I would totally be down for the Beetlejuice Hawaiian movie. Sure it sounds dumb, but the original film sounded really dumb, too, until you saw it and strangely liked it.

It was such a madcap movie! Also, I believe that Beetlejuice emerged as the sleeper hit in 1988. Seems that some people didn't give this gem much of a chance at the box office. Boy, were they wrong!!!

Not exactly. Spaceballs is the funniest in my opinion, the template for all future spoofs, but the other Mel brooks movies are still very funny. Saying Spaceballs is funnier than blazing saddles is like saying Monty python and the Holy grail is funnier than Monty python's life of Brian. Life of Brian is still funny as balls and so are Mel brooks other movies

Beetlejuice Goes to Hawaii was Tim Burton writing the most horrible thing he could come up with so studios would stop pestering him about making a sequel. They were never going to make the movie and Tim Burton was never seriously pitching the idea.
And now that is star is waning, his movies get worse and worse, suddenly he thinks it might be a good idea after all.

That was my favorite line from that movie when I was a kid; likely because he dropped the f-bomb. I recently bought a DVD copy of the movie, having not seen it in years, to find out the line was retro-edited out! To say I was bummed would be an understatement.

I always understood that they spell it "Beetle Juice" on the movie poster and like the star in the actual movie, is because he isn't allowed to spell it exactly the way it's pronounced, or else the summoning spell won't work for him! it even says it at some point in the movie, through "in-between the lines" dialogue.

Colby Barker They literally explain this as the last fact about the movie. If you watch all 7 minutes of it or at least skip to the end, then they say that the name os the movie is spelled differently only because people are idiots and wouldnt be able to pronounce it if they lead with the name "Betelgeuse".

Maddie Holt - I looked up Michael Keaton's filmography and he's not listed for a sequel. --- Aside from that, I don't see a BeetleJuice sequel happening as long as Tim Burton is alive. Talk of a Ghostbusters sequel/reboot had been happening for years and the movie didn't get made until after Harold Ramis's death, and it sucked. Some big studio head was waiting for someone important to the franchise (Ramis) to die so there wouldn't be so much conflict as to impede "their vision". That's probably the same story with BeetleJuice. I could be wrong though.

About the spelling of the name, when I was really young, my headcanon then was that they couldn't spell it the same way three times or Beetlejuice would appear. Later, it became that Beetlejuice just didn't know how to spell his own name. 😂
The Beetlejuice musical is SOOOO good! I saw it in DC last October (2018), and it's great. It definitely wouldn't get a PG rating if it were a movie though; it would probably be an R rating, as they use a LOT of cursing and sexual jokes... And drug references.

Sadly, the name difference reason is absolutely correct. Although the correct spelling is BETELGEUSE, the movie promoted the name as BEETLE JUICE so that most people would know how to say his name correctly, and make it seem more interesting. Lest, they would have called him BE-tal-GISE, which makes no sense. Most people do NOT know basic Astronomy. Just as during Superbowl XL, most people asked "What is Superbowl Extra Large?" as they didn't know XL = 40.

I don't know a whole lot about this but I can tell you the English language evolved over thousands of years it shares a common ancestor with French, German, Spanish and Arabic. Arabic is where we get a lot of our mathematics terms like algebra, also where the word Betelgeuse comes from. "Beetle Juice" is just a phonetic similarity.
As a kid I went to an amusement park and there was a Beetlejuice character actor. Took a picture with him and when I ran back to my parents, he had grabbed my suspenders. Turned me into a human Yo-Yo and made me cry. I was far to young to realize how brilliant he was for the part. And no, I wasn't wearing my shirt as pants.

I don't know if someone can make the hawaian sequel work, but I've seen enough good stuff to know that there're no bad ideas, just bad executions.

While I personally have no problem with simple leg touching (even I rolled my eyes at his remark), I can absolutely see someone not being okay with other physical things, like nudity and/or sex scenes. They may just be acting like they're attracted to each other, but they're still actually physically touching each other. Just because they're getting paid to do it wouldn't make it okay (unless, of course, both parties, the actors/actresses and the people they're in a relationship with, are okay with it). Take the money/job aspect away and it would be viewed, rightfully so, as cheating. Money doesn't somehow make the situation any less gross.

I have this DVD I must have wash it well over a hundred times it is one of my absolute favorites. And I still missed everything that was brought up in this video LOL maybe I have to watch it a hundred more times to get it right LOL great video.
I live in the same neighborhood that Michael Keaton grew up in. 6 doors down to be exact. My mother graduated with him (still friendly), and because of the hometown hero thing he's always been my favorite actor. He's actually in my moms contacts still as Michael Douglas. Sadly, I've only met him a few times for less then an hour combined, but what a great, genuine, real person he is. Truly one of the most down to earth celebrities.

I was at Universal Orlando this summer and they brought out Beetlegeuce. The guy did a great job of the character and the makeup department was superb. Definitely one of my favorite movies.
I have been a fan of Michael Keaton's since this movie. He always said that this was his favorite role to play, because he could really let loose. He said this is the only movie he's done so far that he would do a sequel to, because he had so much fun.
Beetlejuice goes to Hawaii sounds much more interesting, but then again I'm not some cool hipster.

I always figured the different spellings were because he couldn't tell someone his name. Charades scene with Lydia for example. His ads being spelled close as he could, without telling his name. Great video!
