@Rand V Oh, HONEY, I love when someone who is 24 thinks they know about the earl internet. What came out in 1983 wasn't the internet that you're thinking of. It was only available to universities and researchers, and it wasn't used to communicate with people or socialize. It was used to access research articles and the like via hyperlinks and available to a closed (inter) network (net). The World Wide Web (meant for the WORLD), which could be used for personal contact, was released in 1991, and access was privileged. Most home computers weren't compatible with it, and those who had computers that could run it and the ability to connect to the WWW were charged an hourly fee. This didn't change until the very end of 1996. Until then, the WWW wasn't used for socializing or chatting with fans of movies. You paid $9.95 for the first five hours a month, then $2.95 per hour after that. That would be about $17 and $5 today accounting for inflation. When AOL started a monthly flat fee of $19.95, or about $35 today, those who had computers that would run the WWW started connecting, but there was a catch. It would tie up your phone line, and the connection was so incredibly slow that people often kept books at their computers to read while "image heavy" pages loaded. It could take a couple minutes for a single photo, which is why so many early webpages used lots of bright neon colors instead. That loaded faster. You don't understand the difference between the internet and the world wide web. Despite calling them both "the internet" now, they weren't the same things at all, and technically still aren't. When Edward Scissorhands came out, there literally were NOT websites for movie fans, and the internet was literally for rich people only, and even they didn't have websites for people to bullshit around on. At that time, the internet was a research tool. So, HONEY, I really suggest you take a step back and stop pretending that your conceited Gen Z self knows anything about the early internet and WWW, especially when talking to people who were there, and stop patronizing those who were. I don't know why I always got a Jim Carrey feel from this movie. I think it's because it reminds me a lot of the Truman Show, with the perfect homes and everything.

Okay, not gonna lie. But I would've loved to have seen MJ as Edward scissorhands! Don't get me wrong Johnny Depp did an amazing job and I wouldn't change it, but I would at least liked to have seen MJ dressed as Edward. Like he had the soft voice and shy persona just like Edward.
Troy McIver: That way they can piss away the budget on Special Effects and have very little money left over to hire decent Screenwriters. Hence the lame-ass plot lines that permeates a vast majority of movies made in the U.S. today.
Uh because its more cost and time effective and people can’t tell the difference because the technology is that well developed... Guess you’re not in the industry, moron.
For those of you talking about abuse. It was all a lie. She did it for the money. The police proved the abuse was a lie. Johnny's exes backed him up and Amber's exes said Amber was a liar and a known abuser. She dropped the charges as soon as she got what she wanted...money. She is not a victim and he is not an abuser.
I was at a party saturday and this guy said he did Johnny Depp impressions, so before everyone yelled the obvious and easy "Jack Sparrow" I requested Edward Scissorhands and of course it was rejected.
Edward Scissorhands was also Vincent Price's last movie. The producers almost fired him because he was so ill from emphysema that he was having problems getting his scenes filmed. Burton, wanting to keep Price on cut the actor's scenes down to 3 and Price was able to complete his part.
I saw this back in 1999 and it opened up my interest in gothic art and literature and goth aesthetics. I was just five years old in 99 and the film has stayed with me pretty much my entire life.

You know what, 1990s Michael Jackson really wouldn’t be a bad actor for Edward Scissorhands, it kinda fits when you know the way Michael Jackson talks and speaks
This is one of my fav movies ever. And it has to be one of the greatest Tim Burton's movies ever. It's such a classic; the acting, the scenario, the story and the music, THE FUCKING MUSIC! Danny Elfman is a genius. I think the problem with Burton now is that he stopped putting his heart in his movies. I feel like the just directs the movies, but doesn't love them.
I love how they didn't wan Johnny Depp in the first place is because they didn't Edward to be seen as a heart throb because of Johnny's persona back in the day. But I feel like Johnny and Edward both became even more of a heart throb Plus I feel like anything Johnny Depp plays in is just automatically attractive
i would love to see a Beetlejuice one for sure! I enjoy watching these videos and i learn a lot of things that i didn't actually know about some of these movies
the Tampa suburb was Land-O-Lakes there was a basement scene houses in all of Tampa bay area have no Basements also the pastel houses were painted for the move than returned to the earth tones common to the area
Johnny Depp appeared in Nightmare on Elm Street and his hands look like Freddy Krueger in Edward Scissorhands I guess Freddy gave him hands after drowning in the bed.
Once spoke with the head Sound Designer of Edward Scissorhands. He said the actual prop hands made god awful crunching/grinding noises. And they had to carefully replace the sounds of his hands with foley recordings of swords, knives, shears, and scissors. Apparently they looked far and wide to find the most "ethereal" sounding blades to do this.
Dustin Hoffman was considered for the role of Bill Boggs. But he was unavailable because he was busy shooting Dick Tracy (1990). i seen the abovve on IMDB and i thought: "He was bust shooting Dick Tracy? Is he dead now?

Fun fact my mom is best friends with one of the actors who played Rinona Riders friends. It was pretty cool listening to her talking about how deep Johnny got to get in his role.
Okay, not gonna lie. But I would've loved to have seen MJ as Edward scissorhands! Don't get me wrong Johnny Depp did an amazing job and I wouldn't change it, but I would at least liked to have seen MJ dressed as Edward. Like he had the soft voice and shy persona just like Edward.
no!
Why can't Edward scissor hands can't run...
Don't run with scissors
lmao
Lol
I love Johnny! I love the way he says Edward!
I thought it would totally be mentioned that Winona Ryder is actually blonde, for real.
It would be amazing if you guys did the holy trifecta of Winona Rider movies (Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, and Heathers) on here
Dracula tho.
I think anyone can agree Michael Jackson would have been EPIC
Yes!!! However, casting Tom Cruise would’ve been horrid! TG that didn’t happen!
Too freaking shy!
U have my last name
no
@@toni-en7xm LMAO trueeeeee, especially when he (Johnny Depp) says "I can't." to Kim (Winona Ryder) when she asks him to hold her.
Why would you even use CGI for a simple practical effect even NOW?
Right it's just a hair cut lol
LOL was wondering the same, like wtf m8
G Note Unfortunately they do and that's why movies these days are so crap.Like so fake you cant believe any of what is going on.
Things you didn't know about Edward scissor hands....
They used practical effects and cut some dogs hair. Great stuff.
Kirin 👏👏👏
I'm also underwhelmed by this video.
At least someone knows and believes the damn truth. Thank you!
And now the whole world knows this thank goodness
Edward Scissorhands is my absolute favorite movie lol
I was at a party saturday and this guy said he did Johnny Depp impressions, so before everyone yelled the obvious and easy "Jack Sparrow" I requested Edward Scissorhands and of course it was rejected.
Michael Jackson would have been awesome.
no
Drunk Vegan Gal dude shutup
This is my favorite movie. 😌Such a wonderful work by Tim Burton, and an amazing performance by Johnny Depp.
Baemari Loves life mj would have done it better
Have you done a "7 things you didn't know about CineFix"?
Probably! 😉
+TheJenSolo lol nice one
Nick M Number 1: It ruins the most beautiful film in the world
Gary Oldman as Edward? Yeah, I can see that.
Someone in 7th grade told me I looked like Edward Scissorhands. I believed them because I spent most of that year sleep deprived.
Beetlejuice...
Beetlejuice!
BEETLE-FUCKIN-JUICE!!!
Beetlejuice!
Fuuuuuuuucccckk.... what have I done.....
It's Showtime
Edward Scissorhands was also Vincent Price's last movie. The producers almost fired him because he was so ill from emphysema that he was having problems getting his scenes filmed. Burton, wanting to keep Price on cut the actor's scenes down to 3 and Price was able to complete his part.
4:49 wait so Woody, The Grinch, Iron Man, and the King of Pop volunteered to be Edward Scissorhands?
two pukes for however many million dollars sounds ok to me!
He wouldn't have been making that kind of money yet. He was fresh off TV. This role helped him get to that kind of money though!
Imagine thinking of Johnny Depp as “just another teenage heart throb”
Absa-fucking-lotely I want a Things you Didn't Know on Beetlejuice
WHERE IS MY "CORALINE 7 THINGS BLA BLA BLA...." VIDEO?!
YASSSS GIVE MY BOY ROBERT SMITH CREDIT
YES!! Please do Beatlejuice! But in the meantime, how amazing would Oldman have been as Edward??
You don't need a rubber suit and ambrosia for Florida to make you puke.
I love Johnny Depp but how cool would it have been if MJ played the role instead?
This was also Vincent Price's last movie
"Shitty Tim burton movies" wow -.-
No respect! (lol)
There couldn't be a better actor in the world of actors that could play Edward better.
But seriously was Edward a cyborg or robot
If so how could he eat
@@arcanefury121 he's an "artificial human" according 2 the tim burton wiki. ;)
I saw this back in 1999 and it opened up my interest in gothic art and literature and goth aesthetics. I was just five years old in 99 and the film has stayed with me pretty much my entire life.
robert smith yay!
!!!
My favourite movie ever I watch it every year on my birthday and Christmas Eve. When I met Johnny I said Edward Scissorhands is my favourite he said it was a special movie 😍😭😍

My Favorite Movie of alll time!!! ❤
BEETLEJUICEEEEEEEEEEE PLIZ!!
You know what, 1990s Michael Jackson really wouldn’t be a bad actor for Edward Scissorhands, it kinda fits when you know the way Michael Jackson talks and speaks
Wait, so how many things do we not know about Tim Burton's couch?
Did you know there was a roach clip on his pinky finger so he could smoke weed while on set?
Incredibly strange movie concept if you think about it
I'm in the town, now, that Edward Scissorhands was filmed in. :-)
None of Tim Burton's movies are shitty.
In my top 5 favorite films of all time..... Soundtrack is also in my top 5 favorite scores of all time. The music is just absolutely beautiful!
Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! BEETLEJUICE!
but the original concept for Beetlegeuse was terrifying
I love how they didn't wan Johnny Depp in the first place is because they didn't Edward to be seen as a heart throb because of Johnny's persona back in the day. But I feel like Johnny and Edward both became even more of a heart throb
Plus I feel like anything Johnny Depp plays in is just automatically attractive
Agreed, even in pirates of the Caribbean as captain Jack sparrow he was still very attractive and handsome
Agreed
Yes do Beetlejuice that use to be my favorite movie when I was a kid!
i would love to see a Beetlejuice one for sure! I enjoy watching these videos and i learn a lot of things that i didn't actually know about some of these movies
Beatle Juice, Beatle Juice, Beatle Juice! I said 3 times now he must appear in his own 7 things..
*Beetle. Beatle is the band
***** ha, damn auto correct. My bad.
It's actually spelled Betelgeuse, just pronounced Beetle Juice.
the Tampa suburb was Land-O-Lakes there was a basement scene houses in all of Tampa bay area have no Basements also the pastel houses were painted for the move than returned to the earth tones common to the area
*Awesome Tim Burton movies with Johnny Depp.
Fixed that for you.
Johnny Depp appeared in Nightmare on Elm Street and his hands look like Freddy Krueger in Edward Scissorhands I guess Freddy gave him hands after drowning in the bed.
Do we want you to do one on Beetlejuice? How is that even a question?
5:26
Is Alice in Wonderland bad? I love that movie I think it's one of the best to me
nice nod to Monty Python "It's only a model" can't wait to see the inevitable follow of of seven MORE things about Edward Scissorhands
I love all of these "Things you didn't know". You should do the First two RoboCop's. 😁😁😁😁😎
Epic comment!
Thanx bro
They did cover the first Robocop back in 2014, but they really should cover the second one.
I forgot they did the first one
Why not the 3rd? Just because Peter Weller wasn't in it doesn't mean it was total crap.
🎶 They are SCISSORS 🎵
-if Michael Jackson were Edward-
tim burton for the rest of summer yeeeeey
johnny depp + tim burton= MASTERPIECE
They should make an Edward Scissorhands sitcom
Dustin Hoffman was considered for the role of Bill Boggs. But he was unavailable because he was busy shooting Dick Tracy (1990).
i seen the abovve on IMDB and i thought: "He was bust shooting Dick Tracy? Is he dead now?
YES PLEASE DO BEETLEJUICE !!!!
