+1 for natural camouflage. I played BioShock for a long time without focusing much on the research but during one game I got natural camouflage and it was so useful that it changed my view on the value of research. Now I try to max out as much as I can.
I absolutely adore how useful Natural Camouflage is.
I just wish it was toggleable instead of automatic every single time you stop moving.

Natural Camouflage is one of my favorites. Also I generally thought the hacking mini game was easy (until the later levels) and yes I think you should do the other 2 Bioshock games

I also happen to enjoy Clever Inventor, as it can significantly reduce the number of components you need to get more materials, including for craftable Tonics!
Sportsboost 2 is actually even better than that, it increases your movement speed by 20%, not 5%. Great for getting that much further!
As for research, it's best if you freeze enemies first. If they were attacking you, it counts as them being in an action pose, and thus gives you the opportunity to take several pictures without risking harm.
Yes that would be great to do this for the BS2 and BSI. Very interning and looking forward to watching a play through.

One of the best engineering tonics is getting health and EVE from successful hacks. So if you're low on health or EVE, don't use a First Aide kit or pay for medical. Find an unhacked machine (can be anything including the health machine) and do it again imubtil you're health is back.
The engineering tonics youre right. The ones that remove 4 tiles are the best and the slow flow one is a big help.
Cant believe bloodlust isnt on here. Combine wrench Jockey 2 + 1, Sports boost 2 +1, Damage research 2 and bloodlust and you're unstoppable.
Definitely should've thrown Bloodlust in here. If I remember correctly, I included it for my Bioshock Wrench Only Build video I made a while ago.

You forgot the clever inventor tonic, in addition with the prolific inventor tonic and the scavenger tonic, it makes using the invention station’s very efficient.

That's my favorite too. It's one of the most unique gene tonics.

Agree with the list I actually went bear minimum on tonics usually just went in blazing but higher difficulty it does help the more you got. Plus research is necessary I rarely used the camera unless instructed. I was surprised I could get camouflage if it wasn't for one of your videos.

I love natural camouflage that tonic save my ass when I fail a hack and the alarms triggers, I can just stay still and let the time go on and then continue hacking
i think the MOST useful tonic is natural camofluage and my dad agreed to that question which is pretty cool
definitely do one of these for 2 and infinite.
Regarding engineering tonics. I equip the ones you mentioned, not to hack, but to lower the price of a hack to just 15 dollars.

I also like eletric flesh 2 or 3 (i dont remember if theres a 3) and frozen field 2, eletric flesh is super op with static discharge 2 and even more with electro bolt 3, and frozen field 2 is even more op with winter blast 3 (And great for a wrench build)
There's only 1 and 2. 1 is 75% electrical damage reduction and +30% electric damage output,, while 2 is electrical immunity and +60% electric damage output. The latter means that you'll be performing the 'toaster in the tub' technique with a lot more reckless frequency, I assure you.

I'm pretty sure everybody keeps forgetting that both armor shell one and two can stack giving you extreme resistance and also electric flesh 2 is one of my favorites because you're getting extreme resistance or complete immunity I think to electric damage I just like standing in a big pool water luring a bunch of splicers towards me and then just as zapping the water one heck of a way to clear out a lot of foes and a way to cheese the Big Daddy's cuz not many foes have electric resistance
Does electric gel work for this strategy?

I’ve always had a personal preference for the icy field tonic. An uno reverse card, if you will.

can you get all the gene slots in one playthrough if you save all the little sisters? and get more health and eve?
I've never tested it personally, so I'm not 100% sure. However, I know you'd be able to get everything on New Game Plus.
Harley Quinn told me to check at the very bottom of the description to find the tonic list and timestamps. I haven't play Bioshock in a while so I can't remember them all so well. I have a feeling my approach is more of a tanky/bruteforce style. Those little sister gifts are amazing and are one of the reasons why I always play for good ending. The idea of killing kids to feed your adam habit is pretty abhorrent.

funny enough I beat the game and beat the game on new plus mode but I want to get some other achievements like use all the plasmith and tonics I just wasn't because ice just shatters people and you don't get any money but I'm going to play on easy so it's easier to get some of these achievements but I want to know which which are the best cuz I'm curious

i thought the gene tonics are all interesting what i have on my guy it's static discharge 2 and wrench lurker or jockey i can't quite remember anyway still loved it
i believe some of the lower tier tonics stack with the higher tear ones

As someone who's not a wrench user, my top 15 tonics are: ( hard or survivor difficulty)
1) Natural Camouflage
2) Scrounger
3) Clever Inventor
4) Prolific Inventor
5 & 6) Human Inferno (2)
7 & 8) Electric Flesh (2)
9 & 10) Damage Research (2)
11 & 12) Eve Link (2)
13) Eve Saver
14 & 15) Security Expert (2)
Static Discharge doesn't make the list since it can anger a BD unintenionally.
I save my auto hacks for the safes , buy out most of the other hacks , until I get the research bonus auto hack and Prolific Inventor to keep a full Auto Hack inventory.
On easy or normal difficulty , I don't stack tonics and use a little bit of everything.

I hate the hacking in BioShock 1. If you don't utilize any of the ones that remove alarms and overloads. Some of the hacks can literally be impossible to pull off. Which I see as a flaw. You didn't have to use them if you don't want to.
Why not combine the same tonic with its original and get the same upgrade for twice the power?
I mainly wanted to focus on the best of the best for the list, however you're right.
So the only way to get armored shell +2 is through saving the little sisters? That kinda sucks
The rewards you get for saving as many Little Sisters far outstrips the ADAM you'd get for harvesting them all.
I just use medica expert 3, all of them is half your physical tonics which is too much
maybe i should start using tonics

A combo of Tonics. Like Wrench Lurker, Wrench Jockey, etc. You basically have to build everything around using the wrench.
