As a fan of Danganronpa, I highly recommend playing it on the Vita. My friends have the PS4 versions and told me how it didn't feel natural playing on a controller as opposed to handheld
What puzzles me, is why Sony doesnt give the coding away to memory card devs (Sandisk, etc.) to print limited stock of Vita memory cards? They can just press a few hundred (only 32gb or larger) and sell them off their website, right?
My local buy/sell/exchange shop had one of these in this morning for £80 with a couple of games. For secondhand I thought that was a bit steep. I didn’t realise they were becoming a desirable collectors piece.
That’s the problem with GameStop they just don’t care about their games and have no collectibility whatsoever, but that should be a given at this point, problem is they still demand the full price for the game despite its condition, you’d get a better deal buying from eBay for the money and you’d get the complete product case and all.
You would be surprised how many people I've seen trade in Not only PS Vita games but Nintendo DS, 3DS , Nintendo Switch games with no original cases it's rare to see people trade them with a case at all. Also the reason for the different packages is because they games are coming from different gamestops so whichever location has that game you ordered they will ship it out to you.
I know I’m late to the party, but Great vid! I’ve got only about 15 games or so for the Vita, all CIB. Game Stops in my area only have a handful of Vita games and only a few games have the original case. If I buy one with a generic case and the later see the original case, Game Stop always gives me the original case. Sometimes they ask me to return the generic case, and sometimes they don’t.
Same. Sadly, all the stores are pulling them off the floor now, so that they can put call of duty socks out. I'm over 200 games, and a good number of those are from 4 for $10/$20 or buy 2 g 1 sales. I finally decided to buy games that didn't have original cover art during the last prestige sale while I still had elite, with the idea that I could find them later on and exchange, but now that they hide them, it makes it so much harder, and I am having regret.
Reason for several packages is because Vita games are still sold at the store so online orders are fulfilled by stores. Your order likely had to be fulfilled by different stores because of inventory (since most stores have very limited inventory on vita games).
I actually bought a set of Raycons with your link and discount code. Reviews seemed solid, my old generic brand set is starting to mess up, and there was no tax or shipping on the order. Don't let me down, man. These better be good.

I frequent vintage games shops around my area a lot and when I come across a wanted game sans case I ask if they have any generic cases for the game (ex: 3DS case for a 3DS game, Vita case for a Vita game, Gameboy case for a Gameboy game etc) and the employee or whoever runs the shop are actually cool enough to give me a case. When that happens I just print out custom box art to size at home and slip it onto the box. I did that for Resistance Burning Skies. You could try doing that.
I got one like two years ago for Christmas because I sold my original one, and wanted to get one again, especially the Slim version. The cashier guy on the counter asked me why the hell did I want that since I mostly bought PS4 and Switch games on the store. I'm looking at those Vitas going up in price online laughing my ass off because I got mine at a reasonable price
I have two. Bought a Japanese 2000 console in blue, brand new, from PlayAsia. Cost me about $125 shipped. Then got a 1000 for $90 in almost perfect condition used. Glad I collected when I did.
Am I the only one who thinks Sony didn't neglect the Vita? Sony brought lots of good games to the Vita with Uncharted, Tearaway, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, Persona, Resistance, WipeOut and a lot more. It even had an exclusive Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed. I think the real reason it didn't do well was they somehow barely marketed it. Nobody knew it existed and if you did, you had to buy a ridiculously expensive proprietary memory card. That killed it in my opinion, but in terms of games, Sony did what they realistically could.
I want that orange vita. I’ve gotten some decent vita games from GameStop. I also got a system and expensive memory card from there but that was a few years back now
the sad thing is that the "memory cards" are still very expensiv. Best thing these days is to mod it and use an SD2Vita Adapter for the "Cartridge" Slot and use the Free Shop Version for the Vita.
Bought 10+ ps vita 1000X wifi versions and a whole slew of 3G mainboards last year. Restored and refurbished them, now I have 3G vitas with psvsds and swappable micro sd cards routed to the sim card slot, hold in place by a mini to micro sd adapter since it fits into the sim tray ;).
Day one Vita owner. The problem was missing L/R triggers and clickable analogs, which resulted in the touchscreen and rear touchpad being used to substitute buttons, which was INCREDIBLY awkward and your thumb or finger would accidentally brush against the corner of the screen or back of the handheld and cause you to throw a grenade, crouch, etc. plus 64gb max proprietary memcard that had to be imported from Japan and had a 50% failure rate. And it just didn’t have many good games. It felt like Wii U waiting for each new game to release. The best games on the system were the PS2 ports of Persona 2 and Final Fantasy X/X-2.
You make the the best videos, I still use my ps vita slim along with my switch as my primary handhelds. Most of their games are going up in price on eBay. If you can get the box separately and just the the game from game stop I would suggest doing that. Either way the ps vita is still a great system.

I ordered some two weeks ago. Got two in the black cases, one in the clear plastic holder, two factory sealed still, and two in their cases. I found replacement cases on eBay for cheap.
The reason you got multiple packages is gamestop's order fulfillment program takes the ordered item from stores across the country. Uncharted golden abyss, borderlands 2, ninja gaiden sigma 1 and 2, gravity rush, ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 are some great additions. The vita is also import friendly and that expands the library greatly.
got a vita on amazon last year. had to change out the joysticks cause of drift but it has been great after it was fixed. Digimon Cyber Sleuth is my jam.
You have to go into the stores to just see what they have and make sure you get cases. You also sometimes get really lucky with hard to find games showing up. I moved into a new area a couple years ago and scoured all the local gamestops and found some great stuff.
Psp wasn’t abandoned by Sony it was killed off by piracy. It got hacked before it had a chance to challenge Nintendo for the handheld crown. It got a lot of games as Sony tried to fight off the hacking community. It still pisses me off how the hacking community destroys consoles from truly being what they could be.
Sharing Lungs I’d say it’s a mix of both tbh, but I still mostly blame Sony for failing to give the Vita the support it deserved. Even after the PSP was relatively successful, meaning they dropped the ball *hard* on its successor. While yes, Sony did try to fight off hackers (which’s a reason the Vita had such an overpriced proprietary SD card), I feel like they didn’t do it enough, and eventually just gave up on doing so, which’s why the Vita ended up dying before reaching its full potential and is so easy to hack nowadays. Compare that to Nintendo, where hacking the 3DS and eventually the Switch is a huge risk due to the fact that they’ll perma-ban you with the slightest provocation, then you can see why they’ve still reigned in the handheld market.
Gamestop stores are supposed to at least have replacement cases, but it costs the stores to order them, so some stores dont order them. A LOT of people used to trade just the carts in. Stores are not supposed to use the baggies or the plastic shells for the vita games, as well as remove the price stickers. You also got multiple packages for 1 order because all the vita orders are fulfilled from stores nowadays, and that means no 1 store had all the games from that order. To answer the case throw out: Corporate hasn't made a note about it since the original DS. A lot of stores still keep DS/3ds/vita games that have cases/art and will sell them with it, the issue is that with handheld systems, people dont keep the cases, usually just kept them in a multi cart carrying case and traded in games loose.
The Ninja Gaiden Sigma-titles are indeed great titles to own. Definitely not the best titles when it comes to performance, but they have a great combat system and are packed with content! And I personally own the European version of Disney's Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Is this one the rare one, or just the North American version?
Uncharted. Metal Gear collection. Sly Cooper collection. Persona 4. Marvel vs Capcom. Even the Baseball games like MLB 12/13 are really, really good. If you're an achievement hunter, all games have them. Love this system and it has many great games on it.
I bought a black PS Vita at my local Gamestop a few months ago, mainly because this Vita was in an absolute mint condition, no scratches anywhere on it. As far as games go I'm using an SD2Vita with a 128 GB micro sd. It's a nice system that feels as solid on your hands as the PSP does.
I’ve had the same problems as well. I always check local Game Stops before placing any order. Lukie Games is alright to order from, and when you click on the game, it will tell you if it is just a cartridge or if it comes with the case.
I was hard up for cash years ago and sold my original Vita as a result. I never lived it down and ended up finding another about 5 years later. I knew the games I owned would all be difficult to find so I just got a bigger memory card and downloaded them all digitally. It was the more convenient option and the games are much cheaper on PSN. I have no regrets; the Vita is an unsung gem of a handheld.
The Vita was cool, but I felt I wasted my money getting one when it first came out lol. I'm a Sony guy than Nintendo and Microsoft, but the Vita was an average handheld system.

The Vita is amazing if u have custom firmware. That’s pretty much what everyone uses it with now. I can get any game for free, display the screen on my computer and emulate so much shit. Also using a 128gb card. It’s pretty boring without the hacks honestly
I bought one too when the pandemic hit. Vita saved my life I spent the lockdown playing Ys Memories of Celceta, Ys VII, Trails in the Sky 1 and 2, Trails of Cold Steel 1, and 2. Persona 4, and a bunch of PS1 classics. I had a really fun lockdown thanks to vita. I had a hard time finding Cold Steel 2 but luckily someone had a rare copy for almost $60 I bought it quick.
Despite the vita being sadly mistreated by Sony I played the hell out of it up until 2016 and then gave it to my friend(dumbest decision I know) but then I bought a persona 4 golden Japanese vita for $400, re-downloaded every persona game to date and now I’m happy again because I loved the vita and persona 4 golden was my first ever game I played on a Sony system 😁. What puzzles me, is why Sony doesnt give the coding away to memory card devs (Sandisk, etc.) to print limited stock of Vita memory cards?
They can just press a few hundred (only 32gb or larger) and sell them off their website, right?
I still have mine, it's such a good system, so sad that it didn't really took off. Was a great system for the portable RPG and T-Rpg
My local buy/sell/exchange shop had one of these in this morning for £80 with a couple of games. For secondhand I thought that was a bit steep. I didn’t realise they were becoming a desirable collectors piece.
ah freedom wars thousends of hours and i still go back
Thanks For The Tips. Great Video!
You should pick up Tales of Hearts R, it was a GameStop exclusive. For the physical at least. And it’s a great game imo for the Vita.
Great game!
Worst game i ever played
Mediocre title in tales of series...
overrated game. never managed to finished it. zestiria is leagues better and thats a bad game.
@@chaikagaz coming from they guy with Destiny content on his channel? Yeah, ok buddy. Your opinion is null and void.
That’s the problem with GameStop they just don’t care about their games and have no collectibility whatsoever, but that should be a given at this point, problem is they still demand the full price for the game despite its condition, you’d get a better deal buying from eBay for the money and you’d get the complete product case and all.
What the heck people do with their cases? Throw em to bin and keep their carts in a jar?
You would be surprised how many people I've seen trade in Not only PS Vita games but Nintendo DS, 3DS , Nintendo Switch games with no original cases it's rare to see people trade them with a case at all. Also the reason for the different packages is because they games are coming from different gamestops so whichever location has that game you ordered they will ship it out to you.
I have two, one that needs to be repaired, and another, that I use for P E R S O N A
I know I’m late to the party, but Great vid!
I swear I'm the only guy that buys Vita games at the GameStop in my town.
Yeah Me too Guess we're still standing
Same, sadly my Gamestop sucks and only has 5 games out on the floor at any given time and when they're gone there wont be more
Reason for several packages is because Vita games are still sold at the store so online orders are fulfilled by stores. Your order likely had to be fulfilled by different stores because of inventory (since most stores have very limited inventory on vita games).
I still use my modded psvita from time to time to this day
I actually bought a set of Raycons with your link and discount code. Reviews seemed solid, my old generic brand set is starting to mess up, and there was no tax or shipping on the order. Don't let me down, man. These better be good.
I love my Psvita and 8GB memorycard and that's enough cause I can play every game in a 8gb memorycard ❤

How much was yours for?
I have two. Bought a Japanese 2000 console in blue, brand new, from PlayAsia. Cost me about $125 shipped. Then got a 1000 for $90 in almost perfect condition used. Glad I collected when I did.
I remember I got killzone in the original packaging a couple years back used for $30. Freedom wars is also a good pickup if you like Attack on Titan
well just slap some CFW on your vita and you're good to go
Am I the only one who thinks Sony didn't neglect the Vita? Sony brought lots of good games to the Vita with Uncharted, Tearaway, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, Persona, Resistance, WipeOut and a lot more. It even had an exclusive Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed. I think the real reason it didn't do well was they somehow barely marketed it. Nobody knew it existed and if you did, you had to buy a ridiculously expensive proprietary memory card. That killed it in my opinion, but in terms of games, Sony did what they realistically could.
Sd2vita so u don’t have to spend hundreds on a memory card!

I still have the 3G version of my vita that I bought for $120 Canadian

Custom firmware + PKGJ + SD2Vita.

You make the the best videos, I still use my ps vita slim along with my switch as my primary handhelds. Most of their games are going up in price on eBay. If you can get the box separately and just the the game from game stop I would suggest doing that. Either way the ps vita is still a great system.
I would never order pre owned at Gamestop. The last time I ordered pre owned online and the order was a mess.
Same here, If I am going to get something preowned from them, it's at a store location, so i can inspect it before buying it.
I feel comfortable buying preowned at the store, as I can see what I’m buying. But yeah, online is definitely a no.

I ordered some two weeks ago. Got two in the black cases, one in the clear plastic holder, two factory sealed still, and two in their cases. I found replacement cases on eBay for cheap.
What did you get factory sealed??
If you want a Persona4 Golden case, I can sell mine to you.

The vita is probably the best emulation handheld of all time, if you can figure out how to hack it it's insanely good for emulators
It's a headache to develop things.
best way for mobile emulation is the switch
Nay best emulator is to use smart phones
BakaNeko minus the mobile part. And the fact that hacking a switch will gain you a permaban.
No definitely Android phones and second would be the Switch.
Hotshot was one of those games everybody in the 90s use to play.
Seems like game stop is the worst games store ever in your country
The reason you got multiple packages is gamestop's order fulfillment program takes the ordered item from stores across the country. Uncharted golden abyss, borderlands 2, ninja gaiden sigma 1 and 2, gravity rush, ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 are some great additions. The vita is also import friendly and that expands the library greatly.
got a vita on amazon last year. had to change out the joysticks cause of drift but it has been great after it was fixed. Digimon Cyber Sleuth is my jam.
Robert Strawn I think it’s getting re-released on Switch or something.
Yeah, now the hybrid version finally came to Switch people. NOICE.
Robert Strawn After reading this comment, I can definitely see why the Nintendo Switch Lite is considered a successor. 😂 Drifting!
You have to go into the stores to just see what they have and make sure you get cases. You also sometimes get really lucky with hard to find games showing up. I moved into a new area a couple years ago and scoured all the local gamestops and found some great stuff.
Gamestop does disappointing service. Really.
Unfortunately I had to get rid of my Vita this year and I had most of these games so seeing this brings back some good memories.
The PS Vita might’ve been abandoned by Sony, buy oh boy, is it an amazing firmware device.
Anybody know where I can find a charging cable for a Vita? One of the old ones to be specific.

I strongly recomend to get the ninja gaiden games those are some really hard to get games and if you come across epic mickey that one is a must
