Good info!
Had to share 🙏🏼
The machining for the ears has to be done for z17's as well? As for hardware I was not ready to pay 100+ for nuts and bolts, so found MAN truck propshaft has the size and grade what I needed, part numbers FE12327 and FE02140, for the bushings I used brass pipe OD16mm ID 14mm and just cut to size.
That’s good info! I figured by the time I found the info and went to the hardware store it would be worth $100. Regarding machining for 17z it just depends on the rotor you use … likely needs some mods even if using stock rotor

I think he flipped them right side up before the video ended.
Hi , great video thanks.
I will be trying to fit 18z calipers on my A4 B7 (2005) Avant.
Is it pretty much the same process ? 245mm X 32mm Mercedes discs and shaving the ears of the calipers ? Or is mine slightly different?
Thanks
Oh and what Merc were the discs meant to fit ?
Stu
I bought the rotors based on the spec so not sure which Benz they are for - you’ll want to find out the rotor hat height for your stock rotors and then get a rotor with a few mills of that - I’d check rotor lab site to see if they have a recommended rotor - I night these www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PWGQORU?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
What about the rear ?
Rear has slotted drilled brembo rotors and upgraded pads. You can upgrade rears with Brembo calipers as well but then I believe you have to add an ebrake solution
im wanting to do this to my c5 s6.. prob use jhm rotors for weight and not having to grind the calipers. My hold up is wheels. Have 18" two piece bbs rs-gt and im not sure theyll fit in there. any way you could measure the setups overall size with the rotor on there? see if the numbers work for these bbs before i pull the trigger.
And, how do they feel when driving?
I’d be happy to make a measurement are you looking for diameter conflict with the barrel or caliper conflict with spoke?- What is the offset of your BBS? My Oettinger wheels are 35 ET. Pedal feel is similar to stock brakes but stopping is much better, I’ve not done any Canyon runs yet… also I will bleed my brakes again to see if the pedal feel is gets more firm
@@AutoAfflicted yup, barrel conflict is why i ask. wheels are 32 ET and will prob space them to like 25 ET all said and done. just worried id get it all together and they don't clear. stoked they feel good for ya!
@jamesewing9037 I can fit my 18s over them, as long as you don’t have a balance weight conflict you should have no issues
