Very cool build boss!! The functionality and the way it looks are a good combo, and you get mad respect from me for including your family into your hobby/adventures.
Toyo tires are awesome. I have 265/70/17 at2s on method nv wheels Great wet traction, no hydroplaning and seem to be great in the snow so far. Only snowed a few inches. I have a 13 Tacoma regular cab and it's great. Awesome video and truck.
I bought the truck new for around $33k and if you were to add up all the parts alone the total investment is probably triple the cost of the truck new. Check out my blog for a detailed list: defconbrix.com
I bought the truck new and the total amount invested is substantial. No one place built it. It was a combination of my garage, friends, and professional shops. Check out my build sheet for a full list of parts and links and you can price out the items you might want to include on your build. defconbrix.com
+Aaron Redding I had it built custom from Sound Warehouse in Salt Lake City. They should have the template for it if I remember right them saying they wanted to keep the design on file.
you can, i have the same pelfrey built bumper and theres 3 levels i believe of gap, wide , medium and almost no gap, i guess it all depends on you and how much articulation you will be needing
He told me he had 60k+ in additions and modifications. Not counting the purchase price of the truck. But also he has changed major components multiple times.

When driving down a dusty road, does the ARE shell stop any dust from sucking into the bed of the truck? I've had other shells that looked tight, until after driving down dusty roads and everything in the bed is coated...Thanks!!
Most think it's just for water crossing but it provides clean air in dusty situations as well instead of pulling in more restricted air from your fenderwell.
Beautiful truck! That being said the camera man almost made the whole thing suck... He is lucky that Taco is amazing.. Fire your camera guy I'll film for ya
I have looked into the alternator but really haven't found a reason to do either the dual or upgrade alternator yet. I run a group 31 Optima blue top and it has been awesome!
Sean Jennings I'm curious about this as well. I mean got those HID halos, the lightbars, the sound system and all the fuses and relays to the one battery?
Yea, all to the one battery and I've never had any issues. I would do a dual in a heartbeat it I ever ran into a situation where I felt I actually needed it. Maybe I've just gotten lucky though lol
He said it was a Pelfreybilt bumper. Looking at their site it seems like they have bumpers for most Tacomas, but only one or two options depending on the year. Should be easy to find one to fit your truck!
i never understood the snorkel on a nice vehicle like that. if you actually need it, you'll destroy everything in the interior. imo! leather heated seats and a snorkel! i guess it'll maybe keep some dirt out or something. nice truck though!
When in dirty dusty environments it keeps cooler cleaner air going into the engine rather than the under the hood airbox. And in extreme situations you may need it. Plus it looks sick.
+Sam Karrenstein i wonder if they have one at vato zone that just sticks on so i dont have to cut holes in the fender. that way i can look cool as well.
The Sport comes with the larger rear diff ;) the hood scoop is just an added bonus. So if you're truly going to build your 2nd gen Tacoma the Sport is the better route to go, larger diff paired with the ARB air locker. And now you know MaxH :)
It’s been almost 10 years, I still lust over this truck
i have to admit this is the most beautiful tacoma a ever seen.
MUCKFOOT you are 10/10 the dumbest troll i've seen so far lol
you seem like a great Dad - devoted, thoughtful, proud. awesome truck build too. nicely done!
So very kind of you to say! Thank you!
This thing is so sinister! A dream vehicle for sure.
Hands down the coolest truck I've ever seen.
Damm that yota is legit! That is a bad ass rig right there. Cool video, thanks for sharing this beast Tacoma with us!
Very cool build boss!! The functionality and the way it looks are a good combo, and you get mad respect from me for including your family into your hobby/adventures.
Grip tape on the sidesteps just for your wife. Respect.
Really nice build for him and his family
Sweet setup! I dig those slide outs in the bed. That would be handy for camping.
-M
Dang, this is GORGEOUS.
This is exactly how I would want to build up a Tacoma if I had the $
Dude that damn camera, quit with the wobble and unnecessary pan and zoom. Seriously made me dizzy af lol. But anywho, bad ass Tacoma!
Great job looks amazing, thanks for making this video I got a lot of ideas for my 2013 Tacoma.
Still a sick truck 4 years later.
Beautiful truck.

We dig them here too! Glad you liked the video (and the truck!)
dopest taco in the biz
awsome built
Sick Truck Bro
Sweet ride man
Nice Taco love it
Awesome 👍 Tacoma
Pelfreybilt makes a sweet bumper.
Sick tacoma
wow cool.. i like it bro
I hope I can do this someday. Or something like it. Need money though
love this setup man!...awesome!
Thank you!
Sean, this setup how much it the estimate cost? Thank you.
I bought the truck new for around $33k and if you were to add up all the parts alone the total investment is probably triple the cost of the truck new. Check out my blog for a detailed list: defconbrix.com
love it
What kind of bumper was it didn’t catch that ? Was looking at the victory 4x4 for my second edition
But where do you put the Bigfoot/Sasquatch incase you happen to run into one? Awesome truck tho!
I have a matching trailer lol check out my IG @defconbrix
hey gent how much did it cost and where you assemple that ( need an answer ) please .
keep up the nice work God bless you .

Do you still get any rub on the cab mounts?
holly smoke, how deep my pocket needs to be for all of those?
Substantial lol check out the build sheet on defconbrix.com
Can someone tell me where to get those seat covers??
Hi, what size tires are on this rig? 285?
That's hardcore
Nice truck. Question what's the point of the amber lighting?
Amber lights are way better for rain snow and fog not bright white. All you're doing with bright white/LED auxiliary lights is blinding other drivers.
is that sub Box Custom or can anyone purchase it ? i have a 2015 TRD Off-Road and im looking to add a Sub to it.
+Aaron Redding I had it built custom from Sound Warehouse in Salt Lake City. They should have the template for it if I remember right them saying they wanted to keep the design on file.
can you decrease the gap between the bumper and the truck? I want the same bumper but I want a cleaner gap line
the gap is required for movement offroad. if it were tight you would start damaging panels when articulating over obstacles.
I did not know that, thanks! I'm pretty new to the offroad build. Should be ordering my first lift soon.
you can, i have the same pelfrey built bumper and theres 3 levels i believe of gap, wide , medium and almost no gap, i guess it all depends on you and how much articulation you will be needing
I wonder how much he spent on that. I would like to do the same on mine.
He told me he had 60k+ in additions and modifications. Not counting the purchase price of the truck. But also he has changed major components multiple times.
If I had $30,000 (more?) laying around I'd do this too.
that is about half of it lol
Wow, that's awesome!
Boys please..dont buy $60,000 worth of nonsense, take that money and invest in large stocks like banks, airlines..gain %7 per year
+MaxH Almost a good suggestion. If you want to really do it right, more mutual funds and less speculation on individual companies
+A NEW APPLE VIDEO EVERY DAMN DAY absolutely, should have been more specific mutual funds. Made most my money off the canadian EIF mutual fund
That was a question lol
Just needs a matching spare tire/rim to "safely" get back!
Computer science major in my 1st semester...what job/field are you in?!?
I dabble in Marketing and Photography
Thank you!

Is this a prerunner and if not how would you know the difference
This is 4wd. A prerunner is 2wd so it would be missing all the 4wd components in the front.
what does the snorkel do?
Most think it's just for water crossing but it provides clean air in dusty situations as well instead of pulling in more restricted air from your fenderwell.
what company makes those wheels?
stealth custom series. those are the F5 model
Beautiful truck! That being said the camera man almost made the whole thing suck... He is lucky that Taco is amazing.. Fire your camera guy I'll film for ya
I was super thankful they included me in their coverage! Great group of guys.
Can someone tell me the name of the rockslider pleze
They are from Pelfreybilt Offroad with the top plate option.
Hey Sean! Thanks for answering. We're glad to see people enjoying your truck!
is this 2wd
Definitely not lol 4 wheel drive and locked front and rear. Check out my IG for more photos @defconbrix
coz I have a 2wd pretty runner ur truck can handle snow or going to mountain for all the heavy stuff to ur truck how about the ride
love it except the drawers in the bed? loose all function of pick up that way
I use the hell out of the drawers and wouldn't trade them for anything. This is all purpose built - for my purpose lol
Upgraded alternator or duel batteries...
Maybe I've just gotten lucky though lol
anyone know the bumper type?
He said it was a Pelfreybilt bumper. Looking at their site it seems like they have bumpers for most Tacomas, but only one or two options depending on the year. Should be easy to find one to fit your truck!
Pelfreybilt.com is where I got all of my armor from.
I got mine on order from Relentless fabrication front and rear.

darin amann You can always make one out of paper!!
+SupaNami toilet paper! i bet alot less dirt would get in that way!
+darin amann I think we're on to something!!!
Fake hood scoop? All those upgrades...lets just go for the SR5 or Limited hood
The Sport comes with the larger rear diff ;) the hood scoop is just an added bonus. So if you're truly going to build your 2nd gen Tacoma the Sport is the better route to go, larger diff paired with the ARB air locker. And now you know MaxH :)
Invest on a new camera man...
show trucks that never see dirt are stupid
this one just plays a show truck lol it's riddled with flaws from getting used for what it was built for
