I got 17z on my B5, and I shaved all those pad posts down in advance so they wouldn't scrape like that. For rotors, I run a Volvo set, but the Mercedes option is quite popular. I didn't like them as much due to a smaller nominal thickness from factory that is prone to warping.

I was always wanting a simplied version of this how to. I found the 18z at my parts store awhile back (1 year) for 113 dollars. Each reman.

Yeah i have been putting off the swap for my Audi 8U Q3, I got the 4 piston calipers off the Porsche Macan but worried I'm going to run into a issue like this. but i already bought the lines from England and the S3 rotors to go with it.
I like real videos, sometimes it's not smooth and easy. Keep up the good work.
I have the same set up, run 17z pads and ML rotors, the hub needs to be bore out a mm. That’s all

What’s the smallest wheel they would work with I have 17s off a 06 s4 on my 97 a4
Chip gas did a video I think you can also use v70 r rotors in the front and simply drill out the five lungs to a slightly larger size Hub bore is correct

Oh man. I'm working on selling my B5 then shooting to buy a B9 SQ5 at some point next year. After watching @Need4Built I'd rather have the stage 3 potential down the line. Looks like a great family/fun vehicle. I can't imagine the B8.5 will ever get near those power levels without serious work.
Max effort B9 is faster. Interior quality is better too. Everything else the B8.5 does miles better. Drive both, you’ll understand

Bummer on the rotor man. I know there’s a lot of content on 18z and 17z online, but honestly, it gets confusing and jumbled up as there’s a lot of unique options. Posi-vibes, you’ll sort it.
