Great tutorial. Showing how to insert the U-Clips (Radio Pullers) outside of the truck made it much easier to understand how to go about removing the factory installed radio. Thanks for taking the time to make and share this video clip.

There are several videos on RUclips of people removing the factory stereo by taking out the bezel with the radio still inside, because they didn’t have those u shaped removal tools. You’re the only video I have found that actually used the correct tool to take out the radio. Thanks! Well done!

Thanks for pointing out that jamming them in doesn't work. Took this video to figure out why it looked so easy in other videos. You rock.

😊 thanks. I was in the "if a little is good then a lot is better" camp when I was first tried to figure out how far to push them in. It wasn't until I got the radio out and could see clearly the interaction between the spring clips on the radio and the divots on the tool that I understood exactly how the two worked together.

thank you so much for posting this video! I've watched many others and none of them gave that trick of not pushing them into deeply.thank you so much for posting this video! I've watched many others and none of them gave that trick of not pushing them into deeply. Perhaps, I'm one of those guys who says if a little bit is good then a lot must be better, but I was definitely pushing it into deeply and therefore it was stuck and would not come out. You save me such a headache!

I’d like to see more detail on pulling the wiring plugs, mine have never been removed, and LESS on those damn U-pullers. I need to know if there is a catch on the power plug, it doesn’t want to come out.

Hi Dianita, I'm glad the video helped. When I first tried to remove the radio I struggled but it's pretty simple once you see how it works!

I pushed them I too far, no dice. Now I get it just the tip.
Next time I’ll get it confidence is high. Reason is just to put a display bulb in it .

I wish it worked this easy, previous owner must have destroyed it. I can easily push the tools all the way in and all the way out, there is a time where it slightly clicks when you slide it in gently but when you push out it just clicks like it's not grabbing the pieces and if you pull the tools just slide out. I guess I'll have to use the hammer method to remove the radio.
