I bought a pair of rings and I'm doing just 4 reps of some exercises like (tuck chin ups) but I do 5-6 sets. So I think I'm gainin pure strenght and not muscle. Or pure strenght comes with more muscles?
You guys really do the best calisthenics/fitness explanations, you're my biggest inspiration not only for fitness goals but also content quality as well. You've inspired me to really step my game up in 2018, thank you.
Massive content. Outdone in all aspects also in terms of light, color, photograph, background, minimalist to focus, calm and direct to the point, etc... Maybe the music could be in a lower level... Just thank you so much for all knowledge shared. The best by far.
0:39 When he says "hypertrophy" he actually means "sarcoplasmic hypertrophy", which makes the muscle bigger but because it "fills it with more liquid" as well as "fiber densification" so to speak strength gains are achieved by "hypertrophy" as well, but specifically "myofibrillar hypertrophy" which means the same but with an emphasis on "fiber densification" there's a difference and people tend to ignore it when making these videos great stuff though, thank you for making this :D just pointing out proper specific terms
8-12 reps is how many times you should be lifting heavy things each week! It's more about frequency than anything else so you better not kill yourself or you won't be able to do it the next day! 😉
VERY interesting and usefull explications thanks bro ! I have a suggestion for you could you make a video wich speak about the great training with the best order of exercices (strenght first/explosiveness/mass...) and the best rests between the sets for a optimized training? :)
coordination, explosiveness, max strength, hypertrophy, strength endurance would make sense. But there are circumstances that make another order better.
If you want muscle growth you should do every sets for 30-40 sec, not counting the reps. You can do every reps quickly, or slowly controlled. Controlled is better.
Great video as always, thank you. In terms of pure mauscle gain, which way is usually more efficient in 3 months? A) 3 months hypotrophy training B) 1 month strength + 2 months hypotrophy C) 1.5 months strength + 1.5 months hypotrophy Example Start point 1rep max 90kg 8-12 reps 70kg Isn't it more efficient to build a strength to 1 rep max 100kg in one month and after do 8-12 reps 80kg next two months and then again - strength training month, two months hypotrophy training. Rather then do only hypotrophy training for 3 months?
Calimove - are you guys planning on releasing some advanced workout plans? I'm on level 5 and ready for the next level but not quite in the financial position for a personal program
Not at the moment. The problem is that anything above level 5 is nearly impossible to desgin. At this point you could learn Levers, HSPU, Press to Handstand, Planche, OAP. It's too much to include this into one program and everybody has different wishes at this point.
Calisthenicmovement okay thanks for the reply! Maybe if all of those skills were organized into a sort of "advanced pack" with explanations on approach it'd be a good product market fit
I don't even know what to add to what guys already said about the quality of your videos. Just maybe a big THANK YOU for doing this for all of us. You guys rock!
hands down this is THE best and most informative workout video I have ever seen in all those years practicing calisthenics. Even as an advanced trainee I learned a lot, thank you for providing us this knowledge!
The only bad advice here is going to failure. It has been established many times that "2 in the tank" rule works better in the long run. Since if you go to failure every last set of each excercise, your fatigue levels would be too high and recovery period would have to be longer. Which equals less total volume.
Thank you! I am getting used to watch your videos. I feel so grateful. You're absolutely the best and the most professional calisthenics channel on RUclips. Hoping to see you guys someday and say thank you.
How does the rest time between sets alter the different training goals? For example how long should you rest for the Hypertrophy range? Amazing video btw
very unique video! almost nobody talks about rep speed when it comes to the whole "8-12 Reps" - thing. but rep speed is a huge factor because it determs how much tension you transfer into your muscles during a workout. It's no surprise that you guys are great athletes. but I really like that you don't tell Bullshit to the people. Making progress in calisthenics can be hard and often it comes much slower than you wish. But there is one golden rule: Train hard - but smart (not this fucking "go hard or go home" shit from Bodybuilding which often just leads to unnecessary injuries). Your video proves again that you guys are definitly promoting the smart training style....great work! Thank you for sharing precious informations for free...and happy Xmas! :)

Calisthenicmovement No mention of rest when discussing different training regimens? How could you leave that out?
Pure strength mostly comes from intramuscular coordination. Muscle size is not needed for pure strength

Great video! The most complete i ever seen 👏👏
My question is: how many exercises i need in my rutine to build muscle?
hard to tell depends on different things, like your momentary level and look and your goals besides building muscles etc.
amazing
great info!
