Wow that was one of the best video tutorials I have seen in awhile. Also, this has an actual pry opening where half the others I see the unit is already loose/separated. Well done
Replaced my laptop battery today. This video helped a lot. Thanks! Funny thing is that I was considering replacing the touchpad as well, because the plate was warped and pushed up out of the case. It still mostly worked, but was ugly and couldn't "click" correctly (I had to use taps on the touchpad to left/right click.), but replacing the battery actually fixed the touchpad as well. There was nothing wrong with the part, but the old battery had swelled up so much that it pushed the touchpad up out of the case. Now it is working like new.
Most Excellent! Used a guitar pick as the lid pry tool -- worked perfect. My replacement battery has a calibration procedure -- will now do that. Thank You!
Fantastic video for replacing the battery on my Inspiron 13 inch 7000 you were using the exact same model I was using right down to the battery number and CMOS
Thanks so much for this video!! Just finished replacing my battery and with your guidance it was EASY Peasy! Really appreciate the straight-forward info
Clear audio, simple instructions, and straight to the point! I just bought a new battery for my Dell and am definitely using this vid to avoid paying extra just to get it out in smh. Thanks
just some FYI... you didn't even need a pry tool... if you flip it upside down.. and with the hinge side away from you.. you reach over and between the hinges , you can just use your fingers and lightly pull up and it will come off... easily ... I just did one yesterday.. it was easy... and it had never been apart before..... Peace THE Z
Thanks for the help! I needed some guidance on prying the cover off. I ended up using a guitar pick and an old plastic card to shimmy around the edges.
Very helpful tutorial video. I have the same model but my laptop always turns off after waking up from sleep. I put it into sleep mode then I wake it up, running for a moment then suddenly it turns off. What is wrong with my laptop?
If the screw driver is fitting the screw head, then they should be undone but it might be they don't lift up as you unscrew them Maybe try and lift up the battery as you unscrew
I ordered the exact battery off Amazon (could not find it on the dell website) and followed your video to the T for the Inspiron 13 7000. When I first turned it on with the new battery inside it seemed to be working, however after charging it for a few hours it’s now telling me that the battery is at 0%, and I can’t use it without the charger. Is this just a battery issue? I don’t wanna keep ordering batteries, heading off to school in a week and want something reliable. Any advice? What should I do?
what screw driver did you use to get the screws off the battery. i've been trying for an hour with over 20 different heads and nothing will latch onto them.
Excellent video. I was able to replace it myself with this guide. Now, it's not working properly - it's been erratic since then. It turns on but then turns off abruptly a few minutes later. Any idea why this may happen?
hi Ricks Tech, thank you for your video! I have to choose which battery to buy, the original Dell is a little bit more than 100 usd, and an alternative around 40 usd. What do you recommend? thank you
@@ceciliabraun6494 hi Cecilia, I contacted Dell and they told me that they don't manufacture these anymore, can I ask tou where did you buy and how it went? Thanks!
Good Morning Rick: I have a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 model P69G001 and the battery needs replacement. Dell is quoting nearly 400 Can dollars to replace it as it 'is ' connected to the hard drive and thus needs a technician. Your video shows I should be able to do it myself. The battery alone is about 125 Can dollars. My unit seems a bit different but through the comments I think I can just pry the back off and get to the removal screws. Do you know if the model P69G001 that I have will be much different from the P83G001 in your video? Also will these batteries fall under the recall they had for their Sony batteries that caught on fire? My battery is getting enlarged. Do you have any advice for battery maintenance? Should I be unplugging this device every time the battery is fully charged, let it run down and then recharge it? When I took it on a 1,000 km hike in Spain I charged it up every day, then when I came home and edited the movies I made, I left it plugged in for 2 years only turning it off at night. Should I have unplugged it every night? Thanks for this informative video. glen
Hi Glen I find that to be a ridicules markup of a battery, yes it needs to be installed but it would take most people in the IT repair industry only about 15minutes You should be able do it yourself, if not see if you can buy the battery from dell with warranty and contact a local repair shop for installation i didnt know of the recall, but when you are getting battery bloat aka puffy battery, i would recommend removing it out of the laptop charging every night should be fine, i dont have really any recommendations for long term battery health sorry, unplugging the laptop from the AC Adapter overnight doesn't help much (maybe wrong but i dont believe it would)
@@rickstechrepairs Thanks Rick: I have purchased one off Amazon for 67 $Can about half their price, I opened the back of my laptop and see where I can take out the 4 screws and plug in the new one. Thanks glen
Thank you so much for this video, you just saved me on buying a whole new laptop bc I thought the trackpad had stopped working too but learned it’s just from the battery bloat. I have the same laptop make (P83G001) and am having difficulty finding the right battery to buy off Dell. Would anyone be able to share a link with me? (Hearing the ones off Amazon aren’t the best)
Hi I have replace my battery recently. It seems like there is no communication between my laptop to the new battery. I cannot turn on without AC charger. After turn on with AC, the battery can only hold for 3-5mins and it suddenly shut down completely itself. is there anyway to let my laptop communicate with the battery?
Hey, I have a dell inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 that won't turn on. I plug the charger in a light turns on. When I try to turn on the laptop the power buttons stays on for a few seconds then turns off. Should I try a new battery or is it something else? Anything helps, thanks :)
