    Just so you know how to use the Clutch bite Point properly ;)
    1. Engage both clutches completely
    2. Let 1 Clutch Go, in your Display should be 100.
    3. Pull the funky Switch down (or up) or rotate it left/right. The number in the Display should Change.
    4. Set it so that the number in the Display gets the car rolling. (35 for Example)
    If you now start you can engage both clutches completely, let one Go and the other clutch is Set to 35 although completely engaged.
    ;)

    19:50 Dual clutch/bite point clutch paddles are no longer in use in F1, so it's no wonder that that specific functionality isn't in the game. The APM also is also not a licensed F1 product, though it's a bit weird how the product page describes "F1-style dual clutch paddles".
    In any case, solid and comprehensive video! Will probably be coming back to this one when my APM shows up!

      @78910na 5 лет назад

      Yeah you're right, drivers have clutch paddles on either side but they both do the same thing (have the whole clutch travel) you just have to map it this way to make it real and engage clutch with preferred hand. Or map the other one to whatever you want really

    • @normand5847

      Do any other race cars use clutch paddles? Wondering if this upgrade is worth the money for realism. Why buy it if they don't use it anymore? I've always assumed that paddle shift operated cars have an auto-clutch, or a clutch peddle that is only used when starting from a stop or when stopping.

    • @yoepdeligt682
      @yoepdeligt682 5 лет назад +1

      Norman D There are plenty of cars around in various sims that still use bite point clutch paddles. Plus you can use the paddles to assign other things to it as well.
      Cars with paddle shifters normally use a semi auto gearbox for changing gears, and a seperate user operated clutch for get-away.

    You can set the bite point using the funky switch. During practice when you find the bite point for the car/track setup you can pull the clutch paddle and when you see the 100 on screen turn the funky switch counter clockwise to the desired bite point. When you release the first paddle on launch the second paddle starts at your bite point (say 35) and gives you the full throw of the paddle to go from 35-0 giving much more control.

    Just a small point, if you compare 5:35 and the instruction on the back of the packaging you'll notice that you mounted the paddles on the inner side, but they show on the instructions to mount them on the outer side.
    Only the two big ones with the spacers have to be mounted on the inner side.
    That's why in the beginning you said (correctly) that it's easier to mount them before attaching the module on the steering wheel.
    Anyway no big differences, just a little bit more gap, useful for someone with big hands like me!

    Hello mate a quick question regarding the screw orientation on the shifter paddles, don't they have to be screwed from the top as in the clutch pedal or can it be done like you did? I placed the shifter on top of the screw holes rather than underneath it and then put the screw from the top just like the clutch pedal.

    • @tobblestop
      @tobblestop 3 года назад +1

      I noticed this too, surprised others haven't mentioned! I went through the whole setup and then in horror saw this setup video put them on the other side of the piece extending from the base. In effect, this video's way 'pulls' the switch, but if you match the screws of the clutch paddle, they 'push' the switch. I think in the pull situation they are slightly closer to the grips so you don't have to reach as far. Because the screws face in, it's much harder to tighten or unscrew without removing the whole paddle base. It may also loosen more easily. In considering all this I still decided to match this video since getting them a bit closer means less hand strain shifting. What did you do in the end @Nasir?

    Hey Will not sure if you'll see this but thought I'd try. Would you say the Fanatec magnets are more or less strong than the ebay mod ones? I know you said they feel good but didn't really compare them. Im considering the Formula V2.5 or Formula ESport v2 but the magnets dont sound very strong. I love a loud clicky shift and the ebay mods have the best snap to them.

    Nice video, great tip on using the foam cutouts to hold the wheel during installation! I noticed though you screwed the shifting paddles on the inside (closest to the wheel), while Fanatec installed them on the outside (further away), with the screw heads facing away from the wheel. Was this to bring them closer for finger reach? (the clutch pedals are staggered this way). Also they recommend the washers for larger diameter wheels.

    Hello, good morning, excuse me since I am writing to you through the translator ... I wanted to ask you apart from the fact that the tutorials are magnificent, I have a question on that basis and you have that steering wheel connected to Xbox One ... since I have an Xbox One X, I say it because I bought that steering wheel and the base, but before buying it I asked the question to Fanatec, who informed me that the CSL Elite V.1.1 wheel base was compatible ... and last night the console does not recognize anything Well, I have downloaded the update for the steering wheel from 64-bit fanatec to which it was updated but it still does not recognize the console with the Usb cable that comes from the base to the console ... looking like this from the page of the same steering wheel that you have ..that are not compatible ... and the videos I see ..most are with your CLUB SPORT Wheel Base V 2.5 but for ps4 and for xbox one according to the official website ... but I would like to know if you have tested on that Xbox one console .. it would be helpful, sorry if I bother you, thank you

How do you solve this problem?. Since I bought it to only play with my hands without the pedals to be able to accelerate and brake with the clutch paddles. Do you know anything about this topic? Set the clutch bite point to 20 and it works perfect for F1 2019.
    Press both clutches in
    turn funky switch rotator to show 20 on the display
    release both clutch to set it
    When in game about to start
    press both clutches down

    Perfect timing, very helpful video! I already have purchased the F1 2019 wheel and the Podium paddles + CLS Elite LC pedals. To finish it off I will get my CSL Elite wheelbase this week. I've played F1 2019 for the first time today, so everything feels really new! Now, I've got a great instruction video for the paddles as well. Do you think I should install the Podium paddles right away, or get to know the wheel with the standard paddles? This is my first set of Fanatec equipment so there is a lot to learn...

    • @boostedmedia

    • @TheMack
      @TheMack 5 лет назад

      @@boostedmedia I've got the shifters mounted now. Man, are they som finnicky things to get in place! I spent about 45 minutes, being careful not to cross-thread any screws. The routing of the cable in the housing was, like you said, a bit tricky with the cable snagging on some stuff inside. I used an Allen wrench to "clear the way" for the cable while feeding it through. Srewing down he paddles was kind of frustrating as well, as the strong magnets kept pulling the screws away from the holes, sticking them to the magnets. Also the cable is very stiff and requires som serious bending to be able to get that Allen key in there to screw down the shifters, the cable gets kind of cramped between the shifter and the wheel body, which feels a bit so-so and makes the mounting harder.
      Now, as a comparison to the original paddles, they are stiff! Gosh darnit, I need almost three fingers on each paddle to get them to move. It's a real workout shifting quickly and sometimes it's like I loose some grip of the wheel, because all the strength goes into shifting, especially when shifting fast. I'm not quite sure I like it, i will test them for a week or two and see. The original shifters are softer and smoother, but are missing a click, they are just moving between the end points. Still, they might be more comfortable to use in the long run, not needing to go to the gym to build muscles in the arms/hands =)

      skilewis as I have got these installed today I can tell you it is fully functional as an accelerator and brake when in the correct mode. The paddle work on an axis so you can control inputs and there is enough movement to be able to have sufficient “pedal” control. Obviously it will be tricky going around corners and being able to have good control but as you have no other way of playing then practice will make perfect! Good luck pal

    The PAPM is great, fells good and looks good but the right side, the up shift side of my PAPM bended and stop working after 13 months, so no warantie any more, the solution given by Fanatec is send it back and they will charge a ammout to fix it or buy a new one. So, if you use it a lot, try other brand couse Fanatec will fail on you

      Well, now it is working \o/
      It maps key 60 and 61.
      But man these magnets are really tough. I‘m afraid to get a tenosynovitis. How about you?
      Is there a chance to replace them, like the Asher wheel? :)

      You could probably add some spacers but not sure if they’re glued. They crack very easily so you’d have a hard time prying them off.

    I'm wondering if anybody could possibly help me with something. I have a clubsort formula v2 wheel with the magnetic shifters installed but I can't get the middle shifter to work for gear changes. The clutch and the upper paddles work but the middle shifter does nothing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

    Does anyone have the issue that during race start in F1 2019 the wheel turns suddenly to right with a lot of force? What counter measures do you have?

      Everyone with a CSW2.5 has this issue. There is no fix currently. The issue has been present since the first beta release.
