LS and teaching dad about them on the way. Stoked to see how it makes my s10 move lol.
Awesome video brother love watching your channel lots of great content!!! Keep the videos coming!!! Thanks for taking time to make them you guys do an awesome job!!
fellas the look at 4:08 wen billy says put the rear end back together. billy ur dad was super truly super cool with even though shall i say ur dreams were so apparent .love it fellas com on down to n.c. and race like u folks always do . thanks fer just bein yourslfs awsome . what days r u gona be in north carolina love to bring the fam out and see the s-10 OH YA GET SOME REST NOT . peace merry christmas. so there r 2 boys and one dad one girl freind and they has to b an incredible mom somewhere wow
Love your channel. You guys do it like I use to. No fancy shop but you get it done. Retired and looking for a roller to drop a 366 in and go do some fun racing. Is the Nova for sale by chance. I am in Indiana.
Get yourself some drop leafs and re-start suspension tuning. Blocks are a no go. Even on my mild 12 sec. s-10 it would rip them to shreds. I'd recommend solid front leaf bushings and well lubricated poly bushings on the shackle end.
That was a tight fit inside dad's old mill... maybe worth a look to check the beam for straightness and the balance on the rods, at least on that bank ? Will you bother to check the distance from the decks to the crank centerline on the old block ? Kind of weird that was just the one side so bad, like maybe a difference in deck height ?
That fuckin' firewall lip! I totally forgot about that on those S10s. My first mech job was R and R in a transmission shop in the mid 90s, that lip made it a bitch on those S10s. I enjoyed watching it get cut.
Hey Billy, I'm looking @ 710 dragways website and can't find anything about the upcoming race. I'm in NC, I'd like to come watch and meet you guys and buy some merch. Any links for this event?
A 2 foot 1 inch pipe put to your ear can pinpoint where a noise is coming from. Listen to the rocker covers all the way across, oil pan, bellhousing ect.. Awe Snow white, I guess a color change is off the table for the Fire Chicken.
So, worn out leaf springs are the only thing keeping your axle perpendicular to the frame? For the sake of your life, please fix that soon. Stay safe, and keep the videos coming!!
You guys are hilarious I love to be your neighbour I'll be over there helping you good luck on the race I'll be looking for the videos Rob from Vancouver Canada
Get rid of the drop blocks altogether . i had issues bad with less power then your making on a street truck. Went to a western chassis lowering spring and bigger ubolts no more problems . had to ream out caltrac spring plates .
I absolutely loved this video and have little bro in it was awesome you better step your game up Billy my gut tells me you might not be the fastest driver in the family and my gut is never wrong prove me wrong Billy and make more videos like this! 🦅🇺🇸🦅

Glad truck is ok. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Dig or Die.
Your pops seems like such a cool dude! Don't take anytime you spend for granite!!
Jtr (Jags that run) makes the solid billet aluminum blocks and they also have the angle shims. The shims bolt directly to the lowering block.
Bowmans helped us the one year we were at the Spring Nats and had car trouble. Use to stay at the k.o.a. near Buckeye Lake! Man i miss those times!!
You gotta pretty cool dad!!! Love listening to the wisdom.
Hella funny . "We just need thicker gaskets" bahaha
Wish you still made videos like this one, these are the type that Made you Famous 👍👍💪💪❤️❤️

Good catch pn those flex plate bolts !
Love it. True street racer. Jus needed thicker head gaskets.
The legacy of the old 400 small block...cracks in the last two cylinder webs... Just put a thicker head gasket in it LOL !!!
Seems to me that I mentioned that possibility on your last video about the noise and the converter area. Lol... Glad that all it was.
The county just adds flavor to the name of that plate. Js.

keep the leaf springs. split monoleaf with a slider to replace the shackle. you would be surprised how well it works. the truck is bad ass.
Your dad is pretty awesome man
Thanks for the video fellas love this channel your 10 is a bad ass truck love your dads nova too
Nice video.....your dad is the MAN🏁🏁🏁👍🏽👍🏽

Easy fix!! local machine shop to make your custom blocks
Finally!!!! Someone who knows what division 3 footballs finest movie is! Just remember Go Every time So Others May.....Every time
It just needs a THICKER GASKET, I was rolling laughing my ass off. NOOOOOOOO. :~)
You mean to tell me you and Kent Rose have been running that truck with high horsepower and bolt on suspension stuff?.?.!!WOW!#ONLY1

My S10 works real well with ladder bars and coil overs.
You could also do a Calvert drop leaf too
Shave all that rubber from the wheel wells and you may lose 10 pounds off the truck.
Awesome dad an family!
loctite all flywheel and stall bolts damn yall are twins dude
Thicker gasgets will work . I must say though 20 years if Pistons hitting the heads & not cracking anything is pretty lucky
Get rid of the drop blocks altogether . i had issues bad with less power then your making on a street truck. Went to a western chassis lowering spring and bigger ubolts no more problems . had to ream out caltrac spring plates .

Your pops sounded just like me talkin to my son!? He woulda said the same thicker head gasket comment. Pretty cool
Wish Me and my dad could have done something like this...
Good to see he went a s10 to . family strong
I running de arched leaf strings on my Shit10, they lower it down 3 inches and works good with cal tracs , then you can do away with lowering blocks
