Another great video, thanks for showing us around those vehicles, and how they drive. It is interesting to see the Jeepster up close, my Dad has a 49 Jeepster VJ6 he has been restoring for many years, we are in the final stages. Yes we witnessed how solid the frame is underneath. Interesting to learn about the overdrive, you mentioned that it goes into neutral when you lift your foot off the accelerator, we did not know about that. Dad has not driven it yet as it was in a barn when he purchased it 20 years ago. Dad also has an AMC Mighty Mite which we spotted in the background. Another fun vehicle to drive. He restored it and it is used occasionally.
Watching this video I felt I was in Jeep heaven! Sooo many vintage Jeeps to see in one building. You're a fortunate man and very knowledgeable. Thanks !
I've got a 71 Jeepster commando, same color as the one you have there. It hasn't run since 2008, but now that I'm an empty nester coming up this Fall, my goal is to get it back on the road. It's been garaged most of it's life so it's in pretty good shape.
I have a running "project", 1978 right steering, Automatic, 2 wheel drive, 232 straight 6, AM General Postal Jeep. I take it to estate sales, swap meets, and around town. With the rear "cargo" door and sliding suicide doors, it holds a surprisingly large amount of cargo.
This is a great video! I bought a 73 Commando a few months ago, same color as your 72. I’ll like to install larger tires in it. Can you share what tire size you have in yours? Thank you!
My wife and I have driven our 48 about 10,000 miles traveling around the country. We have the Hurricane 6 cylinder and avoid interstates. The Go-devil was better for tractors and Jeeps but will get you there when time is not a factor.
I bought a 72 with 25K original miles on it. Have you figured out a way to put a soft top on yours or always going to leave the hard top on. Mine is the straight 6 so not super fast. Thanks for the comparison.
Is that dauntless supposed to tap like that? Cuz my rebuilt brand new dauntless sounds exactly like yours…tap tap tap… been trying to figure out what it is and i can’t…
My dauntless doesn't tap that I remember, but the 304 in my 72 Commando does. It's a lifter. I have new ones for it. I just haven't had the time to replace them yet.
Very cool seeing both versions on the Commando side by side.
Yes it is!!
Love the ‘48. Man that thing is cool. What a great cruiser
It's like taking a step back in time every time you drive it. Thanks for watching!
I had a 72 Commando. Mine had the 304 with power steering and auto trans. The top came off when I bought it and went back on when I sold it.
Very nice old jeeps I still wish they made them today
Amazing collection.

I love your 71. I had a 67, wish I never sold it.
Nice to see someone else that knows the difference between all of these Jeeps… Soo many are clueless. Thanks.
Thank you for watching!
Love my jeepster commando ❤❤❤
This Jeep is beautiful. My first Jeep was a 1975 Jeep CJ5
@ericwheat9540 thank you for watching!
My first 4x4 was a 1967 Jeepster Commando V6, mildly modified on 8.90-16 tires. Lot of good memories from that time.
This one is so cool 😎
Thanks! It was so much fun making the video that we did it multiple times! :)
Love the Commando!

That's awesome. I hope to see it out on the road sometime.

I have a 72 DJ-5 as well. Crazy how much cargo you can carry.

Thank you! They are 31's.
Nice!
Did you lifted it?

I prefer the hard top and keeping it as original as possible. Congrats on your 72 with 25k. That's awesome!
I have a question. I happen to have a 48 jeepster that I am planning on restoring. Where did you obtain a new soft top from?
We got it from Jeepsterman or kaiserwillys online. I can't remember for sure which.
What kind of stereo did you put in your 72?
I dont remember the exact brand but it was a company on Ebay that sells vintage radios that have Bluetooth and hidden USB ports.
Is the museum open to the public? I would love to see it… I have 7 vintage Jeeps and have my own mini museum…
Yes, we are open by appointment only.

I have a 1951 jeepster with 4x4 and a chevy engine you can see it on uncle robs garage.
So the Jeepster is not an all terrain vehicle. Is rear wheel drive? Great video!!!
Still very capable, but it was designed as a touring car. In the 30s and 40s, they were very popular.
Waoo nice jeep , my uncle have a 1972 but I don’t know if is a comando but is just looks like your
