@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks for putting these videos! You saved me countless hours of research and a LOT of money :) Out of curiosity, is there really any difference in taste between machines such as the Dedica and the high end prosumer products provided the coffee and milk is the same? I used a Simonelli Musica before and I am getting pretty much similar results with the Dedica and I haven't really dialed the latter in completely. This makes me wonder what the advantage of those expensive machines really is.
Planning to buy this. Searched for the model and landed here. It’s so informative and very well explained. Thank you very much. Loved watching this, and you explaining so beautifully. 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills with us in such an approachable way. I'm a beginner when it comes to coffee, and I really appreciate how you explained things - starting with basic and then moving on to more advanced methods, but without making it look daunting. You made the whole process look feasible, and now I'm even more interested in learning beyond the basic stuff.
The secret to great coffee is the beans or ground coffee you use, good quality, and also either a mix of two or three types of beans. I use a stovetop Percolator, I think in America they call them Moka Espresso Pot. This method takes longer, however, I think it does a better job of making better-tasting coffee espresso than the machines.
@@Mav_F Thanks for this tip! Sadly, I don't have a gas stove top as it's not allowed in my condo. I use an induction cooker instead, and I've tried using a moka pot on this cooker and it was terrifying to determine when it was time to take the pot off the cooker. There was a time the pot made a booming sound because there was too much pressure, I think? I also burned myself a couple of times. So umm I will be staying away from moka pots for some time. 😭
@@sabbathunlimited Oh not good. By the way, you can put it on any type of stovetop. You turn off the stove just before the coffee reaches the bottom of the Spigot hole if you put enough water in it. You should hear it coming up, not sure what the boom sound was. (Don't leave it on the stove or while it's not coming out anymore or you will burn the rubber and then it's not good anymore to use). You can use a teatowel to remove it from the stove carefully and then stir the coffee with a teaspoon to mix it properly then slowly pour it into a cup. When you aren't used to it, it can be difficult. I was brought up with it as a child as my parents are Italians.
I purchased this model and a bottomless porta filter a couple of days ago to replace my Breville 3 in one, after seeing your down to earth no BS reviews on this model I`m quite confident I`ll be happy.
After watching this video, I have bought this machine and I am very satisfied with it. That is the best machine I've ever had before. However I would like to tell about a little tip in order to better optimize its use. The filter is made in a cylindrical shape on its upper part and then takes a conical shape in its lower part. I found that it was preferable to fill the filter with coffee so that once pressed, it does not exceed the line which separates the cylindrical shape at the top from the conical one at the bottom in order to avoid problems with the filter holder engaging the machine. 7g of coffee like it is indicated on the user manual it's Ok, but 14g for the 2 cups filter, it's a little too much, I encountered problem with the filter holder engaging the machine with this quantity of coffee. Hoping that this little tip could be useful to someone.
What kind of problem? In Greece we put at Fredo Espesso 17-18 grams for the shaked cold coffee....The machine will brake what ...Can we use 2 doses of 9 grams to make it?And how long do we wait between 2 servings?
I’m in Thailand and seeing this machine frequently at homes I’ve stayed in. In USA I see delonghi machines and used to own one but not this model. It’s fun to use. I have a Breville that I really like a lot after owning maybe a half dozen machines. It’s super reliable and they also have great customer service and repairs. One service in about ten years.
I bought a bottomless portafilter with a normal basket and I think that actually the bottomless portafilter wasn’t really necessary, the espresso has the same taste only with the non pressurised basket on the original portafilter. I tried both and actually think that the original portafilter fits much more tightly the machine . I want to actually buy a two way portafilter like in the professional machines. And can do two single coffees as well if I want to. My machine is Delonghi Icona 15 bars, I have also Alessi Cuban 8 bars and this one really makes much nicer espresso !! With the same grind and coffee as Delonghi it produces more cream and fills the cup slowly not like the Delonghi ,can berely reach 20 sec. The machines play a big role for a good coffee .
I have been using this machine alongside a Graef CM 800 for a number of years now. I bought them on sale for just a total of 210€. Both machines have a whole lot of critics on the internet, but I am very happy with the coffee they produce. Thanks for showing some potential improvements that I am going to explore.
I bought the machine and the portafilter was very difficult hard to turn to lock. So I just put just a bit of vegetable oil with ear cleaner stick on the silicon gasket and on lock places. Now it goes so smooth.
@@revesup yeah 😊 But, it's just needed at a very first running the machine process. After that, a grease from the coffee will form a film and it will run smoothly on it's own.
Thank you for that video. I just bought this machine for my grandma as a xmas gift. Your movie is very helpfull to explain her how to make coffe with this.
Great review Tom!.Have had the Dedica for a year now (black) & recently modified the portafilter to bottomless with a HUGH basket (Amazon). It’s made a great little machine even better!.It’s an easy choice when looking to upgrade to the new Dedica Arte machine which you’ve also reviewed
your videos made me realize I didn't need to buy more expensive options than the Dedica, just received it on International Coffee Day, can't be a coincidence!
I did exactly what you recommended which is to get a better tamper. To be honest i got an offer on this machine with a KG79 grinder. The first espresso cup i made today i tamped it to hard still came out great, I didn’t know i don’t need to tamp it down hard cuz the trays are already pressurized. Thank you for this great video. I got the machine yesterday and tried it today
It is not expresso machine, but espresso appliance. But it is really one of the best ones. I have got EC685 at home for 4 year already and I love it. It's simple to use for beginners. I have also moved ahead with buying Eureka Mignon grinder and using whole beans fresh roast coffee with bottomless portafilter and single-wall basket. Next move will be buying a better machine such as Gaggia Classic or Rancilio Silvia.
Hi Tom, I think that when reviewing this machine, you and other RUclipsrs should really stress, that while all these accessories and techniques can be nice and make your overall experience better, it (at least from my experience) only applies to Dark roasts and pre-ground coffees but definitely not for specialty. Even when paired up with Breville Smart Grinder Pro I had a very frustrating time when trying to brew specialty medium roasts with it no matter what I tried. I've since graduated to Gaggia and will actually be picking up Breville Dual Boiler today so I've experienced that journey and would just want to warn somebody planning on brewing specialty with this to save up a bit more and get something better right off the bat instead. Hell, I might even make a video comparing the three haha. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback, Arian. Sure, it would be cool if you would make a video. Some people have had success with temp surfing with the steam mode hack. But yeah, light and medium roasts can be more difficult on economical machines. Let us know how you like the BDB. Cheers!
Great review of the Dedica machine and all its features! I took your advice, Tom, and bought a few accessories, namely, the Normcore bottomless portafilter and the tamper from Amazon. By the way, I bought my Dedica from a thrift store here in the States. It seems to be in excellent condition. The price? Just 17.00 USD!
Thanks for the zipper tip. I literally had that plastic flying into milk 2 times this week with pressure. I will zip it, since I can really make vortex without aluminum piece off.
Thank you for this video.Really helpful. I recently bought the Dedica, plus the bottomless portafilter and a Timemore Chesnut C3 Pro. So I've playing with both portafilters and different grinds with good coffee beans. What I've realized is that with the pressurised portafilter I get a softer and sweeter shot, still a good one, while with the bottomless is way more intense.
I bought the exact same haha What grind and dose settings are you using? I found I was tamping too hard at the start and also had too fine of a grind using the 7-8 clicks recommended on the C3 pro for espresso - The portafilter popped off from pressure. Finally dialed it in at 9 clicks and 19g coffee but wondering if you've had any better results?
@@evinoc I was using 7 clicks for naked portafilter and 9 for the pressurised. But I've moved to the K4 Kingrinder. Makes life much easier. But I miss the size and look of the Timemore.
@@genciestebanez1314i have the dedica and just got the k4 and a bottomless non pressurized basket portafilter. Can you help me by telling me why the extraction time increased to 75 seconds ? Compared to the normal around 25 seconds that the machine is pre programmed to run at when pressing the double cup option? I didnt change the settings on the machine yet. Should i just program the dedica to stop extracting when i reach the 2:1 ratio?
@@crabbynebula well, you have total control of the running time of the extraction. I usually use the single basket with 10-11 grs of coffee aiming to get a 1:3 ratio in around 30". So 33 grs of yield. And I always use the single cup buttom. For me the 1:2 ratio is quite a strong coffee, even with medium roast beans. Use a scale, it's your best friend to calibrate your espresso. Try always to use the same amount of coffee, and grind to get the ratio you like in 25-30". You can use the double cup buttom of the Dedica, but you´ll have to stop it once you get the desired yield. Once you know the time your beans need for the coffee you like, you can program it to stop at 25", 30" or any other time.
@@genciestebanez1314 thanks a lot for the info. My mistake...i wanted to say 75 grams not seconds. I finally switched to a more fine grind and now i get a better result. However, I still use a higher setting than what other people report when using the K4 (73-75 clicks) and i am curious why is that. Is it the coffee maybe that influences this? Other people usually say they dont do more than 65 or 68 clicks with the k4. I am curious if i could somehow test whether the coffee beans i currently have are good eg freshly roasted enough
I just purchased the Krups Divine Espresso Machine .. was searching for RUclips videos .. anyway, your video popped up .. looked like the machines had similar features so, I watched your video very nice! If i ever find myself in a situation where I would need to purchase another machine ..I think I would choose the Delonghi Dedica 😊
Thank you for this video. This helped me make up my mind, I love the variation provided when it comes to filters. Lovely design, too and would fit perfectly to my small kitchen counter. I love that I could make a "beginner" level coffe when I am in a rush in the morning, and maybe take it to the next level during the weekends, when I have more time :) Thank you!
Hallo Tom, Thanks for making these videos, they really help with the Dedica! You inspired me to buy one EC685, however I have some issues with the coffee it makes. Grinder: Timemore Slim Plus (E&B burrs) Setting: 7 (kinda dangerous for the blades) 14 g coffee, 2-3 months old, medium roast from Vietnam Bottomless portafilter with IMS 14g basket, warmed up, dried. Clumps broken up by a toothpick. I hit the bottom of the portafilter gently to the counter to increase puck density. Then I tamp. In 20 seconds more than 30-35 g of liquid goes to the cup with very slim crema. The taste is waaaay too sour. It’s bad. What else can I do to slow down the water flow? I cannot grind finer, you know it, as we have similar grinders. I tried with different beans, but i wasn’t lucky with those either.
Hi Peter, what market are you in? Maybe I could suggest some beans. Anyway, are the Vietnamese beans a lighter roast? You can try the steam mode hack. What else I found with the Timemore grinders is, that they don't grind consistently if that inner burr has too much play. Have you seen my recent video about shimming that up? It has helped the extractions to look much better. But back to the crema, that has mostly to do with the bean, and a fine grind. I might suggest a local roaster, just get 250 grams of beans 2-3 weeks off roast. Cheers! Tom
Because you have been so positive to this machine, I have now bought the 885 Arte beige with a bottomless portafilter and a Fellow Opus. Saving a lot, since I planned on buying a much more expencive machine. Have you made a dialing in video? Thanks for a great channel. Greetings from Norway
Hi Tom, thanks for this amazing, straight forward & informative review - my Dedica EC685BK is due to arrive tomorrow. Your video has given me confidence in the product I have chosen (based on basic reviews), & how to use & improve its performance. Very valuable RUclips content for me. Thank you so much.
Love your Dedica vids! My 680 has a shorter rubber froth tip and could barely dip below surface of the milk, so I upgraded to the rancillio. Turns out my favorite drink is Americano anyway but the new tip gives options.
This was all facts you spoke of man. I have had this machine for 4 years now and the bottomless portafilter is the way to go. Fresh roast coffee is always key. Thanks for this video.
Really helpful video, thank you 🙂 recently picked up a secondhand 680 and have been watching so many tutorials! Did you mention something about controling how much espresso it will deliver? Do you hold down the cup button whilst it runs, on a normal shot, then release when needed? Hopefully that makes sense! Many thanks
Like everyone else, great video. A simple and complete explanation for all of us Dedica owners. Finally, you compare the Dedica filter and the porta filter. I use Lavazza espresso italiano, when using the porta filter, cream never comes out, only coffee that doesn't even look like yours. The porta filter is of the brand Neouza / Amazon. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the answer 👍
Hello Tom. Thank you very much for that informative video that covers almost everything with the EC 685. I am using this this one for a couple of months. When I use a pre-grind beans for a French Press or have it myself with my Hario Skerton Plus, the machine is working fine. However using a freshly roasted and grind beans for espresso machine happen to clog it. With the later, I have to tamp it very firmly to have a flow. Can it be because I still use pressurized basket or the machine is not capable of providing necessary water pressure?
I just got a delonghi Dedica 785 machine, and your instructions are very helpful to me. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge! Have a good day.
Hi Tom, very good video! I have been using a dedica 685 for the last 2 months with pretty much OK results. I have been using both ESE pods and freshly roasted beans, but for some reason it seems that the extraction is better with the pods. There it takes around 23 sec to get the espresso and one can see water flows at decent flow rate while when grinding the beans myself it flows much faster (10 -12sec). Have tried grinding a bit finer but today the coffee felt really acid even though beans were roasted last week and smell pretty amazing in their bag. How fine is fine? I used a Hario mini slim plus with 3 "clicks". Should I start playing with water temperature? Or have more coffee to slow it down a bit? I'm using 9 grams per cup with default settings from ec685. Also does your steamer provides constant steam flow? In mine the pump makes a loud sound every second and the steam flow follows that pattern. I didn't hear that sound in your video so I wonder if that's normal. I can't get decent creamy milk for cappuccino i mainly get milk with lots of foam 😢
Hey Andres, thanks for watching, and thanks for your thorough comment! I have not used the Hario Slim, but for espresso you need a very fine grind, and ideally a consistent one. What size basket are you using, a single or double? 9 grams is fine for a single, but a double needs 14-16 grams. Extraction temperature will have an impact on taste (sourness or bitterness), but you first need to try getting a 2:1 ratio in 20-25 seconds. My steamer works fine...you just need to find the right angle to get a swirl going. Cheers! Tom
@@TomsCoffeeCorner I wondered if it was that ratio when you pulled the shot with the 14g in the non pressurized porta filter. It seemed to be much more liquid out then just 28g. Is there a reason why you pulled a much longer shot in the video?
Thankyou for your video.. I have watched many. The main reason is I had a lot of trouble programing the machine. No one ever mentions this. And thats important to get it right. Quite often the steamer stops too soon.Or if your not careful you get hot water going into your milk. And it dilutes the coffee.
Hello Kath! Yes, programming the machine is important, and not that intuitive. I made a short video about it here, for your reference: ruclips.net/video/M8NBbSyHDO0/видео.html Purging the steam wand is important too, to not dilute the milk. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing, I’m using a Nespresso machine now, but looking for a proper coffee with fresh beams not so expensive. The Dedica can be a good choice for me as I’m beginner in the coffee world 😊
I own one of these machines. It is great for just having morning coffee. It is not the greatest but it is way better than going to a coffee shop every morning. I recommend it. And if you live in NYC metro, Cerini coffee on Arthur Ave, can fix your machine for around 100 or so when the pump breaks. Which it will break. So it is worth repairing at least once
Hello Scott! Thanks for your comment. Actually it is normally the OPV Valve that goes, not the pump. But those can be bought for $5, and switched out yourself if you are a little handy. I made a video about it: ruclips.net/video/ncoZ3XyhWC8/видео.html But yes $100 for an overhaul in NYC is a good option too. Cheers!
Hi Tom! I bought everything, also i did modifying delonghi kg.521 for espresso. I tried to make espresso with lavazza, but I could not! Flow was too fast😢 Then I found local coffee roaster(in Kazakhstan), bought fresh Italian blend 80/20 arabica/robusta, tried it and finally got a perfect espresso 18g coffee 25seconds, 36 grams espresso. That is amazing, wanna say thank you, because of your massive content about that machine!
@@DIMHSLEON you just couldn’t put portafilter into delonghi with dose more than 14 grams with original portafilter. So my advise - do like Tom has shown. Buy bottomless portafilter, and you will get perfect shot ;-)

Um....Thank you again! I have watched your descaling video. I may not have done it correctly before. Luckily, I live in Sydney, Australia, where the water is not as harsh as other places. Thanks again!
Great video. Not ready to go barrister mode until I master phase 1. Newly bought, I followed along but this does not make hot coffee. Also, rookie question. Is the one cup for one measure of coffee grinds and two cup for two measures of coffee grinds ? So if I like double shot coffee I load 2 measures of coffee and press 2 cup?… but it going in my one cup. Also , the coffee is too potent , shots too short. I’m using hot waterspout to add water so not so strong
I've bought this machine today and am waiting to get it soon. I've also ordered a bottomless portafilter, WDT tool, funnel, tamper and puckscreen, which are all the same brand called NEOUZA. So, let's see how well the results will be. I've seen James Hoffmann didn't like this machine for the price range but let's see then. I wonder what are your thought in the long run. Thanks.
Well, I have owned this machine since 5 years in advanced mode, and I really still like it. It's not fussy, does its job, and can make a pretty good espresso and milk foam. I think James Hoffmann used it in standard mode, which is quite a different set of parameters.
Awesome video. That made up my mind about this machine. How would I know that a portafilter will be compatible with this machine? Are there any particular specifications I should look out for?
Thank you! I have some portafilters for this machine listed in the description. You can check those suggestions out, and just choose one with good ratings, which is listed to fit the EC685. Cheers!
Was mache ich falsch? :D
Tom, I have the machine and I'm just getting started. I really enjoyed this walk through. The buttons - is it as simple as 1 = 1 cup, 2 = 2 cup and the 3rd button is for starting the steam which is also activated via the side switch? You mentioned early in the tutorial programming the water amount for future fills, but it wasn't seen. Is that elsewhere? Great video - Thank you 🙏
Why can't I make another espresso straight after steaming milk? The espresso buttons flash and the only way I can do this is to switch the machine off and back on. Loved this video BTW so much I went and bought the machine so many thanks .... 😊
Please check out my website. I just published a huge review/reference on the Dedica: tomscoffeecorner.com/delonghi-dedica-the-ultimate-review/ Look at the "Reminder" section, where I talk about how the Dedica tells you what to do. Cheers!

Very nice☕ I will try this machine today. I am going now to the shop. My 10years old delonghi perfecta is broken. I need good coffee. Its gonna be epic :)
I bought this machine b/c I watched your video (of coz the Bottomless Portafilter is a must) Your video is so comfortable to watch and it is very helpful, thank you! Somehow, I am still struggling with the steam milk part...(getting so much bubble..cant get the silky look result)
Hi Tom, love the videos, I’ve been torn between buying the Sage Barista Express or buying this machine along with Sage Smart Grinder Pro, any advice on which you think would be the better setup?
I'd go for the Barista Express, if the price is in a similar range. You can play with the pre-infusion on that machine, and it eventually warms up the brew group. Cheers!
Thank you for the nice video! We just bought at second hand and it looks good, but seems like there is not enough pressure for the water to come out. We used nicely fine ground espresso coffee. Is it wrong or what should we do? Do we have to buy the other filter to make it work more properly and to be able to tamper it more?
Terrific video. You got me at "beginner", but I have a question. After steaming, is there a certain wait time before you I can make a second espresso round?
Is there a way to attach an after-market pressure gauge to this machine? Or is it consistent enough it's not needed? Also, thank you for all the amazing videos and info!!!
excellent video Tom. I am curious to know your views on how this machine compares with the Gaggia classic? I am unsure which one to pick amongst the 2.
Hi there, I made a comparison here: ruclips.net/video/1zwBne2he0A/видео.html It really kind of depends on the prices in your market. They are both great for their respective price tiers.
Many thanks Tom. The comparison video answered all but question tat I had. Could I get say about 50 cups a day from Gaggia? Looking to use it in a small cafe. Or if I am working the machine 6/7 days a week, what's the max # of cups I could expect? Cheers mate
@@kishanpesswani5678 Oh gosh, it's not really made for that. If you want to run a cafe, you should really get a dual boiler machine. It's no fun going back and forth between espresso brew temp and steam temp over and over and over.
What an amazing video, I am so stoked about getting this now. Gonna go straight to advanced barista mode... Also, your presentation is *so* good, subscribed! *UPDATE* : this video does exactly what it says on the tin. I had a half-decent espresso from the normal mode (also Lavazza ground) but then switched up to good beans ground on a K6 and in a bottomless filter. And even with my noob tamping and so on the espresso was *so* rich and chocolatey. No going back now! Also a tip from me from my pourover days and also works well as espresso: Lavazza decaf beans are actually really good, I had a great espresso from them, too!
Hello from Greece! Congrats on the channel.. it really helps a lot .. and offers a lots of hints for even amateurs in coffee like me :) i need your help. Most of the times that i make an espresso with dedica, the double shot espresso puck stucks to shower screen.. i dont know why,,
Hi George! Thanks for the kudos. You might just be dosing a little too high. The puck expands as it absorbs the water, and maybe it is just expanding too much, and getting stuck. But it's really no big deal. It happens to me sometimes too. Greetings from the USA!

Thank you for such wonderful feedback, Sue. That is really rewarding to hear. Cheers! Tom
Very nice! Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks for sharing, good to know! Cheers, Tom
You too, for your lovely videos :)
😮
@@revesup yeah 😊 But, it's just needed at a very first running the machine process. After that, a grease from the coffee will form a film and it will run smoothly on it's own.
Thank you for that video. I just bought this machine for my grandma as a xmas gift. Your movie is very helpfull to explain her how to make coffe with this.
Oh, what a sweet comment. ;) tell your grandma I says hi! Tom
Hey Ben, thanks for sharing. Glad you're enjoying your Dedica! I have never heard of the Hugh basket. Is that similar to the IMS?
your videos made me realize I didn't need to buy more expensive options than the Dedica, just received it on International Coffee Day, can't be a coincidence!
Tom will even get an espresso out of a fry pan! LOL. Amazing!
I do agree that it is simple to use, has great ergonomics, and can make real nice espresso. Enjoy your espresso journey!
Hi, could you tell me what Eureka Mignon did you use?
After watching this video i dont have any question to ask. Nicely presented.
Awesome, Mumtaz, thanks for your feedback!
Great video! Thank you 🙏 Just bought myself a Dedica 685. This video is very helpful. Looking forward to trying the coffee from the Dedica.
Glad it was helpful! Have fun with your Dedica!
Thanks for the zipper tip. I literally had that plastic flying into milk 2 times this week with pressure. I will zip it, since I can really make vortex without aluminum piece off.
Glad it was helpful!
I've had my machine for, ahem, a while now, and this guide takes my caffeine addiction to a new level of happy!
THANKS Tom! 😁
Haha, sounds like a plan. :)
I learnt a lot. Thanks! Good pace, clear explanation and simple but effective filming.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! 👍
I have this machine for about 5 years now... only good coffee and no troubles as far!
I love that I could make a "beginner" level coffe when I am in a rush in the morning, and maybe take it to the next level during the weekends, when I have more time :) Thank you!
thanks tom! you seem like a really lovely guy. sometimes I watch your videos when I'm sad and they make me happy again : )
Thanks for your kind comment, Ned. I appreciate it!
Hallo Tom,
Thanks for making these videos, they really help with the Dedica! You inspired me to buy one EC685, however I have some issues with the coffee it makes.
Grinder: Timemore Slim Plus (E&B burrs)
Setting: 7 (kinda dangerous for the blades)
14 g coffee, 2-3 months old, medium roast from Vietnam
Bottomless portafilter with IMS 14g basket, warmed up, dried.
Thanks! Well, I did do a video on the Opus with the Dedica. You could check that one. Cheers!
@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks. Found it. Will watch!
Nice work Tom, very complete guide. As a new owner of a dedica its very helpful all the tips and hacks that you provide
Glad you enjoyed it, Giovanni! Now it's time for some nice coffee! Hope you have fun with it!
@@cheriemorgan-mcgrory3090 Awesome, thanks so much for your kind feedback! Have fun with your machine :-)
@@TomsCoffeeCorner - really great presentation! Lovely you replied! What an awesome human!
Love your Dedica vids! My 680 has a shorter rubber froth tip and could barely dip below surface of the milk, so I upgraded to the rancillio. Turns out my favorite drink is Americano anyway but the new tip gives options.
Very nice, Vic! Yes, the Rancilio mod is more necessary on the EC680...with the EC685 the rubber tip is just long enough. Happy coffee drinking!
This was all facts you spoke of man. I have had this machine for 4 years now and the bottomless portafilter is the way to go. Fresh roast coffee is always key. Thanks for this video.
Well said! Fresh roast is #1!
Many thanks
Yes Becky, that is exactly right! Just hold down the button until the amount you want has been delivered. It will remember that for next time.
Thank You 🙂
@@TomsCoffeeCorner remind me what the different is between the models? I know you mentioned color but what else? I have the 680.

Hi Ozgur! You will need an unpressurized basket when grinding fine for espresso. I have some linked in the description box. Cheers!
I bought one this morning. Couldn't be happier with it
Great news! I am happy to hear that. I quite like this machine, too.
Great video, even for beginners. Keep up the good work 👌
Thank you, kind sir!
Cheers! Tom
@@TomsCoffeeCornerHi! As a beginner in the home brewing world, I wonder what you mean by a 2:1 ratio in 20-25 seconds. Good video by the way. Thanks!
@@gonzaloperalta245 Hi! That means 14 grams of coffee powder in, and 28 grams of espresso liquid out. 👍🏻
@@TomsCoffeeCorner I wondered if it was that ratio when you pulled the shot with the 14g in the non pressurized porta filter. It seemed to be much more liquid out then just 28g. Is there a reason why you pulled a much longer shot in the video?
Best video about Delonghi in Internet. Regards from Brazil 🇧🇷
That's so kind of you to say - thanks for your feedback!
The white one really looks good.
Thanks for the review it was exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you for a great explanation and demonstration without interfering with gimmicks. I appreciate your pleasant attitude in your presentation.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
I made a short video about it here, for your reference: ruclips.net/video/M8NBbSyHDO0/видео.html
Purging the steam wand is important too, to not dilute the milk. Cheers!
Got one used for 60 euro. Made my first cappuccino and definitely worth it
Thanks for sharing, I’m using a Nespresso machine now, but looking for a proper coffee with fresh beams not so expensive.
I made a video about it: ruclips.net/video/ncoZ3XyhWC8/видео.html
But yes $100 for an overhaul in NYC is a good option too. Cheers!
Fantastic! Glad to hear you're on the right path. :)
They said you cant put 18 grams of coffee only 14 for the double dose...You changed the portafilter?
@@DIMHSLEON yeap, bottomless portafilter and basket
@@RabindranatSo if you dont change the portafilter the biggest dose of coffee is 14 grams?Bigger dose will break the machine?

Thank you for this amazing video, it’s really helpful. May I know how can I buy the exact grinder you used?

Not sure Maria. Does it deliver water well, without portafilter? If so, then maybe a basket is clogged.
Nice review....do you suggest this model or krupa virtuoso?
Hmm, good question. I have seen the Krups at the store, but I have never tried it. The Dedica is tried and true, so I would suggest that one.
currently using the ec260, in my opinion I prefer it to the dedica :) Keep up the good content!!!
Terrific video. You got me at "beginner", but I have a question. After steaming, is there a certain wait time before you I can make a second espresso round?
Well, after that, you have to cool the thermoblock down, by flipping the hot water switch and allowing that to cool the thermoblock down.
I’ve just bought silver one a I love this little machine ❤️ also thanks for your helpful videos ❤️
Hey Tom, thanx for videos, really helpful, I've been using Dedica for 7 months, suddenly steamer became very weak. 🤷♂️
Hmm, maybe the OPV has become defective? I have heard of that happening before, but have not experienced it myself.
Is there a way to attach an after-market pressure gauge to this machine? Or is it consistent enough it's not needed? Also, thank you for all the amazing videos and info!!!
Yes, you can do it, but you need really specialized parts. I did a video on it: ruclips.net/video/Scsm9Vw6JrA/видео.html
excellent video Tom. I am curious to know your views on how this machine compares with the Gaggia classic? I am unsure which one to pick amongst the 2.
Hi there, I made a comparison here: ruclips.net/video/1zwBne2he0A/видео.html
It really kind of depends on the prices in your market.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner thank you very much for your answer. I will try to decrease the amount of coffee!
i love how understated you are...never change
Thank you sir!
Love this video, but do you agree the coffee machine to own is the Linea Mini?
Hey Mark! Well, I must admit that I have not tried a Linea Mini, but it looks a dream. It seems to be an end game machine for many people. Cheers! ☕️
