His WR timing may be broken one day, but i'm pretty sure nobody will be able to achieve a similar dominance over a span of 3 consecutive olympics. When you see bolt lineup at the starting line, you already know he is going to win. You will never get that assurance from any other athlete.

Insane with the times he posted, I know, but he was effectively running against himself for all of the world record runs. Imagine what time he could have posted if someone had been on his shoulder for 90% of the race. Personally I think he was capable of a 9.4x or a 19.0x if pushed.

@@Crippycooke He takes much longer strides so even though his legs move at the same speed he is 4 inches longer in the distance run. 4 inches over 40 strides in the 100 equates to 160 inches or 4.06 metres and this is why he wins. He needs the first quarter of the race to get into stride, the middle 50 he is in full stride and taking 4 inches of his opponants and then he kinda slows down in the last quarter. Over each quarter he is taking 1 full metre off the next fastest and why he wins by such a big margin.

I think a 19.09 for 200m is definitely possible, for 100m I would rather believe something like a 9.52-9.55 would be his optimal time
