- It's been a little while since I did an update on GameCube games, but I did some shopping over Black Friday weekend after GameStop put all of their used games on sale which included their retro games.

You’re the one keeping GameStop alive
Hahah true
Lol I do the same thing except with ds games which are more expensive
How? I love gamestop. Only broke people hate on gamestop 😂 anything physical I need for gaming I go to Gamestop for
What's wrong with gamestop?
I keep them alive to
Yes keep this series going it’s the reason it got me collecting games for my GameCube again
same here, I loved the GameCube back in the day so I got interested in collecting after some of his videos and after just looking at the prices of GameCube games on eBay, resell apps or GameStop I bought a number of games to increase my already sizable collection from back in the day
im glad i kept all my old games from when i was young
I love theese kind of videos. Pickups from Gamestop, package with random games online. Love them! Keep up the good work!
Yeah, the Online ordering by everybody has put alot of my crew at the USPS in various states of constant pain. When your workload Quads up overnight and not everyone can keep up more doctor's visits have been made than previous Holidays. Even our aisles to get the mail out have been more backed up than usual. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Totally understandable I feel for you guys
At least you have a job not so many people are that lucky these days.
These retro game videos are some of my favorites that you do. Merry Christmas.
Tony Hawk was Activision, so it was Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX. (adjusts nerd glasses)
" adjusts nerd glasses, looks away proudly into the sunset, time slows down for a couple of seconds"
As a rollerblade nerd I can tell you that the guy on the cover of aggressive inline is Jaren Grob.
glad someone else pointed this out so i didn't have to be that guy
@@donjezza Yeah, but the Dreamcast had a demo of Dave Mirra's 1 on I think the official magazine, anyway the level was "Woodward", which then was a SECTION of the level "Woodward Camp" in Dave Mirra's 2 on Gamecube.
Activision put out a lot of sports games on the success of THPS, Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX, Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder, and everyone's favourite Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.
Custom game cases makes cases for cartridge games and they usually cost around $4 dollars so, its what I use for my games, and I highly recommend them
I played so much Dave Mirra growing up. Tony Hawk too. That's when X-Games was at its peak.
I miss the days when Tony Hawk and Tiger Woods were two of the biggest athletes or just people in the world and they made me fall in love with both Skating and Golf ✊
This would be an amazing gift idea for Christmas, tbh.
I straight up avoid games without manuals and cover art
They are not that bad
@@69metersbelow25 for the average consumer wanting to play retro games then sure but for collectors... Yeah that's kind of a deal breaker
Sarcasm does not translate well.
Just comes across as silly
I dont mind if the inserts are missing, but if it originally came in a plastic case, I NEED THE PLASTIC CASE, cardboard cases are a whole other story.
manuals are okay for me. cover art is the killer for me
Nice glad SPAWNWAVE still following up on this series 😎
Love that bmx game!
Oh wow haven't seen you guys in a long time!
Games literally my childhood I probably have like 200 hours played on that game bc I didn’t have a memory card so that was the only game that really didn’t need to be saved
Dude, I love that Jesse and mike watch spawnwave.
Love the Extreme G series. Always thought they were cool.
Thank you for listening to me and doing an update to your GameCube collection. I asked you on Twitter and you did one so thank you. Can't wait for more of your collection
6:25 So now you can make Luigi barf up Fireballs in Dinosaurland by yourself. (Tjis specific version of SMW is glorious in how silly it tends to be.)
Some legit 1st party GBA games still use save batteries still. Not many, but the ones I know for sure are Wario Land 4 & Metroid Zero Mission.
I've got zero mission so, that's not great.
@@jak_1894 I didn't realize it did till after I had completed some important gameplay. Thankfully, mine still saves just fine but it is unfortunate that one day the save batteries will die and we'll be unable to save. At least there are third party methods to work around this.
Yes indeed!! Let’s hope that 2021 is much better and safer!!
I pre-ordered an analogue pocket so went out buying my favorite GBA games of all time... Castlevania aria of sorrow still eludes me!
Castlevania is one of the best game franchises known to man
I love how Spawn addresses the fact that people are worried about GameStop selling repros and then immediately pulls out a repro SNES cart from the bag.
Wrong. You did proof that you have no idea about SNES. This Cartridge is offical. There's even a PAL Bundle that came with that cartridge(called "Super Mario 5 Stars Pack"). So it's Mario Allstars + Word and in this Version, Nintendo actually changed some sprites. Luigi looks actually like Luigi and not a green Mario. Yoshi has his Arms collored green instead of the strange orange ones. ect.
Next time, google it, before showing your lack of knowledge.
Extreme G was sick, I wish that series would come back.
Man I miss Blockbuster
Me too
Same
I actually really liked Die Hard Vendetta. This just reminds me how good the Gamecube library is. Keep em coming sir!
Score on the cover art/manuals
I played hours upon hours of Dave Mirra 2 on the game cube with friends back in the day The whipout mode was one of the greatest part of it
this kind of videos I usually watch on Metal Jesus Rocks channel
lucky when I checked on gamestop all retro stuff is empty
I think he ordered these before all the gamestop retro games went out of stock
It's because Gamestop hasn't taken any retro trade-ins since they reopened from lockdown. Pretty much only taking current gen stuff. It's why they've had no PS3 or Wii U consoles since early summer.
@@tangytangerine I know that But I had no idea they didn’t have any ps3 or Wii U’s, Am Glad I still have mine from launch
@@tangytangerine yeah my ps3 died in August and they were sold out company-wide. Had to buy a jank refurb off a scalper on ebay for 200. I did find a better condition one from a mom and pop a month later but yeah insane.
@@timmy2k817 Yeah, mine had issues over the summer overheating. Instead of looking for a new one, decided to fix it myself by applying some new thermal paste(seems to be a common issue). Much easier to spend $20 on the paste and screw bits than $150 on a potentially busted console.
3:43 it was Matt Hoffman‘s pro BMX that was the included demo not Dave mirra
Dave Mirra was the best of those two, great music and overall enjoyable game; RIP
@@seighnobos I wasn’t a fan but damn do I miss those days, good times!
You know what would be amazing?
A SPAWNWAVE game room room tour.
Plz and thank you, John. Merry Christmas buddy!
I imagine they sent you exactly what you ordered. That's generally how those things work.
Love these videos!
Good luck for GBA collecting. Over the last two years the carts have gotten really expensive
Extreme G needs to make a comeback.
I absolutely looooove Dave Mirra Freestyle bmx 2. The soundtrack is sooooo good. Actually the first time I was introduced to sublime.
I know the feeling! I tried picking up a few games here and there and suddenly the prices skyrocketed
The Demo in the Tony Hawk game was for a Matt Hoffman BMX game...
Has he ever done a game room tour? Or how does he store his collection of games?
I love when you do videos like this! I dove into really snatching up gba games about 4 years ago and on GS website of all places when they started accepting retro again. Between my membership and the CAG16 discount code I ended up getting most of the highly sought after games like Boktai and Dbz gems since I have an eye for quality gems. If you can do away with boxes on stuff like gba collecting its not all that bad. Today I'm on a ds kick and FB Marketplace seems to be the bread and butter.
Awesome video merry Christmas happy new year here’s hoping 2021 is better👍🥳😁🤞🍀👋❤️
Liking these retro video's beforehand😁
GBA collecting and completionist hunting is crazy right now; earlier this year I put my Pokemon Fire Red manual and box only for sale on eBay and it sold immediately. No game, no wireless adapter, no cardboard insert, no other paperwork. I checked my email and the one for "your item has sold" arrived before the "Your item has been listed" one.
Great video and love the new hair do - the lighter color and shorter sides look sharp!
I'm glad you got some games you wanted for gamestop. I haven't had any luck getting the games I want.
Dang😁 John took us to the gun show 👀 Love these GameStop pick-up videos 💯💯
I used to love the Big Head mode in Die Hard Vendetta. I had some fun with that one.
A good way to display gba games without the original boxes is to use cassette cases. There's a lot of tutorials and templates where you can easily make custom cases that look decent.
Awesome vid man. Love retrogames specially those I used to play during my childhood. Happy holidays!
i was downloading collection of mana while watching it. Its on sale for $20 digitally right now
Aggressive inline . Holy memories 🤣
RIP Dave Mirra. I enjoyed watching him compete
i Can't wait for Christmas day Merry Christmas everyone
It can only get better my friend.👍🏻
I have so many good memories at gamestop. I would hate to see it go!
Gba cartridges really are super tough. I have a need for speed that's been through the wash multiple times, chewed up by the dogs and it still works. When I was little, my cousins left all my games out in the rain with the console. All of it still works to this day.
Did he just say Gamecube and RETRO in the same sentence? I feel even older now
Well bro think about it. GCN was 3 consoles ago now. When we were enjoying it as the current system 3 systems prior was the NES. Lmao
So its certainly retro at this point.
This, yes! 👍
Looks like you need the Pink Gorilla Bootleg Buddy for your office ;)
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World - great find. I've been meaning to pick it up for years. Front label looks great! That's a Merry Christmas, indeed.
If you are wanting to start a video game collection and don’t want to spend a ton of money, I recommend going after the PS2 and original Xbox. Those games at my local game store are super cheap
Can you show me the prices I'm looking to collect for og Xbox. I have discord
on that "aggressive inline" game, the blockbuster sticker is dated on the exact day and year i was born, September 25th 2002. thats really really cool. looks like a fun game too.
I really enjoyed Aggressive Inline. I thought it would just be a THPS clone but it does some really cool stuff.
Your Gamecube collection videos are my favorite!
Biceps looking pumped!
Shave those arms for some InstaG $$
Sarcasm intended..but good on you
@The Green Man take an L
@The Green Man Good luck with that one buddy
@The Green Man feeling a bit insecure are we?
@The Green Man That is one of the many reasons. That you fail as a human.
Blitz was fun, but I absolutely enjoyed their other games in the series more. Lots of fond memories of NHL Hitz, Slughfest, and Red Card
Ty for keep game stop alive
the early production of metroid fusion has a battery for saving
The gamecube prices now are why I have the entire library in iso format and play them on my hacked wii.
I ordered four Wii U and Wii games from Gamestop on Black Friday, and I only got them yesterday, and three of them came in generic cases. Never again. You might pay more on eBay, but not always, and you usually get to see what you're buying.
Or you could use Lukiegames
@@segunthepikachufan1470 I have heard of that website. Do They Sell Video games At a decent price?
@@taytayrazors9033 depends on the game itself I think
@@segunthepikachufan1470 okay Thanks. Because I am Going to Check that Website out.
Extreme G racing! Haven't seen that game in a long, long time
I really want to start collecting classic consoles and games again, but I think I'll wait until I get a house of my own
Have a lot of nostalgia for the GameCube and gameboy advance, always nice to see
It wasn't a Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX demo on Tony Hawk, but a Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX demo. The former is very different, the latter is built on the THPS engine.
Can we get a collection tour one day on spawnwave plus. Love to see what games and consoles you got.
Aggressive inline was a really dope game
I miss these GameCube collecting videos. Thank you for the update. Adding GBA games to the mix would be a cool addition to the series, though, I'm sure it'll be difficult to get those complete for a decent price. I regret selling Astroboy Omega Factor. Sold it many years ago along with a few other games to pay bills. Looked it up online a few months ago and the asking price for it was high.
Dang bro, you're getting kinda swole! If you are working out, keep up the work, it's showing! Thanks for the content!
The reason their retro section pretty has everything out of stock is because the stores were told when they reopened back in May to not take anything besides PS4/XB1/Switch as trade-ins. That's why they've been out of PS3 and Wii U consoles since early summer. So until they loosen up their restrictions, it's going to be impossible to find anything decent on GS's website to order retro-wise.
We need to be louder about this
@@smg4reblooperd182 Don't know if it's due to Covid or what. Makes me wondering if they weren't making enough money to support it or were tired to getting bootlegs & having to deal with pissed off buyers due to it.
Idk if you're aware but even if an eBay listing says "no returns", if the item is not as described (not authentic) then you can still return it. eBay always protects buyers.
I remember loving Die Hard Vendetta on the Game Cube...and I checked the reviews just now.
Guess I didn't have good taste back then =')
NFL Blitz, MLB Slugfest, and NHL Hitz are the shit.
I have something special for your,,, 🎁🎁
I remember spending hours in Dave mirras 2 level editor making ridiculous courses.
Not that it is that retro but my girlfriends younger twin sisters found her Nintendo Gamecube and were shocked and amazed that controllers once had cables and you needed memory cards to save your games. They were also amazed that old games consoles didn't require for games to be installed nor did they need to be connected to the internet.
@falchulk Not mentally challenged. They are both 17 and grew up in a time where consoles all had wireless controllers, HDDs and connect to the internet.
@@danbooke2001 I'm 29 and have been around since the days of dial-up where it used to take an hour to load the Google home page and if someone called your land line it also cut your internet connection. I also remember when broadband first appeared on the go and was quite slow especially by today's standards 😄
@@Donald_Allan - You must have lived in a super small town or very rural area. You were born in 91 and Google launched in 1998. Doubt you were using Google or a computer as an infant/toddler so 2010 or so?
Broadband was widely available by then. We first got broadband in 2001 in a small, rural town and it has been in major cities for years by then. You may have been born when dialup was more common but I was a teenager when it first became a thing.
Btw - the GameCube had a broadband adapter in 2002. Dunno why people try to brag and exaggerate about silly things. 🙄
@@Cerus98 I would say 2004 was the first time I started to use a computer so I would have been 13 at the time and I grew up in a village where it always seemed to get everything last. I remember it was 2005/2006 when my household first got broadband and I remember trying to download a song and it would take up to 40 minutes whereas now you can download a song in less than 1 second so it's amazing how far things have changed.
I never knew the gamecube had a broadband adapter until a few years ago. The first console I used with an internet connection was the OG Xbox 360 which you had to buy a separate adapter if you wanted to get WiFi.
Super bomberman was a family game night favorite at my house. Have a couple friends over and have a GREAT time lol.
I have something special for your,,, 🎁🎁
This just made me realize something that happened with a GBA game i used to own.
I got a used GBA game from GameStop where the save data wouldn't be kept saved. It was temporary until turned off. Now that I think about it, the cartridge was a little off too. I think GameStop sold a fake Megaman Battle Network 5 cartridge way back then.
Lmaoo i laughed a bit too hard at this
Dude, I freaking LOVED Aggressive Inline! The sound track is fucking AMAZING
Yoooooooo! Dave Mitra bmx 2 was my childhood, the level editor was awesoem
Random but high quality content
I ordered Chaos Legion on PS2 the other day and it just arrived. It was filthy and the cover art was water damaged! I’m beyond pissed off!
😮😮 I Had order me Some PS3 games last week From EBay I Hope and Pray that the Games or Not scratched all up. Or the Cover Art Not Water Damaged. Because I Will be piss off!!
Just be lucky that you got the case. It's been 50/50 with people getting cases with the games, with Gamestop sending games out in those disc sleeves for some.
The demo was for Mat Hoffman's bmx game, but Mirra's games were much better in my opinion. I still love them to this day
I ordered 5 games through Gamestop in October. (Battle for Bikini Bottom, Sims 2, Sonic Riders, Baulder's Gate & Nickelodeon Party Blast) It was during some sale so the final price w/ shipping was ~$40. I had three games that shipped out quick, but with no tracking, (Sims, Spongebob, Sonic) But I'm still "waiting for availability" on the other 2. Also only Spongebob had its original case (player's choice, no manual). I don't think I'll ever see the other part of that order.. haha
As a Canadian who has to deal with the lackluster ebgames I’d still take this to be fair, I bought a ps1 and like 40 games from GameStop while I was in the states a couple of years ago
Prob shouldn't tell you that EBGames is a subsidiary of GameStop...
@@lordofsmeg I know they are. Just referring to horrible site and lack of cohesion between the two
At some point I made the decision to only collect titles I want to play and try. No commons, no filler. I just don't have space, nor money, nor time. To each their own collection ambitions. I enjoy watching the retro game (and system) orders here,
Watching you tear through the gamecube manuals is making me nervous. I always kept mine mint and read through them carefully then youre grabbing them and lifting them up, all willy nilly. Haha, setting my anxiety a blitz
Bro it's paper 😭😭😭😭😭
Seeing your haul of FE7 and 8 made me realize that my copies were sadly not legit. Though I had a hunch, considering the stickers on the carts were… of the box art of the games.
Looking swol my brother.
Blitz 2002 is awesome. Nice pickups.
Eternal Darkness was one of my favorite Gamecube games back when it first came out. I think the first games I got with it for Christmas during that time, was Luigi's Mansion, Madden NFL 2002, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.
Dave Mirra had the best soundtrack.
I played a ton of Extreme G III back in the day. You don’t know speed until you move up the ranks in this game.
