Good to know about these products. I have yet to use my TrackIR with MSFS2020 having moved to it not too long ago. This is a very expensive product so will be keeping with TrackIR.
Good morning, what a beautifully calm image you have when you use Tobii Eye Tracker, it's a pity that you did not share your setting, I am very curious about that, my image is quite nervous and therefore not 100% satisfied! I wrote this with google translate.
I have turned my Head Tracking settings down quite a bit, so that it focusses more on my eyes instead. if you are in my discord server remind me around Thursday and I'll boot the sim up to get the settings
It's all in my Tobii experience program, I dialled the head tracking down a bit more I believe to try and calm down it's twitchiness... But then as mentioned I only use it on the ground for taxiing in the airliners
had my tobii eye tracker 6 months probably my least used bit of tech i have defo regret buying it even with the 25% off i paid for it still about £60 too much money for the amount of use i get out of it. it mostly sits behind my monitor i thought i was going to love it but i just find it more hassle than its worth using good for heli flights thats about it.
Thanks for the video. I recently purchased and received my tobii eye tracker. Your settings seem really smooth. Do you mind sharing your MSFS settings for the tobii eye tracker?
I have to say I’ve owned it for about a year, I mainly fly tube liners, and hardly use it. Ok for taxiing etc, as you say in the video, but for programming FMC, MCDU etc, it’s far from ideal, especially as unlike TrackIR, there is no pause function. Only option is to disable it with a key bind, but then the view returns to default cockpit view. I regret buying it, it just gathers dust unfortunately. Also, one can spend far too much time trying to tweek the settings, like those that are persistently chasing FPS, it detracts from enjoying the flying side of the sim.
That's too bad about the pause function. I use that *all the time* with my current TrackIR. I'm still using my TrackIR 3 that I've owned for maybe 20 years, but would consider replacing it with something else if it means I don't have to wear the hat & reflectors, and if it doesn't occasionally go crazy, as my TIR3 likes to do on final!
is it not weird having the view move more than your head is moving? like you can only turn your head as far as your screen edges are, but with the game motion, the movement is more than that, is that not really uncomfortable?
The worst hardware addon I ever purchased. 300 USD for basically using it on the ground. Couldn't use it on takeoff or landings; it was too distracting. It's not good value for your money.
I could never get mine to work. It seems that if you have installed the free track software the tobii stuff won’t work in msfs no matter what you do. It worked in windows and in the tobii app but nothing happened in msfs.
I'm the same, using it for taxing mainly + all the time in choppers !
i have just taken delivery of my Tobii Eye Tracker 5, just experimenting with the settings, would you mind sharing your setting please?
Hi, can I ask you about the various differences that the internal settings of the tobii have in the simulator?

TrackIR from what I'm learning from others is a bit better in the way it behaves when you toggle it on/off :)

Do you have your settings? I find it way too quick in movement and I thought you can zoom in by looking? Thanks

thanks for sharing your thoughts! :) definitely agree with Heli flying, i've been using it a lot in the Chinook lately and it's perfect for that

that's a significant advantage to trackIR (which I don't have) but yeah the snap back to default when you toggle off is frustrating

it's a little odd but it's unfortunately the only way to be able to get 90degree looking left/right for example without turning away from the screen

Definitely more suited to GA/Helis as mentioned in the video itself too - I only use it for taxi on the ground in the airliners too
@@BritishAvgeek I agree. It's ok in those limited situations, but it's too expensive for it.

ah that's a real shame... although if you've found an alternative instead then happy days!
There is a fix for this that I found this evening. It involves going into open track/free track and disabling track IR. The tobii then works in MSFS.
i remember when i used to do bad landings like that, those are the days. Don't worry you will improve..... eventually...
Wow man, you sounded so bored and unimpressed/unhappy to do this ad video lol kinda felt like it.
Tobii 4 is good too :) (and cheaper)
