a 6MT plus the 3.0 TFSI would really be a perfect fit for this car, AND a chance to have a manual experience for the TFSI that you didn't have with your S4 :) Best of luck brother
Super excited to see this build. As a fellow B8 avant owner, I am looking to accomplish the 3.0T manual swap. Just haven't committed to it yet. Looking forward to seeing what it takes and whether its something I can accomplish!
I’d be super interested to see the adaptation numbers on the cams, I can’t believe they’ve gone this long without failing. Also that energy management code usually means you’ve got a battery one foot in the grave 👍🏻👍🏻
@@onedadsgaragenobody seems to be reading here… it’s at 6.6! The car is also consuming about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles as far as I can tell, but it has cheap valvoline 5W30 in it. Likely has had the chain done before, but probably not piston rings
This is SO @IgnitionTUBE. 24 hrs and major mods underway already. This is gonna be the best All-Road when it is all done. Tell Mike I want to Koenigsegg!
Really excited to see how the 3.0T swap goes. Thought I'd give you some info on the codes. Stabalization fault when you entered Brake (02) is normal. It always throws that code when accessing via OBDeleven since the module is basically put into a "diag" mode, until you leave the module on OBDeleven. Energy management active means that the battery was low and so the car's modules entered a low power-state and disabled unnecessary module functions.
Amazing how modules have a low power state, but if you leave an interior light on by accident then it leaves it on til the battery goes flat.. ridiculous lol
@@BarbecuedPossum I think the same thing to. When my car battery went flat because I left my overhead light on, it didn't turn the overhead lights off. It instead let my battery go completely flat and then made sure to leave the side-marker lights on so my car is visible at night time.
Very excited for this project! This is the project the channel needs, feel like B9 SQ5 season of the channel didn’t have the same energy as B8 S4 and B8.5 SQ5. I’m all for 6MT swap to build the car the US never got and make a grail wagon, but totally understand if you go ZF8, it’s a great trans. Cheers to a great kickoff on a new project
Excited to follow this build. I know a company in California does this swap but haven’t seen anyone else do it. And I’d love to do the same in the future 🤘🏼
Great to see you back in the B8.5 dude. I've still got my B8.5 Rs4 which brings me to my suggestion... you've scratched the 3.0 lump... its time you got a 8500rpm 4.2 V8 lump in that boat 🏴
Dude hell yeah. I just picked up a 12' Avant Premium Plus off marketplace for 4k. Has 177k on the body and the motor was rebuilt by Audi at 105k. It was a fleet vehicle and has a crazy detailed maintenance history. Runs and drives great. But, I bought it for one reason and that's an S4 swap. I've been keeping an eye on the MercRacing TVS1900 as well as UWrenchItAuto and his twin-charge kit they are working on.. Things for the 3.0 about to get much more interesting with 034 & Jackel supporting as well. So, my motor build is a few years time-line. Mainly just to traveling so much for work.. I'm in the midst of installing the Air Lift 3H kit and just installed the 10.25" RSNav (360* Kit) the other day. Highly recommend the RSNav for a huge OEM+ look for the interior.
Great project!!! I was thinking about doing the same. I already have a B8 S4 so i just need a crappy allroad to swap the drive train. I will hope to see more of this project! keep posting videos ✌✌
I hope you got the second key from that shady person, especially if you're keeping that ignition in the build. Otherwise, he has a key to take your car.
Oh man love to see some allroad content, if it wasn’t for vw offering a manual with the alltrack I would be in one of these! Love the white with silver accents
That is so awesome. I’m definitely looking forward to the wagon content. Very avid wagon guy. I’ve had 2 b5 a4 wagons. Currently daily a golf alltrack and have a a3 vr6 dsg wagon out front. If you get it together in time you’ll have to take it to avantoberfest
With every fiber of my being, please make this the ball road. The B8 series can fit the CFSI engine from the RS5 because it was the same base for the RS4 avant sold everywhere else. If you’ve get an RS5 of the same generation swap internet V8, transmission and Quattro system. N/a 450hp V8.
Personally I'm a big fan for the Allroad...north America's answer to the UK estate car. Definitely needs an engine swap for something with a supercharger tho.
This is crazy awesome and crappy at the same time. I didn't get a notification for this!! 🤬 But congrats on the buy, Eli. It's the same white I also have, except my flares were painted from the factory lol. By golly, I never knew there were allroads with that many miles on the road. Barely broke 100k on my '13. They are fun/peppy cars and have the ZF8 as well. 👌 Very safe and utilitarian. Cannot wait to see the Frankenstein build, you are about to embark... Best of luck my friend. 💪🙏
This is sick was hoping you were gonna do a 3.0T swapped wagon after your video with your buddies blue one. Why won't Audi give us a s4 avant in America, its a crime!
Congrats Eli! This looks like it will be a fun build! A 3.0TT with a ZF transmision? I don't think I have seen one. I would say either that or a manual.
Do a 4.0t or 3.0t with the ZF Oleg Popov put a S8 4.0t and a ZF8HP55 in an S5, he would be a good resource for your swap. Sport diff would be an option for the car as well
Sport diffs can be a complete nightmare.. I had endless issues with mine. Pumps, sensors, diff ecus all shitting the bed not a good time. I actually replaced the sport diff with the standard one (as long as you get the matching axles they swap no other issues) and JXB have a mechanical lsd I'll be putting in it eventually.
If 1 door touch sensor fails the whole system disables btw. The ABS sensors are surprisingly cheap (I got a bosch rr one for my b8 s4 and it was £25 brand new delivered). Personally would go 6mt or ZF. The dsg is fun and all but has too many issues it can have and if tuning it then its much easier on the other 2. Also if you want to go 4.0t that engine with these weak clutchpacks etc wouldnt work well but the others could
There used to be a video on youtube of a guy who swapped a CFSA motor and drivetrain from an RS5 into an allroad and it was called the "ballroad." Just an idea
@@IgnitionTube no no no, turn off only in manual mode so that enjoy the fuel cut at redline. RS has this on B9. But it depends on different people’s preference
