I can't thank you enough. I lost my job and simultaneously my laptop stopped charging. I took it to the store and they wanted one hundred dollars to back up my information and then another two hundred and fifty to change the port. It was also going to take two weeks to send out and get back. I end up finding the part on amazon and it arrived in three days. I bought a tiny screwdriver set to help with the screws. And I changed it myself. And now it's working- all for a little less than ten dollars. God bless you!

@superstarpyromusic Yes, it was not hard to figure out. The computer is still charging to 100%. I needed a very small screwdriver, and I got it from my eyeglass repair kit. I would not have been able to unscrew all the parts. Take a Pic of the computer with your phone in case you forger how it goes back tgr.

Make sure you get the right jack! Count the pins and make sure they're in the same order and orientation gaps in the right place. It's dc power so it has to be right. Don't think they won't send you the wrong one or make it incorrectly. I think I would trust azon over bay for this..I can't believe I said that. BUT bay will get your money back!

Thank you for this video. Your videos are very helpful. I have a question. I replaced the DC Jack and was successful but now my keyboard has stopped working. Is it possible I damaged the connection while replacing the DC Jack? I don't see how this could have happened. Any advice is appreciated!
It may have come disconnected, you'll want to open it back up and double check the keyboard connection
does this bad jack makes the charger pin too hot and whenever i touch it its super hot and charging is also losse as usual

@@T-minus-infinite yes, it worked perfectly. Just make sure to buy the right DC Jack -- they come in different lenghts.
I had my DC jack replaced. Now my laptop won't charge, it only stays on when it's plugged in, and the light blinks amber and white.

I have an Inspiron 3502. My socket failed within warranty and it was changed by Dell. But 12 months on, it has failed again. What a poor quality laptop this is.
bought a new battery and that didnt work, changed the dc jack and that was it , a 3 dollar fix!
