Megyn Kelly Explains Why She Spoke Out About Bill O'Reilly's Harassment- Late Night with Seth Meyers

Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
I'm still not sure what I feel about Megyn Kelly, but I've always admired how against sexual harassment she is, even towards Trump.
Wow a hot blond is against sexual harassment. Stop the presses. It's like Melania, a mother of an autistic child, is against bullying.
Like most conservatives, they are against anything that discomforts them personally, and don't give a rat's ass about anything else or anyone outside their immediate family.
@@NJ-wb1cz so? its in human nature to be passionate about a cause that affected you personally
@@NJ-wb1cz That is called individualism. The opposite is collectivism, that is being nosy about other people's business.
@@imshooketh1500 Correct.
Read her book, Settle for more, and see how she settled the feud. I really liked her but was so disappointed how she caved into Trump.
The "But.. but I'm a good guy now!" rag isn't flying.
She just burned too many bridges on her own side by being a reasonable human being about one issue that personally affects her. She's fooling no one, though. She still thinks 'Santa should only be depicted as white'.
I'm a progressive but I'm sure $23 million a year would convert me into a Republican lol
MrBibi86, you're exactly what's wrong with US. There's zero chance of taking money out of politics when there are cheap bastards like you all over the place.
Any top billionaire can basically buy entire House if he so wanted.
You are an idiot! 1st it was a joke and as a progressive, I also want money out of politics!
She was better when she was at Fox, actually. Now she's just sad. She pushed back and took the reasonable-human side on quite a few issues at Fox, tho at heart she's definitely very right wing and nothing's gonna change the connotations of that.
Shep is alot better.
What she is saying is so relevant though. Especially that people should call it out when they see it. If a person with a better history said it the comment section wouldn't be blowing it off as much. Yes Don't give her a free pass as a "good guy" of course not, but it doesn't help us to ignore some genuinely good words on the culture surrounding abuse that would sound good from either side.
Words are meaningless coming for her because someone wrote her a platform she now stands on.
If Trump starts to read prepared speeches that would not change what he is in the slightest.
"Especially that people should call it out when they see it"
Well, she didn't call it out "when she saw it". She called it out "when she could take personal advantage of it".
"...help us to ignore some genuinely good words on the culture surrounding abuse"
Uhm, you realize she's not saying anything that far more credible sources hasn't said before her? And the fact that she's merely using this matter as an opportunistic plea for sympathy says a lot.
MrVampdude “don’t give her a free pass as a “good guy””? Are you kidding me?
Megyn Kelly should have thought about doing the right thing instead of turning a blind eye the entire time she worked at Fox. She has lost all credibility.
What exactly was the right thing? Flush her own career down the toilet?
If someone who works with you has sexually harassed six women in the workplace and if the boss knows, I think the business should have a responsibility to inform all the other workers. It's sad that companies stay quiet and don't let others know that they may be in danger. And if you need to inform everyone they why don't they just fire the sexual predator in the first place?
Ohh that's right, he brings in high ratings and advertising dollars.
WOW, Kelly was great. That would be a good clip to include in education programs.
Like Spicey, it's too late to pretend to be the good guy now Megyn.
Seth has ripped this woman to shreds in his skits. And now she's on his show. 🙈
Two hypocrites united by desire to get more money from their common employer.
Emmette Gamble, her show is massively failing, that's why she's been doing rounds on all NBC shows, and all of those were extremely positive.
He has no say in who comes on the show it all comes from the higher ups
He probably got specific instructions to be nice to her since they’re trying to reinvent her image
He had KellyAnn on his show and shredded her in his skits too. From what I remember, he was polite and cordial to her as well. I think that's professionalism.
I want the mineral rights to Meghan Kelly's necklace.
Can we talk about the necklace?
@darladarlading NO!
NBC,
Please stop parading this woman on all of ur shows trying to build exposure. We see what ur doing amid her horrible ratings, but ur kinda just making it worse. Now ill never watch her show AND im sick of seeing her.......She STILL said all those horrible, hateful things on fox that u cant just take back. (Please utube her ppl)
Whoever hired her does not know ur audience and id be worried about what other decisions they r making as well.
Sincerely,
Keith 💩
She's got a looooooong way to go before anyone should ever consider her a decent person. I have no idea why NBC think it's viewers want the network to be more like Fox and therefore why they hire their despicable former employees.
You can't just tell people to youtube her as a reference, you should include your own links.
Shes spot on about the HR thing.
I dont believe a word she says about mr O'Reilly
It doesn't always go your way but you still need to speak up..period
Love this , great
Bill O'Reilly....who now has been given the medal of freedom. Jesus Christ.
We should listen to someone who wore short skirts, seemed slightly flirty, and looks good about behavior?.Seriously?.This woman built her career on mostly being an attractive woman reporting the news and now she's acting like Ms Noble?.What can she say that hasn't already been said?.NBC should get their money back from her.
At the time she was harassed she was wearing pant suits!
Megyn Kelly is likable and respectable.
Lol
When you don't no which necklace to use, so you use all of them
Well freakin spoken!
Well said!
I am judging this on its own, separate from who she is and what other things she has said and done.
She's right to a degree but she went too far when said that men shouldn't check out a woman's ass in a bar.
We exist because of sexual desire. Of course a man shouldn't be rude and stare, but the idea that other men should shame said individual for "checking out" a woman in a bar setting is asinine.
It's akin to saying women shouldn't enjoy the movie Magic Mike.
It's perfectly okay as a human being to enjoy sex appeal of the opposite gender, and it's downright oppressive to suggest otherwise.
Ughhh! I just don't like her! These five minutes is about as much attention as I'll sacrifice for her hollowness.
Teach people how to treat you. Call it out when it happens or get away. Those are the choices.
Yeah and who writes thank you notes to someone who assaults them sexually?? Not any woman I would care to know
well said.great talk.
Love Megyn Kelly. Glad she left Faux news, That was the only thing holding her back
She’s been a complete failure since.
MK on Howard Stern totally discredited her upset at being harrassed. It didnt knock an ounce off her. She just needed to time it right to come out and make plenty of money n fame out of it.
The one thing Republicans and Democrats can agree on: they hate Megyn Kelly.
I've disagreed with Megyn Kelly over many things (most things) over the years, but I admit that what she says here is positive and forceful. To my surprise, it has earned her a modicum of respect in my book. Seriously, I am surprised. Pleasantly so. Not sure I like her, but I can appreciate what she has to say here.
(I'm one of those weird people who asks others with differing opinions to explain their view to me so I can understand, even if I don't agree. So maybe I'm just more open to hearing things from people I don't really like and admitting when they have something important to say.)
Well said!
I have been sexually harassed by numerous women but they don't have any money to sue them
Why didn't she confront t-rump when she had a chance? Instead she sucked up to him.
Love megyn. Why all the haters?
people hate smart women Idk why
Gretchen was the smart one (classic violinist, Stanford Univ, Oxford Univ, Miss America). She rejected and sued Ailes, Megan sent him a thank you note for making her the star of the show. Enough said.@@imshooketh1500
That necklace is next level! Not a fan of her at times but well done! Wish her well
Hello
Everyone knows that $32 million is called hush money. He obviously did something.
I agree with her statement that men should be sticking up for women when they hear sexual harassment from other men, but her statement on this show doesn’t mean much bc on Ellen she said she would have Trump on her new show bc she wouldn’t say no to the president...the same president who said he can do anything he wants to women bc he’s famous and women let famous ppl do whatever they want.
She just interviewed Trump, a convicted rapist, - she wore a black leather mini-skirt showing off her thighs (she’s in her 50’s) and said it was so good to see him.
Gretchen Carlson sued Ailes for sexual harrassment, Megyn wrote him a thank you note. He made her the star of the show. Enough said.
To be honest, I would save a thank you note from Megyn for 9+ years.
Good for her for coming forward, but shes still said some horrible things and you can here it slip through when she does things like call them accusers instead of victims
Looking at the comments people seem to really dislike her. I don't quite see it. Part of the problem is that when News is no longer news but simply a branch of entertainment and that they spin their pitch 24 hours a day, it's very hard to not see the presenters as being part of the companies spin. What I have always felt is that they seem like actors pretending to be News people. In other words it's a performance. And each News channel has its own brand.
We’ll said Megyn 🙌🏻
I keep thank you notes indefinitely...
Feel bad for Seth that he has to bring Kelly to his show coz they both work for NBC.
Megyn goes on Howard Stern to talk of her body parts on Howard Stern for the betterment of women suppose... one has to love hypocrisy.
People are talking about Kelly in the comments like she's actually satan.
Human beings make mistakes, and say horrible things, and then grow and learn from those mistakes.
No one has to LOVE her. But don't discredit the things she said here, just because she said bad things in the past.
*Everything she said about sexual assault/abuse is correct.*
Did she try to quote Omar?
I don’t get it Seth. Why? Why invite her?
She totally misquoted Omar from The Wire when she talked about taking a shot at the King :)
Omar was paraphrasing Ralph Waldo Emerson: "When you strike at a king, you must kill him."
No meg just no
That necklace is fucking crazy huge! I think I like it.
um you dont have to report internally .
I'll be honest, why pursue journalism, when she's just a fantastic lawyer?
i'd still like people to ask her if santa is white, and if jesus is white. cracks me up everytime i think about it.
I just saw the movie lol I never knew this happened but I'm not from USA
Very brave woman. But brave women get in trouble with powerful men.
Thanks again seth, the GOP
Even a universal basic income (and universal healthcare too) will also make it safer in general for women to come forward, knowing they have that as a base, they won't lose their healthcare access if the allegation isn't taken seriously, etc.
Oh Look, Mahatma Blondie. 😑
_”I’m on NBC, now! Can you hear me, now?”_
Stop quoting Michelle Wolf!
He made you
You kill me you want equal rights but you still want daddy to protect you
Why are you all crazy against her? The current image of Santa was created by Coca-Cola and he is depicted as an old fat white man. She's right in theory, however anyone should be allowed to put the skin they want on this fictional character, not that it really matters.
She looks so small not sitting behind a desk. Her hands look weird. I had a crush on Megyn
she still worked at this certain station which encouraged that behavior
When a good looking woman would call on Einstein, he would appear in a robe he was nude beneath. He would let the robe fall open. If the woman liked what she saw, she and Einstein would presumably go for it. If not... No Harm Done. (At least in Einstein's mind.) I don't know what this says about the state of mankind, but Einstein's magical robe routine is a historical fact!
That necklace is just cray cray.
Money
Sounds familiar... , In the bars, late night meetings, when we are not there, you (men) have to say, "dude, no" ?
Blacks having been begging for just that type of assistance forever... all of my life in fact, and I am 47.
Now, most Blacks are just disgruntled, angry, untrusting, and ineffective members of society, ie, successfully marginalized; invisible. Its horrible when you as a person are exploited and/ or abused.
You women are just lucky enough to have HUGE salaries to ease the pain. And if you say, 'it doesn't ease the pain', just imagine what others are going through.
WE ALL HAVE TO STAND FOR WHAT'S RIGHT, NOT ONLY WHEN IT'S HAPPENS TO YOU.
Thumbs up Megyn, it's not easy.
She had me until the "when they make a comment about our ass"... Meg, one, you are gorgeous, I'd have to be blind not to notice... And you ladies are out bulls over an ass yourselves..lol
But hats off to you for what you did along with the others that she'd a light on this.
As a father, I am glad there are strong women like yourselves for my own daughters and granddaughter to look up to
"I'd have to be blind not to notice" you can notice but you dont have to comment on it duuh
just imagine someone doing that to your daughter just because she was gifted with a nice ass
Of course you're going to notice. But the point is not to make women in the workplace feel that their appearance is all that matters.
Oh look it's Megyn :o
I respect women like Gretchen and Megyn who have the courage to stand for what is healthier for a society! I would like to see women not allow this to even get started....no matter what for any reason! Thankfully I know of more and more companies that are huge where a whole group of the top guns get fired even after being there for 20 something years when they choose to be belittling, or disrespectful and make sexual or even comments intended to make women uncomfortable. I have seen 5 men be fired on the spot in senior management for this. There are so many healthy, respectful men that don't behave in such disgusting manner towards women are human beings who deserve the same level of respect but there are still many that think it's acceptable and normal to even jokinly belittle women. However there are many men and women who jointly want a more respectful, healthier society for ALL and the children that grow up in those societies and together they know what's right and there will always be women that have the courage to speak up and honorable that will support them not just for the women but because it's not what they stand for to treat a woman as less who could be their own daughter. Those men we can have such deep respect for will back a woman who is harassed and will stand with any human who is treated unjustly. They want the type of society where their mothers, sisters, nieces, female friends and coworkers, spouses and daughters can feel safe and we ar so happy that those men exist as well.
That necklace...🤮🤮
🤣😂
Eye catching to say the least.
SETH ROCKS
I can't watch an NBC news program theses days,. all I get is Megyn being forced on me.
4:26 How can a "serious journalist" go on national TV and say, "you can't even look at a person's ass" ? Well, dude, no
1) everybody does that. It's human nature
2) who is the victim?
3) good luck enforcing a "no looking" policy.
"Dude, no! "? Really? Am I better or smarter then smb else, so I can tell them what to do or what not to? If my women is offended by someone else I'd react appropriately...
It angers me that some people expect victims to act hostile towards their harasser. I’ve been a victim of harassment big time with my past jobs as a CNA in a nursing home, and more often as a bartender and cocktail waitress and very rarely stood up for myself. I often ignored it because I needed my jobs and I also always just thought it’s something to be expected when you are attractive and friendly. So yes, I’ve been very friendly towards men that were inappropriate towards me... even when they’ve said very sexually inappropriate things to me, some of them trying to throw ice cubes down my shirt, and even groping me after they’ve had a few drinks. It doesn’t mean I liked what they did or that it didn’t happen. I often regret not saying something when the incidents occurred but I’m not a confrontational person and like I said before, I just assumed it was one of the inevitable side effects of being attractive.
I want to like her. I really do. It's how I was raised, forgiveness and all that.
But I can't I just can't.
I know people can grow and change but looking back on her stuff with fox news.
Either the way she acted on fox news was a front a act or this version of her is the act.
Even in Belgium we know the disgusting network that is fox news, but i don't understand why saying that" santa is white" is considered racist? So are other fictional characters like peter parker, James bond and Clark kent. It's not racist to say that black panter should be black and major from ghost in the Shell should be asian ( sorry scarlet Johansson fans). If i was american, i would probably consider myself a democrat, that doesn't mean you cannot aknowledge her bravery in this.
Hypocrite alert!!!!!
Megyn rocks
Bill O'reilly the very best !! Morals Integraty and Truth!! This video is nothing but demagoguery!!! 🇺🇸
I think Seth's hands pick up velocity like Pinocchio's nose.
Get ready for softballs
So only when she's on the receiving end of power structures does she re-assess her mantra of personal responsibility and other right wing tropes. It's odd to hear her speak about solidarity after working for years for a network that aims to destroy all solidarity between people.
Hey crazy idea, maybe people move on from their pasts. That's a possibility you know. Not that I like her but come on people.
Yeah, this was pretty gross. Next he can have Trump on, and ruffle his hair.
That crazy necklace tho
You are the first and only one that was really is real c
We now have more women working outside the home than ever. The more we have, the more ...
How is there negative views LOL !
Too early ... she even gave Alex Jones a platform.... but hey, guess it gives Seth good ratings.
Seth... did you remember to ask her if she still thinks Jesus was white?
I don't like her but my feminism includes her so I support her as a woman who has been harassed and spoke up about it......still a bit concerned about her "victim/accuser" thing tho
All the traits of a Bunny boiler.
Just as well Bill kept those thank you notes, if he didn't she would have gone unchallenged.
all else aside, I find her very charming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
yooooo i really wish megyn kelly wasn't doing her awkward uncomfortable bullshit show. i've hated her politics in the past but she's obviously smart, she's a decent interviewer, she was NEVER gonna be a good daytime talkshow host and i wish she was getting to (or choosing to) be a legitimate journalist.
She is such a genius using the sexual harassment issue (not saying its false) to get a foot hold in on the left.
Too little, too late. Not to mention, morally bankrupt.
Her skirt was longer than on Fox.
Home girl...not shaming one blonde to another...but you should eat js...when you rubbed your hands together I thought "Ohhh precious"lol
Megan has the longest fingers
