The EOS 1100D is a competent entry-level DSLR that currently offers the cheapest way into the Canon DSLR system. Fairly easy to use and able to produce consistently good image quality there isn't much that's inherently wrong with the 1100D. Yes, the shiny plastic finish doesn't score highly in the style stakes and the small, low-resolution LCD monitor isn't much of a selling point either, however the camera itself remains solid enough. If you're a firs-time DSLR buyer and really want to get on board with Canon then it may well be worth saving up a bit more and lavishing it on the 550D - it might be a year older, but for the extra £100 or so, it's also quite a bit more camera. If your budget can't stretch that far then the 1000D remains a decent enough camera to learn the ropes with.

I wish they would make the camera have 1080p instead of 720p and at least at 16 megapixels. I also wish they would make it a 3' LCD screen and I wish it had a bit of a grip on it. That would be my dream beginner SLR, (my first). Mainly I wish they would improve the megapixels and HD movie mode.

Hi, are you familiar with "MagicSFXphoto" (just google it)? On their website you can watch a useful free video featuring the right way to shoot incredible pictures. This helped Daniel to make pictures which have that wow-effect when you look at them. It may work for you also...

More megapixel dosent mean that the camera is better. It could fuck up your pictures by too much noise..

nikon d3100 more good than 1100d
Hi, ive the canon 1100d but when i start recording after a few secs it says 'movie recording has been stopped automaticly' i dont think its memory because i only have about 10 pics, someone help me please?
I bought one from a charity shop for £30. For what it is, its ok, its a lot lighter than my 40D so better for outdoor as you can shoot all day.
Can i ask if should i do if my canon eos camera 1100D can't open? The battery is full charged.

If it is a bit agricultural will it take good pictures of cows?
More megapixels doesn't neccesarily mean better IQ.

I have purchased one. Been looking at the reviews. Hopefully I will learn something. I have had an ultrazoom Canon Powershot SX10is for the last three years. I have enjoyed it, have taken good photos with it, but my knowledge of photography has me yearning for a better camera with a more responsive sensor. I hope I get that with this unit.

hey I have this camera but I when I press the zoom button near the power switch it zooms in but once i've taken the picture it shows small on the screen as if the zoom never took? please can someone help me out on this!
well that's just for viewing,it does not have digital zoom ya know,
just use your lens's zoom!

TEA KODUA, You aren't able to set the time and date on the PIC unless you do it on the computer by using something like Photoshop.

This guy looks miserable because his mum bought him that camera and said he wasn't allowed it till Christmas, but he was allowed to review it.
The movie mode is great quality. and the amont of mega pixles dont mean much these days. my old 18 mega pixle gets shit on by this
