    Dude, thanks for this. I'd been futzing with that radio for an hour when I finally searched for a video. It's a little long, and that blaring noise is AWFUL, but you taught me the trick and best you showed why it worked, not just how to do it.

    of the several different 'how to' vids I viewed, this one was the simplest and most helpful of all of them all, imho..and showing how the prong tool actuates the clips was especially helpful (at least for me, lol)..well done sir, thanks for sharing, happy trails 👍😊

    Thanks for making this video!! It helps me so much on how much wire hanger to use and not push it to far in the radio. It was giving me a hard time to take it out now I see the problem thanks to you!! Bravo you save me money😂😂❤

    Thank you!!
    There is sooo many videos of foxbody radio install, but every single one of them cut the part of removing the stock radio, I reported all their videos out of spite.
    Thank you for helping me.

    Bless you, man. I fought with the right side clips using actual DIN tools, and it was locked up solid. I got frustrated driving around searching for replacement clips as I was planning to drill them out, and I stopped in a walmart, bought a hanger like this, and POP it came RIGHT OUT.

    Thanks . Great video. When you showed the clips on the stereo, that was awesome. It let me see just how it was held in place.

    Thanks so much for showing how to use a coat hanger to remove the radio. I was going to purchase a DT1 tool before watching your video. Glad I didn't by it, would have only used it once.

    Thanks - Had forgotten how to do it.
    I think I used a selection of small screw drivers and drill bits.

    Seemed to work OK.

    Great video. Worked perfectly on my 94 Ford Escort. My only problem is installing a new, aftermarket radio. The retainer or outer metal piece won't fit the opening and the indash kit dont work either. Still figuring it out

    • @onemanwreckincrew
      @onemanwreckincrew 3 года назад

      Working on my 1993 Ranger and have the same problem. Looks like the rectangular opening is not quite standard DIN size. Thanks Ford. Also ... the rear of the stock radio is held secure by a tongue and groove plastic slider affixed to the rear of the radio ... it engages sheet metal at the lower area of the opening. Crutchfield was clueless ... if one does not want his new aftermarket radio bouncing around ... then a way must be found to secure the old plastic piece to the new radio. ARGH.

      Working on my 1993 Ranger now. Looks like the rectangular opening is not quite standard DIN size. Thanks Ford. This will have to be widened about at least a millimeter or two. Also ... the rear of the stock radio is held secure by a tongue and groove plastic slider affixed to the rear of the radio ... it engages sheet metal at the lower area of the opening. Crutchfield was clueless ... if one does not want his new aftermarket radio bouncing around ... then a way must be found to secure the old plastic piece to the new radio. ARGH. Get the harness converters to make life easy.

      I just changed out my old radio and didn't have to remove the dash. just the two screws above the a/c controls and the whole thing came out. didn't need the wire hangers either.
