Bless your heart. I had a stroke a year ago. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was 6, the stroke affected both frontal and occipital lobes. After I began to get back to somewhat normal, I discovered my ability to crochet was gone. I have had to completely relearn crocheting. I tried simple potholder’s but failed. It was so frustrating. I came across the coasters , and due to your patient instructions, I have succeeded in completing 2 so far. I’m planning to make a whole set. It seems that my skill is beginning to return. Bet you didn’t know you are a stroke therapist. Thank you so much.

I have tried and thrown away so many "bad starts" while attempting to learn to crochet ( after retirement) but your videos are so good and so easy to understand that I have not only completed projects for myself but I have made gifts for my family and they have all turned out beautifully. Thank you so much. I go to you first for everything now. My next big project is a wave stitch afghan, and I am following your tutorial to get that done. You are the best there is and you have not only taught me but you have made it fun.

Thank you so much for posting this. They are so adorably cute. Literally 2 years ago I bought this huge bag of several ends of cotton crochet thread for two bucks at my local thrift store knowing one day I'd find a use for them -- each remnant makes about 2 coasters. I have been making another pattern out of regular yarn, which I thought were really cute and it never occurred to me to use cotton thread.
I was in an accident in 2005 and I have a brain injury which affects my short-term memory and language areas. Your instructions were very clear, and the camera work was great. I really appreciate your efforts to share this adorable pattern. I'm making things for a booth at our local farmers market, and I'm certainly going to add these to my stack -- I know they will fly off the shelves -- that is if I don't end up keeping them because they are way too cute. Most of the yarns were varigated in differenet colors and all of them are -- say it again -- sooooo cute.
    Best wishes

Made some of these awhile back for myself. Love them. Recently I was asked to donate a basket to a charity, I decided to do a kitchen basket, filled with pot holders, trivets, dish cloths, dish towels and naturally coasters. I immediately thought of this coaster and whipped up a set of 6. Would have liked to include placemats and a market bag, but everything was kind of last minute. Maybe next year. Oh, i also included a flying disc just for fun! Thank you for everything!

Jayda I stayed up the other night watching video after video about simple crochet techniques simply in an attempt to make a few coasters. Humorously, watching crochet videos late at night is a sure fire way to get to sleep. :) Your video however was so easy to watch and so colorful and well edited that I instantly sent myself a link so I could watch and follow along the next morning. Clearly there are many talented artists out there and there are some good teachers, but you are everything a student needs. Besides your cheerful attitude and your diction, you explain each step just beautifully, not rushing through the steps, not assuming the viewer knows exactly what do do.... anyhow, many thanks. I made a set of four coasters this morning in a short period of time and it's all thanks to you. Cheers.
(Oh, and the close ups are clear and well angled and I appreciate all the attention to detail. I saw one video from a woman who used brown yarn against a brown table and it was so hard to see.)

Thinking the same thing. I have seen the oval version. Do you have a pattern for the coaster but big enough for a pitcher. For the summer?
