Good job working on troubleshooting the issue. New vehicles have very busy engine bays which presents access issues but you take it head on and I commend you for that.
A few things everyone should know. Before pulling the plugs, blow all the dirt and small rocks out of the spark plug wells (you can damage the engine, if this trash drops in). Never drop a spark plug in the plug wells, (plugs could be damaged) use a good plug socket that holds the plug or a piece of fuel hose to hold and start the plug. Just because it takes so much work to get to the plugs out, I would of change them and the coil on the cylinder that was misfiring. One last thing, only use OE plugs, these were made by NGK and are Laser Iridium plugs.
Just did mine last week changed all 6 and coils too with oem parts. P0300 came up again yesterday for random misfire not sure what to try next. It started in September and went away and started again 2 weeks ago. I have 107,000 miles on mine. Might try the o2 sensors. Hard to pay for diagnostics when it does not happen a lot.
You are a brave mechanic… gutsy … good job
