Loving this wheel, its exactly what i needed in terms of size, feel and quality. I know some people love alcantara grips but thats exactly why i dislike the v2.5x version, i dont want to game with gloves on, so the grips on this one are just perfect. had a McLaren GT3 wheel before but after one week already i sent it back and ordered this one. While the McLaren wheel offers a bit more comfort because of its size, i found that the shifters dont feel very good tbh and also the grips due to the used material can get sticky after 10-20 min of racing plus make your hands very hot - and considering that in the 350 bucks for the V2.5 is already the QR1 included which standalone costs 100, you only pay 50 more compared to the McLaren Wheel+QR1 and thats a no brainer in terms of quality offered by the 2.5
I just got the 2023 Limited Edition with Teal Alcantara and it’s impossible not to stain it, I never use gloves and I hate the feeling of sweat being soaked into the handles while I’m driving, I was looking at Pineapple Grips but don’t know if it’s worth the risk of disassembling the wheel but I prefer leather. Only complaint I have about the v2.5 😢
Got mine in August! I absolutely love it! I always wanted a Formula style steering wheel, I didn't like much the red and black twin. But when I saw this more elegant carbon black and white version it was a no brainer. I was probably one of the first few who ordered it. I love all the functionalities, the leds, the switches and rotary encoders. The magnetic paddles feels absolutely superb! Really happy overall with it. Great job Fanatec!
plus the red black trim one has alcantara grips which i really dont like, it might look nice but for extended use and after a while if you dont use gloves (which i dont want when playing) it looks filthy and by that it decreases a possible sell value.
@@kerepeczkibence2540 I don't know mate. I don't own any direct drive base yet. The DD Pro a direct drive so there's no limitations of the rotation. It should be set automatically by the games. Ask Fanatec support on their website.

There is just a few little things that I would love to be changed in the next version of it. 1. Make the thumb encoders clicky with an increased resistance to them. 2. I understand it's not a PS5 wheel but the FunkySwitch™ 🤔 rotary encoder needs to be on the LEFT SIDE of the wheel instead of the analogue stick, I want to use the wheel like a PS5 controller without miss pressing buttons or having to let my fingers off the FunkySwitch™ every time I want to select something in the menus. 3. Maybe make a PS5 licensed version of it as a bonus. That's all, Thank you!
As much as I like the looks of the Formula 2.5, I am holding out for the QR2 to hit the market. I plan on upgrading my current wheel rims and the CSL-DD with the QR2. I cannot wait for it to be announced and priced.
@@spiyder I have the QR1 Lite on the wheels I am using (McLaren and WRC). There's a bit of creaking and some movement with both. The QR2 should be a solid wiggle free connection. I didn't think the QR1 lites would be a problem, but now its the weakest link of my setup. I want that flaw fixed. Thsts all. If there was an aftermarket option that worked with the CSL-DD and Fanatec's wheel rims, I'd happily go that route. But there seems to be no one making a third party Fanatec compatible QR.
Got my V2.5x in august. Got an advanced paddle module a few weeks later, then got the custom button cap kit. Wish i could tell you how much i enjoy the wheel but truth is i havent been able to use it because im waiting on a CSL DD. life is pain.

I’m having trouble unscrewing the secure black screw for the quick release. I’m literally using a widen flat head and it’s doing no effect. It’s just turning. Really frustrating.
The tuning switching doesnt work on my DD2, that message that you show on the video doesnt even appear. All that happens is after 5 seconds of pressing and holding i get rest message

It comes with the metal QR1 adapter for free, although you need to install it yourself (as presented in the video), it comes in a separate box. This answers your second question, and it's also presented in the video (just with the CSL DD, not the DD Pro, but it's the same).
I am thinking it is an advert to get people to buy the 2.5/x to clear stock before a new model, possibly with input details from the unreleased Bentley model.

RevLEDs output is generally controlled by the game. Most games support this feature. If you are using a CSL DD, you might need to run the base in Compatibility Mode in order for rev lights to work. You can also customise their behaviour with our FanaLab software in supported PC games.
@@davefinnegan-collins296 the new dd doesn't have the sony license they are finalizing with sony and will have one ready soon they said. Fanatec usually has the xbox license in the wheels and the base has the sony license so if you get one for both get the sony version with an xbox compatible wheel and your set for both and PC also 1 wheel to play on all 3 platforms.
@@taxi615 You sure? Looks like the DD's will be platform dependant; the wheel may be compatible for all three but unless you get both DD's you are still bound to one console. This is my current understanding.
Hi Ollie, firmware for all Fanatec devices are included in the Fanatec Driver. The latest Fanatec Driver can be found in the 'Driver' link at the top of the Fanatec website. The driver package can only be installed on a Windows PC. Therefore if you wish to update the firmware for any Fanatec products, they must also be connected to the PC. The driver has a Firmware Manager that will guide you through the update process.
All our steering wheels work on PS4/PS5 if you combine them with the wheel base from the Podium Racing Wheel F1 package, or the wheel base from the Gran Turismo DD Pro package. The discontinued CSL Elite Wheel Base + (licensed for PS4) also allows this compatibility. When connected to one of these three bases, every Fanatec wheel has at least basic functionality on PS4/PS5 like shifters, but not all the advanced switches and features are supported by games on PS5.
