    You’re 100% correct on the details over force feedback strength. Most people crank it up way too high and have no control and can’t feel the details. About the wheel itself: 1) The thumb encoders are rubbish. They turn way too readily and if you actually use them it’s far too easy to accidentally move them in an unwanted direction. 2) The stock paddle shifters are an upgrade from the GT Pro Wheel bundle but it’s worth further upgrading them to the Podium set. Not only do you get more choice for shifters but you can also customize their layout somewhat to suit your hands. 3) Get the rubber version and not the alcantara. It’s hard to clean the leather properly. 4) After about a year of use the whole thing creaks pretty badly but that can be fixed with some TLC and the proper screwdriver. 5) Total overkill for GT7 - you won’t be able to use half of the goodies, but I suppose that’s a personal choice.

    • @DigitRacingDG
      @DigitRacingDG  Год назад +2

      Well said sir, point 3 is pure gold. Alcántara is fine, but not so good when you need to clean it.

      @@acillatem1989 I love it. Although If you plan on branching out to other types of driving like drifting or rally I wouldn’t recommend. But I mainly play GT and F1 and it’s a dream only con for me is the thumb adjusters they can get bumped and change MFD sometimes. But other then that would recommend the smaller wheel also gives better feel for the road. In my opinion

      @@acillatem1989 I’m stuck on the same debate right now. I currently have the only formula carbon actually. I also have the BMW GT2. My main complaint is that the formula is so small compared to the 320mm GT wheel. The 300mm McLaren would feel a lot more comparable in size than the tiny formula but I love the looks and features of the 2.5.

    • @acillatem1989
      @acillatem1989 4 месяца назад

      @@elemento1991I just and finally bought the 2.5... it is just 1cm smaller in diameter than the dd pro that i got used to so i hope i won’t tell the difference too much. The mclaren has so good popularity that i was considering it very seriously but the shifter quality of the 2.5 was the determining factor (as what i hate of the dd pro wheel is exactly that!!). Now time to see how the order is repeatedly delayed i guess haha even though all items are "4-7 days"

    Good review! This review convinced me that I made the right choice by ordering the same one with an 8nm wheelbase. I've been considering going for Moza in stead for a long time, but many people said Fanatec is more precise. Can't wait for it to arrive sometime next week!

    I'm currently in the market getting a sim rig and thinking of building my own bundle instead buying the GT DD Pro. I predominantly play GT7 and maybe some ACC later down the line. I been wondering can you program all the buttons and rotart knobs on the wheel to GT7? Are all the LED lights usuable?

    • @Phantom096

    I seem to have a problem with the V2.5 and the DD+ in GT7, the wheel rotation in game is 50% off but in the calibration view it shows it rotating correctly and registered as DD pro boost kit, any ideas?

  • @skltr21
    @skltr21 Год назад +3

    It’s actually better to get the force feedback from the game as much as possible. I’d put your force feedback in gt7 from 8-10 and then lower the force feedback on the wheel base itself. You’ll get more detail from the game. The wheel interprets the details and can enhance them. But you need to get as much details from the game itself. Hopefully that makes sense

    How do you toggle the hud display with that wheel in race for gt7? I’m waiting on my formula v2.5x and haven’t found a clear answer as to how to manage the hud display and toggle between the tcs, fuel map etc.

    • @DigitRacingDG
      @DigitRacingDG  Год назад

      Depends on what base you have, if you're on the GT DD pro, you can go to the menu and set your wheel like the original GT DD wheel and then redo the button mapping.
      There is no clear answer but to try it out.
