I Ordered More GameCube Games From GameStop...Here's What They Sent Me

- It's been a bit harder recently to find good deals on GameCube games since going out and looking for them has been impossible. GameStop ran a deal online the other day that ended up including GameCube games so I filled up a cart with some of the better games that I needed and got pretty lucky with prices and what was sent to me.

GameStop Corporate: This deal is pretty good, we need a creative way to still annoy customers.
Employee: I have these stickers....
Employees just steal the manuals to sell on eBay
@@HippieMumboJumbo man that sucks. I wouldn't be supersized, they are just after the bucks, if they are selling the manuals online they are definitely not preservationists.
I would love for manuals to come back or just booklets of art, they really help seal the deal for buying a product not just a data disk. !!bring back the booklets !!
@@bandaid007jl supersized?
I used to steal the manuals from blockbuster i have a whole drawer full 😆
@@chaosmaxtcg well you kept them all this time that makes you a drawer preservationist
6:14 "ehhhh, a little bit of damage here..." [proceeds to forcefully ram-jam the cover into the case]
Exactly what I thought when I saw that 😂😂
This exactly what I needed this Saturday morning.
Beats cartoons?
Ramen117 That and probably the whole smash community thing.
Thats a good day
Same here
Yeah but I miss smosh.. 🤧
I still think GameStop should focus on retro more, have constant deals and promotions that rotate specifically for the older games and consoles, the prices on their retro selection is usually pretty good imo
Caleb in your Coffeemaker yeah whenever I go to gamestop I always go right to the Xbox 360 section because of all the good deals they have for those games and I can play them all on my Xbox one.
Bossman I felt that recently bought a ps3 cause I’ve always been on the Xbox side of gaming and I was surprised to the good deals they actually had. GameStop gets a lot of shit cause they deserve it but their deals are pretty good sometimes
You want them to focus on retro when they are so notorious for how shitty they treat used physical media?
1. They give the same trade value for loose games without box/manual as they do complete (also condition doesn't matter).
2. They have scientifically engineered the absolute most intrusive stickers ever made by humans, then plaster them all over game boxes.
3. They are known to actually throw away boxes/manuals so that they save on store space. They seem to particularly do this with handheld games such as DS, 3DS, and Vita games. Also, of COURSE they still charge full price for these.
They have to go all in on supporting the collectors they are there new biggest customer base now...
The problem is people trading in their retro stuff want tons of money for damaged items just cause they're old 🙄 or just want to trade in the console but don't have any of the wires for it
Kirby air ride was such a great game. I have so many memories playing the city free play map, trying to piece together the special cart rides from the boxes 😁
City trial was life 😊
We need Kirby’s Air Ride 2
I’ve always collected NES games, but as far as the GameCube one of my favorite systems, whenever I see any GameCube games at thrift stores I always grab them, they are getting harder to find and more expensive every year.
I buy a lot of game for every system, but I get oddly exited finding even the most mundane GameCube games because there just so uncommon in that situation where they are $1-$2. It is similar to how it was for me 15 years ago finding Dreamcast games in thrift stores.
It's original Game Boy grey carts for me, and some of them are silly money to buy for now
@@MakoyUnggoy i can never find GB games in thrifts stores, unless theyre individually priced. Idk i can never manage to find any games super nintendo and before unless theyre dumbass priced. I saw NES games like super mario bros duck hunt combo cartridge, and a baseball game going for $40. No.
a game being loose vs complete in cart will have two completely different values. Almost doubling in price. Buying loose games are a good way to go if you want to save money & just want to play the game. With Used Game Stop games it really comes down to which value you're paying for since it's a mystery of what you'll receive.
I think you mean complete in case.
I think everyone knows that, but they also know Game Stop have never cared about that. They try to sell display games as new even if they are open and missing stuff, including the original case and/or cover art sometimes.
I've never ordered a game from their website, but the last few games I bought in store all came with the manual. (Didn't really expect that)
But, I guess, that really depends on who brings the used games in. For example, 2 of the 3 games I bough yesterday smell of cigarettes. Not bad enough for me to notice right away, but it's noticable with the manuals, since they are hard to clean I'd assume.
Ya, I hate that you don't know or have a choice. A loose cart is fine, but a loose disk is kind of a deal break for me.
12:05 just seeing the colors got me super excited! Love the cartridge design for Stadium 2
I really wish gamestop, where i live, still had "older" games. (They only had about 20-30 ps3 games, 10 of which were skyrim, left half a year ago)
Ever since gamestop opened a store in my city, most other videogame stores closed. I knew at least 4 that i loved to go to that don't exist anymore now. Actually, there is only one videogame store left here that isn't gamestop...
And over the last few years, they cut half of their space, previously used for videogames, and are selling mostly merch now. The Gamestop store here is right next to a merch only store (Elbenwald).......
Also, their online store in my counrty doesn't have any older games either...
You live in gamestop?
@@MrTotBalls believe it or not, GameStop is not only in the US, it's also in, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Ireland and Switzerland. In France, there is a subsidiary of GameStop called micromania, the rest remain just as standard gamestops.
He was making fun of the wording of the sentence not that it was elsewhere
I absolutely love these episodes! Can’t wait for you to go get them from stores!
A few notes:
F-Zero GX has a widescreen mode you can enable in the settings.
Pokémon Colosseum and XD were used by many people back then to trade Johto- and Kanto-Pokémon (especially Ho-Oh and Lugia) to Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald and are some of the best Pokémon RPGs out there, including Game Freak's games. Sadly Genius Sonority is not allowed to make Pokémon games similar to the main series anymore, but they're still making tons of spin offs.
Lastly, there's a trick you can use to make sure that the data on your discs is not damaged, Adam Koralik uses it too.
He dumps his games with homebrew as backup and then copies the hash values generated during the process and looks them up in a spreadsheet. If the values can't be found it is probable that the disc itself is damaged.
And with the GCLoader he primarily uses these copies to play his games. That way they're preserved and can be played without wearing the discs. 😊
F-Zero GX is amazing. They should re-release it with full multiplayer support on the Switch.
...and story mode for all the characters and online multiplayer too with full custom designs :)
GameCube is sooo underrated.
Not really
@@hambu4781 Why not?
Only underrated at release. Since it became Legacy, it's one of the most popular systems for collectors. I've got 3 😅
@Ernie the Giant Chicken really, i thought it was a very comfortable controller with the buttons being close to each other.
@@marcos4239 Yeah, the GC Controller still wins awards for one of the best designed and most ergonomic. Caused less hand cramping than the other rival systems of the time, too. Funny to see people say they hated it.
Man you got almost all the cases for gamecube games. I almost never get any when I order from GameStop
Skies of Arcadia should be remade, remastered, rebooted, and given a sequel.
That game was amazing
True
Yeah, keep em coming! Your last one inspired me to rebuild my childhood N64 collection before it gets way too expensive to do. Still missing a jungle green controller and about seven games. Been a lot of fun. Best of luck with GC!
Knowing GameStop they took all the Manuals and sold then separately.
Kirby Air Ride is literally perfect for split Joy-Con play. God I want a sequel or port to that game so badly
This was entertaining to watch. I missed playing these games.
DBZ Sagas was elite .. surprised to hear that viewpoint on the game
Tell me you had Colosseum back then too, hands down best rpg for the gamecube, best Pokemon game.
Both of the Colosseum games were some of my favorites. With snap being revived, I hope there's a chance for that spin off series, too! Gamefreak has been weird in recent times, though, so if they do remake/make a new title, hopefully they don't mess it up...
@@dianaburn2474 Yes! Totally. They are amazing Pokemon experiences. Honestly it's a golden chance for them right now. They can: a) Do a remake b) Make a new title or; c)Remaster both and sell them as a collection.
Tales of symphonia was a better experience for me than Pokémon collesseum along with gale of darkness; just because the mechanics were slightly less annoying (purification...)
Best RPG? Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Skies of Arcadia and Paper Mario TTYD beg to differ.
Luka Abramovič thank you!
Hell yeah! Congrats on the haul! Really enjoyed the video. Thanks! Happy Fourth!
Enjoying these haul videos. I’m collecting GameCube games also just grabbed pikmin 1, Zelda four swords, XIII, and sonic mega collection this week
I'm honestly just surprised they all had the cover art. Back when I would go to gamestop, on their used shelf, more than half of the games had no cover art. Just a white sheet of paper with the title in small print.
Played so much city trials in Kirby air ride whenever I hungout with my friend! Was one of my fav games and had to give my friend Kirbys air ride as a gift
When it’s Saturday so no morning vid but spawn pulls through
These videos are great. Thanks for letting me watch.
Kirby Air Ride was my jam, so much so that I have three copies and we still play it (locally) through the broadband adapters
Kirby Air Ride was such a slept-on Party Game. I can't believe after all these years there still isn't a sequel.
Love videos like these. Keep up the collecting!
Great video, loving your GameCube nostalgia!!
For real though, what a haul. Absolute masterpieces, pretty much every single one of them.
Awesome start to my Saturday! I love these game cube vids! Always excited to see what you find!
My theory on why none of the games had manuals: They remove the manuals and inserts to save money on shipping. They offer free shipping for orders costing $35 or more. Removing the paper contents would cut the shipping weight drastically. They include the box and cover art because most people wouldn't buy from them again if they were sent a box full of only game dics. I know I wouldn't
I think having the disc in the sleeve is a good idea. I’ve ordered some sealed games online before and the disc ended up being loose inside from shipping
Love the show, been especially liking the Gamecube collection videos
Prefer it being on the spindle - actually had a disc that got a nice full-blown crack on it by shipping "sleeved in case"
It seems like spawn wants GameStop to stay in business!!
A little bummed I missed the sale, I’ve had surprisingly good luck with GameStop’s online store in the past. My best find was Chibi-Robo for a lot less than most sellers, with both the box and manual.
You really got me into collecting. I grabbed a ps2 and my library is currently still just stuff I played at a friends house when I was a kid but I think the coolest thing I’ve found is smt nocturne.
I definitely think them putting the discs in a sleeve and tucked in the case is better than just putting them on the spindle. With how badly packages can be treated at times by shipping, this seems like an extra precaution that would keep the game from popping off that spindle and sliding around inside the case during shipping.
Not gonna lie, I would be displeased if the game came in a sleeve. It's an older game. We should start keeping it in the spot and maybe adding a piece of foam or felt under it. Keep it secure, they dont make this stuff anymore.
Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Party 4, Metroid Prime, SSX Tricky, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Strickers, Mario Kart,. Reasons the GameCube will always hold a special place in my heart.
7 games for $275? Thats too much
Yes! +1 for using Mirror B for the outro :D those bloody Ludicolos!
One hidden gem for the Gamecube is Gotcha Force. At first glance it might look like a kiddy game, but that game literally, no joke, gave me daily plays for several years. I can't recommend it enough for people to play.
I ordered MGS: The Twin Snakes from GameStop a year ago and it came complete with manual and safety warning. This disc's were poorly resurfaced though.
Have a great 4th man! Stay safe
Heat the sticker with a hairdryer or your breath to remove them. They peel off easier that way.
The look in your face tells that you were really happy doing this video 😜
I used to wonder who would still be purchasing Gamestop games (other than casuals/family members)
Oh....so it's you
I'll buy from them if I can get a really good deal, otherwise I go with reputable sellers (I treat gamestop as a low-rated ebay seller) - that said, I don't care about CIB and such - I care about functional games (CIB and such is nice, but not necessary for why I collect)
Everyone should be doing their part and buying retro games away from GameStop. Who knows what will happen to this inventory when the company finally goes under. This stuff could easily sent to a landfill at any moment.
@LinklickZ doubt it. I can find lots of 7 games where one of the games i know is $25, for $15. And all of them were good games! Its harder now, then again everyone buy and selling stuff online
Gamestop's used product quality is on par with a low-quality ebay seller's (ie it's best to treat Gamestop purchases like an ebay seller with a below 70% rating) - so it's best to look at it as "is this price worth the gamble"
Normally $100 game for $49.99? absolutely $50 game for $45.99? Not so much. (rather spend that extra $5 and know I'll get something that will work :P)
Fun tidbit on my years in collecting: I've only ever gotten 3 "bad" products - 2 of them were from Gamestop, 1 was from another retailer (and this was just an abused disk - still worked, just had a sticker and sharpie on disk - which is not something I want to put in my good system), and 0 from ebay oddly enough.
(should note - the reason I compare it to a low-quality ebay seller, is because I know people who buy from them regularly - and end up getting about the same rate I get with gamestop)
You havent heard of MJR have you
Kirby Air Ride was AMAZING! I still remember flying up on the tallest building with the Dragoon like it was yesterday...It's too bad I ended up selling it. It's one of my biggest regrets as an adult now.
I still hop on my GameCube from time to time and play Kirby AirRide! It’s for sure one of my fondest childhood memories!
God, I wish TPC would do HD ports of Colosseum and XD.
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Shhhhhhhh! I still need that one also.
You inspired me to pull my cube back out Spawn. It was my first home console, lot of memories. Pikmin 2 and Gale of Darkness were some of my favorite when I was a kid.
Hangover sunday, and here I am watching this amazing video.
Good hunting Spawn. Keep it up!
I was inspired by your first video to order GameStop GameCube games! I ordered 9 and the only one that didn’t work was Smash Melee :( only Tales of Symphonia came with a case. This is truly gambling at its finest
Nice you got all of those cases. I've never gotten a manual for GC games from GameStop.
Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness is literally my favorite GameCube game that I own. The story was overall good and I never had a dull moment.
GameStop throws away the manuals for the Gamecube games, because someone could have written something in it, so you won’t get any buying them from the website.
Not really true... I got Robocop vs Terminator for Sega Genesis from them and it came with the case and manual. But you’re right, the previous owner did write in it... they wrote the cheat codes in the back of it lol.
Man bummed I missed this deal. I’ve been keeping an eye out and only saw the buy 2 get 2 on games 15 and under recently. Was a struggle to find retro games under 15 that were worth getting, buy 5 get 3 with no price restrictions woulda been way better
I ordered a Dreamcast, VMU, and Jet Set Radio. Dreamcast had a bad laser, Radio had an inch long crack in it. VMU worked. The best part was that customer service accused me of lying when I contacted them.
It’s strangely therapeutic watching you open up mail.
Hell yeah really been enjoying watching the building of a Gamecube collection
Those giant black stickers mean the game was at one point broken, but resurfaced back to life
Actually a lot of early nerds figured out that you could steal the manuals back when the old gamecrazy days. Even now with SOME gamestop stores with current or last gen console cases sometimes leave limited editions out on shelves to steal the sleeves and manuals.
YES! So happy you got F-Zero GX. It's not only my favorite F-Zero game, but tbh, my favorite racing game ever. I still have my copy + manual and everything. No, I will not be selling it. Some day I'll get an HDMI modded GameCube and play it again.
I was lucky to have a coworker of mine sell me a lot of games for decent price. There were some cheap ones in their for sure. But I was able to land complete copies of Metroid Prime and Double Dash. Along with Power Tennis, sadly without its case.
The content of the video caught my eye, but, the extremely subtle mirror B theme as backround music kept me watching the whole video... I love that Pokemon game so much (':
I've started to turn the games I own into a collection. A while back I picked up a GBA because I used to have one and recently picked up Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age for it
I just had a dream I found a GBA brand new in box with an Ed, Edd n Eddy game. Idk if there even is an Ed, Edd n Eddy game for the GBA and if there is I've never played or heard of it so it was a weird dream lol.
Don't forget to play the ds one, it's a good game and deserves love
Me too, only the Original back in May 2020.
To this day, whenever I see a Gamecube disc cover, something inside me still gets giddy with excitement. I never feel this way with switch games. It's like this old, childlike feeling that ascends from my core
The no manuals would drive me mad
2:44
SomecallmeJohnny: "Is that game any good? Anyway..."
If you don't already have it, you need to get Skies of Arcadia, either the Dreamcast version or the GameCube version, both are phenomenal
That end music made me smile so much.
Dude we need a GameCube collection tour
I beat 'Everything or Nothing 007' and 'From Russia with Love 007' for GameCube earlier this year. What a FANTASTIC console generation 😌❤️🎮
Wow they all came with cases almost . Not bad at all GameStop .... 🤔🤔 maybe I should do this and use all the extra manuals I have xD
I'm amazed you got boxes on six of those, and black label Air Ride as well!
I’ve been collecting gamecube games because of you, been working on getting the Mario party’s but it is quite expensive.
The good news is that I’m dating the store manager at the local game store, so I get pretty much first dibs on anything that comes in 👍🏼
Nice pickups! I also enjoyed Kirby Air Ride. I bit the bullet and bought Valkyrie Profile for PS1 CIB Mint and Legend of Legaia for PS1 CIB Mint.
I have never seen someone with better luck ordering Gamestop games with the actual art work. Astonishing. I bought a grip of Switch games, you know, the system that’s been out for 5 years. Yeah, half of them had no cases.
Hey Spawn Wave, can you put these “This is what the sent me” videos into a playlist? It’d be nice to just have them running while I’m doing stuff!
People in 2057: Guy's look, I bought Madden 07 on the Gamecube for $273. Such a good deal!
This guy: (Has his whole life worth within his Gamecube collection.)
Make sure to get Top Angler. It’s a fishing game that is super hard to find and getting very expensive.
I fricken LOVE Kirby Air Ride!!! We played it all the time at my cousin’s house growing up!!! I’m just now building a GameCube collection, and my brother got me Kirby, and it’s still so much fun. I also need the manual for mine though
Fun video I always like these. My game cube collection while limited to the 70 games I got back in the day is one I'm proud off. Some games I would like to get but I'm happy. All in near perfect condition with cases and manuals including killer 7. Good luck on the hunt.
Kirby Air Ride is truly one of the best multiplayer game on the GameCube. Glad to see I’m not the only one who wants it on the Switch
Wow. Great haul!
now these are the best unboxing videos
In Japan, you can find those games with manuals. Half price.
In the USA, the prices are ridiculously expensive without manuals and boxes!
It is better inside the sleeve because it prevents from accidentally pressing the middle button on the case and releasing the disc from inside, making it shake and scratch.
Just started collecting SNES and genesis... haven’t found anything too crazy yet but I found Final Fantasy II for $38 in good condition
so i was excited about that
Hi there, Diego from Argentina. I have buyed and played Killer 7 when I was 19 or 20 years old. I think that is SUDA´s masterpiece, even more than NMH. What a great console is the Gamecube.
LOLO 5:23 Low-powered Goku, can;t even beat up a Putty from Power Rangers.
F-Zero GX is one of the few GameCube games I have. It's an amazing game, i remember getting it like 10-12 years ago, it costed me like $25 and it came with it's manual.
And it still has amazing graphics at 60 fps and is just like the arcade with the Logitech steering wheel.
Its fun but really hard
Man, I remember back in the GameCube days nobody would buy F-Zero GX so complete used copies sat on the shelf for $7.99.
Great video SpawnWave, i actually grabbed Killer7 on steam a while back and you made me want to play it again, thanks :) (also speaking of Goichi Suda, i wonder when we are going to get an update on No More Heroes 3, that and Bayonetta 3 have been in limbo for a while now)
Love the Game Cube vids.
