Wicked! My 2004 M3 needs its head gasket changed now, at 122k miles on the motor. This video is so good, reminds me of when I straight piped my E36 before the E46, sounds GREAT. This video makes me so jealous, my poor M3 is just sitting in the garage waiting for the appt with the shop. At least when she's done, she'll have a Cut/Cooper Ring gasket which should be an absolute bulletproof solution w/ ARP2000! Lots of ppl have been going with MLS, but this requires the head to be machined meticulously, and I hear over time the MLS tends to separate between the layers.
E46 and the e92 m3 are the nicest m3's ever made
Really cool car! It must be insanely loud in person though because ours runs a Ti axle back and is pretty loud! That rasp and tone is amazing though!

This car sounds amazing! Wonder how much of a difference it will make with different brands of pipes I have a full exhaust system except for the headers I have them in my garage need to get a smog before installing them because of the laws in Cali

Front wheels on the ZCP and CSL E46 M3's have a different width. CSL's are .5" wider.
Thank you for reiterating and clarifying that US market ZCP wheels are not the same as euro CSL wheels.

I just picked up this cars twin, a carbon black on cinnamon 2004 lol. But he says straight piped but then says he put a titanium exhaust.. so is it straight piped with a muffler? Straight pipe to me means no cats, resonators or mufflers. I have no cats or resonators just dinan muffler and my car is no where as loud though
In this video it was catless headers, OE sec 1, OE sec 2, titanium straight through muffler. It's since been toned down. Car was stupid loud. I was referencing the OE sec 1+2 as straight pipes because there isn't anything restricting flow there.
In the flyby it almost sounds like a gt3 rs 2016.
You might have done this already, but if your'e not a fan of the rasp sound, get a section1 ar20 resonator. A single should be enough. Looking at about ~$150, unless you can weld yourself.

But I have a question you said the car puts 330 HP at the wheels which is great! Compared with the 333 HP at the crank (Canadian/U.S..stock model) from factory. However the torque figure you give (262tq) is the exact number our cars quote for factory. SHouldn't there be some difference after the different you have with your mods? Or am I just confused (It's happened before). Thanks for the great vid!!
It made 335 whp/252 ft/lbs at 8400 RPM. It's got a built head with cams, retainers, springs etc. It has more potential to make more power but I wanted it to be some what reliable.

Can anybody explain why 245 in the front and 275 in back?
GRM the stock staggered setup is 225/255, so the max for front and back on OEM wheels would be 245/40 front and 275/35 on the rear for more rubber
I have watched this video probably 25 times, never once had i caught him saying that he put the Dinan differential in it. $2,200 for a diff, even better than the stock one...
It has a Dinan 3.91 LSD in it. Was actually rebuilt about 3 years ago.

It's all bolt ons....330whp is great for what he did...now if he decides to upgrade internals he'll easily achieve 400+ no problem
Well 330 wheel is about 380 or so at the crank. Thats impressive for an 3.2 NA inline 6. Obviously forced induction is the way these days now. NA are becoming the thing of the past.

The CSL sounds extremely raspy, I think you're talking about induction sound rather than the exhaust note.

tylersevo 06 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder has a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds... a 2006 M3 Convertible does it in 5.1. Its almost as quick for 1/3 of the price
I disagree, all bark and no bite is a v8 mustang with an obnoxious exhaust, saw one tonight kid stepped on it and it wouldn't even break tires loose

+ghostmarkings Wat...no. I know people at my local car meets with E46 M3s stock and not stock and they all said when they were stock it dynoed between 325-334 depending on which car and condition of it
jesus fucking christ..sounds like someone threw a spoon in a fucking blender...these motors are raspy as hell when straight piped with a cheap ebay exhaust...custom pipes all the way!
It's cause of the resonator
+JDMxlove im just gonna assume you know nothing about cars or engines in general..do you know what a resonater does? its reduces rasp and exhaust frequencies drastically...not make it louder...all that rattling and "shaking rocks in a can" like sounds that you are hearing are coming from the muffler..these engines already make a specific mettalic noise because thats just the nature of the s54 engine it comes with..but throwing a full straight pipe exhaust system on it just makes it worst.
