Today I wanted to open up and unbox some GameCube games that I have been saving and working to collect over the last few months since the initial video. Many of you left comments on games to hunt down to build a collection and I thought this time I would look for a few rare games rather than a bunch of common games.

Mitchlett the only game that I can think of that still has traditional cheat codes is gta. I can’t think of literally anything else which is just sad honestly

Rage 2 and Doom Eternal have / are going to have cheat codes that don’t need to be bought with a credit card (some can be unlock in rage 2 with the deluxe edition but the can be bought with the in game currency with spending a dime)
Ender1645 ah yea your right man, I forgot about rage 2. Also that’s badass that doom eternal will have some as well cheats could be so fun in that type of game.

Yeah, Doom Eternals cheats are unlocked by finding secrets in the levels too which I find a nice reward
That’s one thing I hate about EBay shopping for games. If you’re selling a used GameCube game for $40, gimme some pictures so I can determine if the quality is worth it! And don’t you dare give me a stock photo! That’s an immediate pass.

Amazon has the same problem. If you’re buying directly from them, it’s horribly expensive, but if you use one of their 3rd party sellers, theirs no pictures. And they’re expensive. I find Amazon sellers charge a slight premium over eBay sellers for the same thing. Anyway, yeah, no pictures no buy.
I bought fire emblem path of radiance for $15 on clearance at Walmart when I was 7 years old! Still have it to this day and it spawned my love of the series.
Nice! Reminds me how I bought Paper Mario TTYD for $20 at a Walmart. Not the most expensive game, but good luck getting it for that price ever again and brand new at that.

I got my copy from Gamestop for $20 back in the day after I finished Radiant Dawn (didn't know they were connected) and those two games will always be special to me. Awakening, Echoes, Sacred Stones, Three Houses are all fantastic but I'll always love the Tellius series just a little bit more lol

Got mine at a Yard Sale including Radiant Dawn for the Wii, a GameBoy Player Disk, and some other Wii/GameCube for $1 each in 2015. I honestly was shaking taking them to my car

One Gamecube game I'd highly recommend tracking down: Skies of Arcadia Legends. It's a port of an old Sega Dreamcast RPG, and many consider it the more complete version of the game as it ties up loose plot points that were left in the Dreamcast version and adds a lot to the game. It's one of those underrated gems on the Gamecube worth a look for people wanting a good RPG on it.

It doesn't help the game didn't sell well. That's part of the reason it's so rare. Everyone decided to care about it long after it came out. (Myself included)

This is probably the worst time to jump into gamecube collecting. Prices are at the highest they have ever been. Glad I got mine several years back.
I recently bought GameCube controller Japanese edition.
I wish I bought a gamecube new when it was cheap and on liquidation. Can’t get a decent used one that doesn’t seem super beat up and pricey.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is definitely a gem of the GameCube.
Nice calm farming game with a big focus on NPCs, especially your spouse/child.

Make sure you save phantasy star data to a memory all for itself. Game data tends to corrupt itself for that game
Can use a softmodded wii to make backups
@singularon1 What I mean is you can use a software modded wii and GCMM to copy saves you normally can't move like Phantasy star and Animal crossing to other memory cards.
I tend to use 251 cards as my primary while I keep backups on my 1019 (since those ones are more prone to corruption during regular use.)
Not on an official memory card.
My first time my data corrupted i was using an action replay card, so it makes sense. However my second file attempt few years later was on a official Nintendo gamecube memory card and it corrupted also. Darn shame on both accounts as i was well into farming ultimate modes sweet loot.
@@patrickleblanc613 First time I've heard of an official memory card corrupting. They do corrupt/reset if US/PAL data gets mixed with with JPN data. Never, ever, mixed these!
Loving these collection videos and really appreciate that you're grinding for your collection with your own money and time instead of just e-begging and holding out for donations like a lot of "collector youtubers" . You've secured the prime time 8 am toilet slot for phone watching in my life.
You better have that Eternal Darkness, simply because it is one of the greatest things ever crafted by mankind.

Probably the most game for my money of any game ever, got it for $19 way back, still play through it at least once a year, must have put over 1000 hours into it between all my 100% playthroughs
The serial number for PSO is important if you want to play on the private server

@@MACo852 I believe with most of the older consoles they're still up with private servers but you kinda have to trick your console a little bit and do some other stuff but it's been awhile since I did with my PS2 but yes you can do it with most of the older consoles as long as you have a broadband adapter with the GameCube or PS2 I believe. EDIT: yeah I almost forgot to say this, there's tutorials on how to do it with the GameCube and PS2 I believe.
Eh, it's just easier to play the PC version's private servers. It's free, and has the whole game

I dont know about the GC, but on Dreamcast, without the serial code the game does not open, but even without a VMU, if you type once a valid serial code, you dont need to type again anymore because the license is stored on the internet adapter

You actually got the less rare version of Phantasy Star Online. There were two on the GameCube, the original release and then Phantasy Star Online 1+2 Plus which is a bit rarer.

Definitely, I beat the first recently and I'm playing through Origins for the first time right now, I think it might dethrone Paper mario and Skies of Arcadia for me as best Gamcube RPG.
It's also been skyrocketing in price lately and it looks like it's going to continue getting more expensive.
No kidding. it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I liked origins more but they were both amazing. I love the card battle system
When you update your spreadsheet of gamecube games, just put in mystery SKUs for your new additions. Keep the hype going.
PSO3 CARD is an underrated game. Loved playing that thing.
This is cool man! As for myself I just stumbled upon a fantastic start to my gamecube collection. A deal that came with 4 controllers, the console, and like 14 games and I got it for 40 bucks! Even better is that out of the 14 games there's Melee, Double Dash, and Pikmin 2! Can't wait to keep growing my new collection like you!
I catalogue my game collection via an Excel spreadsheet housed on my OneDrive. That way I can easily check it out when I'm at a store/market to see if I already own it.
I think is very cool your not taking donations of games. It would be easier and cheaper but could be seen as taking advantage of viewers. This shows integrity

When taking stickers off cases or the artwork I use lighter fluid. I know that sounds insane, but it doesn't damage or ruin anything and it allows the adhesive / sticker to be peeled away so easily.
Hey spawn! Im a ebay seller myself. The reason people tend to use media mail is because the cost of shipping media mail when the weight is under a pound is that it only costs 2.75$ while first class or priority both vary a lot depending on the buyers location and they are a lot more dependent on weight. Its likely that that the cost of first class was arpund 3.50 while media is 2.75. It doesn't seem like a lot but If they are a reseller or something then trying to get the lowest possible shipping cost is likely a must to make much profit.

The GameEye App lets you keep track of your collections plus values and you can backup/export your collection. The first video rekindled my love of my GC thankfully i still have my whole collection but have considered expanding it now
Nice to see this become an ongoing series. I've started recollecting for the Gamecube a couple months before the first video went up, so it'll be nice to learn from your videos about "new" or lesser known titles.
My most recent pick up was Resident Evil 2, and even though it doesn't have progressive scan it's still the best looking version of that game when played through the HDMI adapter. Would highly recommend.
Working at a used game store, I learned that the buffing compound stuck in the center ring of the GameCube disc doesn't necessarily mean it's been resurfaced. We buff the games from time to time if they have a few small scratches and that will leave some compound in the center ring and sometimes on the very outer ring of the disc. It doesn't take off any of the protective plastic from the disc, it just fills in the scratches. We have resurfaced some too, but in your previous video you mentioned the correct way to tell if it has been resurfaced and that's the feel of the edge of the disc.

I had bought Fire Emblem Path of Radiance new at a Goodwill a few years back, for $5. It was a great find.
Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II PLUS is the one you should of got, it costs way way more now, but many of the online only quests were added to the game and available to play offline.
Actually, it was only 4 quests that were added in Plus for offline play. It also had a few extra GBA mini games if you do the thing in the Fake in Yellow quest a second time. Though, I can't find if Chu Chu Rocket is available offline. Anyway, all of that is available online in both versions. But, it would've been cool to see him get the Plus version.
Gotcha force is Amazing. I still can't believe their has not been a remaster. Great choice picking that up.
As someone who has both shipped and received quite a few games in the past, First Class Mail is the only way to go. Media Mail is so much slower and in many cases more expensive for shipping games.

Get Cubivore! Its another Atlus game that flew under the radar and now goes for a tooon of money.

Chibi Robo was a rare game I bought for a good price years ago. Now it goes for crazy money.
PSO is a great game. You'll need the Serial Key and whatnot for online play on private servers. There was also a Plus version of the game that added some anti-cheat measures and brought a few online quests offline(also had better cover art imo).
Definitely the best time to build the collection. Late 2019-Present, GC games have been skyrocketing in price. I was fortunate enough to get some of those rarer games before they spiked (Thousand Year Door, Chibi Robo, Gale of Darkness, Pikmin 2), but I had to shell out significant cash for others (Skies of Arcadia, Fire Emblem, Twin Snakes).
Now you need Chibi-Robo, Pokémon Box, and Skies of Arcadia Legends.

Gamecube Gameboy Player Add On and CD are somewhat rare here in Germany (up to 80€ for both together). If you are into that, check it out. Maybe you get it in your hunt. In my opinion some of the best original gb/gbc/gba playing experience.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance; the uber rare GameCube game that was $15 on Black Friday 2006 at GameStop.
MSUHitman it’s not very rare at all. I’ve seen many copies. It’s just that it sold meh, and the franchise is pretty popular now.

@@socaranectien1933 THANK YOU This game is NOT rare...its uncommon at best. I have found 4-5 copies in a single year at goodwill.
12:50 remove the artwork, manuals and disc, then pour some 95%+ isopropyl alcohol onto the stickers. Leave it for a minute, then remove. It is the PERFECT stuff for quickly and easily removing stickers and causes absolutely no damage whatsoever.
Another rare hidden gem is “Cubivore.” It was published by Atlus in very limited quantity in North America.
I'm glad that I held on to all the Gamecube games that I purchased. These are crazy expensive!
Super Nicktendo makes me wish I would’ve kept my old GameCube and all my games. I was one of those people that sold their old console and all their games to help buy one of the new consoles every generation and now I wish I wouldn’t have done that.
I still have Wind Waker, Pokémon Coliseum, Paper Mario and Smash Bros with all the manuals from when I was a little kid. They’re in great condition too!
I kept my original games for my gamecube. I did not get Def Jam fighters and Gatcha Force. But i consider buying more games as i gain interest again or really missed out on something i wanted. Keep it up, i enjoy those nostalgic gaming moments.
My favorite gamecube game is custom robo, don't know if it's a hard or easy one to collect, just that it's a fun game to play

@@TheWolvesDen yeah, I wish a custom robo would have came out on the 3ds, imagine having like little play mats you could put together and it using the AR cameras would have you and a friend fighting with your robots flying around the room, the one toys to life thing that the world needed, although it would suck in the robot parts were toys to life, it be ok if you got like special sets from amiibos like having a Mario set, but yeah would have been an amazing way to pick the games back up

@@TheWolvesDen yeah, I've found the ds one a couple times on eBay, there was a lot that were only released over seas though so to play them in English it's best to find a good emulator along a English modded rom
I just picked up a gamecube at a garage sale friday with about 20 games and 2 wavebirds. No av cable though so i gotta get one.
They are cheap as nintendo used the same av for the 64 gc and wii
The image will look pretty bad with an av cable so look for either an s-video cable which will have a slightly better image quality or shell out the cash on a Gamecube HDMI adapter which is quite expensive.
Yo at least get a S-video cable if you can. That'll clean up the image quite a bit. Component/HDMI adapter is better, but those are pricey.

You gotta get ya Pokemon gamecube games ! Pokemon Colosseum, XD, Channel, or Box. That Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc that comes with Jirachi is VERY VERY RARE. Good luck with that one !
I think Pokemon Box is much more rare than the Pokemon Colosseum Bonus disc. If not more rare, Pokemon Box is at least a lot more expensive. There was also a Japanese Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc that gave a Celebi and a Pikachu with a Light Ball.

Still happy my mom got me Fire Emblem for Christmas one year. Still have it, still perfect condition. Played it probably 5 times through. Love it.
Phantasy Star Online was one of my most played GameCube games. I had four characters with hundreds of hours on each one. Lots of split-screen play too

There are so many GameCube games I wish I'd bought over the years. I buy any good ones I find but I've made some bad decisions and missed some great opportunities. GameCube has a decent amount of hard to find games and even harder to find in good shape these days.
Jon you need to get Kirby Air Ride. One of the most underrated games on the Gamecube.
One of the best channels on all of RUclips.
PSO was my favorite GC game back in the day. I still play the PC equivalent (Blue Burst) from time to time. It's a good time.
Emulation of Gamecube is the way to go, the games look next gen with x8 Res, and the emulation is near perfect.
Phantasy Star ep. 1 and 2 is my all time favorite game. Made a lot of memories with friends playing that game
My top 10 (non-Mario/Zelda) must-have's for the Gamecube:
1.) 1080 Avalanche
2.) Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
3.) Beyond Good & Evil
4.) Burnout 2: Point of Impact
5.) Chibi-Robo
6.) Geist
7.) R: Racing Evolution
8.) Simpson's Hit & Run
9.) Timesplitters 2
10.) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Some of those you may already have on the PS2 but the Gamecube has a better controller and in some cases better graphics shaders. Lastly, don't forget to pickup Datel Powersaves & Pro Action Replay for cheating and unlocking all of the NES games in Animal Crossing.
OldMan_PJ I will never understand why some of you guys think the GameCube controller is so great. Lol I honestly don’t like it much, it’s very awkwardly designed. I much prefer PlayStation controllers and imo Xbox has by far the best console controller ever.

There's a convention coming up where I'm going to attempt to make a bulk purchase of sports titles to get most of them out of the way and not worry about shipping.
If you want something completely original to play, I’d recommend Lost Kingdoms. It’s not the greatest game ever, but it has a pretty unique real-time card battling mechanic.
Any one else thinking 'charge your beam' while watching the Gotcha Force gameplay? Now he just has to use the 20th force glitch to get G-Black.

I still have my phantasy star 1&2 plus from when it came out put lke 200hours in this game, i'm starting to build myself back a little gamecube collection too, i started by finding myself a gameboy player, what i'm searching for is a clear shell for the gamecube but they are so expansive
The Phantasy Star Online code is needed to open the game and not just for online, at least in the Dreamcast version. Interestingly, in this version, you just have to type once and the license data is stored on the internet adapter itself, so even without a VMU, typing the serial code again was not needed.
You heard it here folks, if you want to ruin the fun for him collecting the games, just give him the entire Gamecube game collection. And if he refuses and tries to give it back to you, run away.

Path of Radiance is my favorite Fire Emblem, Radiant Dawn I love as well. I stupidly sold a lot of my older games (Wii and Gamecube) and I've spent the past couple of years trying to get them all back. PoR and RD cost me a lot lol.
cinematography is all about the lenses, my rule of thumb is... the larger the lens is, the better. If you can rent some Cooke S3 lenses, and fit it on a camera, you're going to feel like the next Lance Accord or something.
PSO is pretty great, never actually used the online functionality for it, but you could play split screen multiplayer and me and a friend used to play it with a GameCube hooked up to a massive projector screen, much fun was had

Also yes, PSO's Serial Number and Access Key are still important, as the custom servers do need a unique combination. If someone tries to login when that same number is already online, then it prevents that person from going online.
GameCube is an underrated gem. It was the first time I didn't buy a Nintendo console, as I went for the PS2, but I played it later and it was a very fun system. Likely the last time Nintendo really tried to compete on specs.
Media Mail is used because it's often significantly cheaper than First Class. Depending on the product, First Class could be as much as double Media Mail.

* there it is, only games on the system more expensive is Pokémon box and Metroid prime/wind waker combo (even though I think the Metroid/Zelda convo only has value when sealed because it’s just both games and manuals, super easy to just get a really good replacement art work and piece it together)

Highly recommend Lost Kingdoms it's very much a one of a kind game made by From Soft. While by no means perfect it's still super good.
Lost kingdoms 2 is the game I always wanted after lost kingdoms 1, and at the moment they perfected how 'pokemon' games should have been in 3d they stopped releasing any more of these games... Lost kingdoms 2 is rare game.
