This was one of the best tutorials ive ever seen for any kind of coaster! You explain what youre doing AND include written instructions along the way, letting us know how many stitches we should have total per row. I ❤ this pattern! My momma & i love love love to drink hot tea, so i will make some for us to use. I have found gift tags that look like tea bags at thrift stores (pack of 15-20 for around $2) or you can create your own template or print out some on thin cardstoc, too. And i like your idea for packaging! My friend & i are starting a little craft business, so we can use that packaging idea for several of our items. Thank you, so much for sharing this tutorial with us!!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much! That means a lot. It's been a while since I've posted a video. But I do have plans to get back at it. Even just once a month ❤️ thank you for your support!
You explain it so nice and slowly and with the text across the screen I’m giving this a go for sure I drink pints of tea and what nice gifts thank you 😊😊
Such a super cute idea! I actually used a thread and little label from a real teabag at the end. It is so easy to follow along, thank you! Looking forward to more videos! 🥰
Would love to know the coffee shop name! My sister owns one in Kentucky. It's a great community. I'm glad my designs can show up in some coffee shops 😊
Love these quick innovative use yourscrapsup patterns and it’s a flat coaster, important! The way u packaged them and collaborated with sis is amazing! God bless for sharing the wealth
This would be cute framed with maybe some fabric behind it. Cute hung up in the kitchen! You are great to listen to and the camera work is fabulous, I can actually see the stitches. Thank you!
So fun! I love this. I crocheted along with the video and finished my first coaster! It was like being in a virtual craft circle! 💜 I'm thinking of using white muslin for the tag, as well, so it won't get ruined by spills, and maybe they can be washed?? It would be fun to stitch something on the tag- a fortune or a flower, maybe... Thank you so much, can't wait to finish a set! 🙏💜
I love the video n the way you explained everything you were doing was great. It made it so easy to follow along n not get lost or behind in the video. Thank you so much 👍
Cute coaster. You did some things that drove the 25+ year crocheter in me crazy but I guess whatever works for you. I would suggest using a piece of cut muslin fabric for your tag. The paper is going to get ruined. I would also suggest embroidery floss or bakers twine instead of jute twine. You could then sew it through your crochet stitches and it won’t pull through. Super cute idea and good tutorial. Thank you.
Great suggestions! I love hearing the different ways people crochet and craft. It's fun to see those personalities 😊 as long as the pattern is correct, I'm okay with it! Lol

Thanks for sharing! I absolutely love this idea. Made my first one while following along with your video. Turned out pretty good considering it was my first 😁
I just want to say that your work it’s fabulous I just made one in red and it came out really nice. Although I would like to ask do you by any chance have just written pattern? Again thank you so much for sharing your beautiful tutorials
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. ❤️ may I know what size of your hook? And what kind of yarn you are using in this video? Sorry for asking Im a beginner here and I really love to follow your tutorial. 🫣
Hey there! I'm using Lily Sugar n Cream cotton yarn in this tutorial. I believe the yarn is a size 4 medium yarn and the hook I'm using is a 4.5-5 mm hook, but I recommend using whatever is recommended on the package of yarn you choose. Cotton is best for this in case there are stains from coffee or tea, so you can wash them. Hopefully this helps. Thank you for your support and happy crocheting!!
Love this pattern and how you explained was just perfect 😄. I think you are very kind doing this. I have just found you and subscribed . Love from UK 😘
Hi lovely tutorial I suggest you place your card to the backside of cups face out so as to show the actual beautiful crocheted cup at the front of packet. Most people will turn it over anyway. Thankyou. I will try this one. Cheers
Hi I love this coaster but I’m using cotton size 3 thread because they had the color I needed I like the size of the green one so what would be the stitch counts for thread
Hi, super cute coaster, thanks for sharing video tutorial! Great scrap buster. What size crochet hook did you use for the Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn? Thanks.
Hi there! Thank you. As far as the crochet hook size, I'm not sure what I used in the video, since my clay handle covers the size. But I normally go with a half size or 1 size down from what the package recommends (which I think is a 5 mm for this yarn in particular). The smaller the hook, the tighter the stitch 👍
Thanks! I plan on coming out with more content soon! I've been living a crazy life and plan to get back into crocheting part time again and even having my website and products back up ☺️ Please stay tuned 😇
Hey there! It depends on the yarn you use. Never hurts to follow the recommended size on the package of yarn. I think I used a 4.5mm hook for a typical 4 M size cotton yarn. 🧶
A 4.5 or 5 mm crochet hook should suffice. Acrylic yarn is fine. Type of yarn is just for personal preference. Cotton is easier to wash, since it's a coaster, than acrylic would be. But you can use acrylic if that's the only yarn you have.
This is cute, and I like the tea bag addition. *But* you really should credit the designer who came up with the base you're using for it. Repeat Crafter Me designed this in 20015, and Kitty's Creations Boutique did the variation you're using 7 years ago in a RUclips video.
Because this is my version of making a mug shaped coaster, there is no designer that needs to be given credit. I understand the point you're making, but in the crochet community, it is only copyright infringing if a designer claims someone else's design as their own. Not only is that not the case here, but even if it were, it is simply a tutorial and anyone can explain the same pattern differently/better quality. I'm well versed on copyright in the crochet community and even encourage my followers to sell these products they make from these patterns themselves. That's the beautiful thing about this craft. I wonder who owns the granny square 🤔 lots of videos on that pattern... Have a great day 😊
To clarify, if this were someone else's design, I would recognize them. It's just simply not. It's my idea for this version. I'm not denying there are similar patterns out there. My teaching and my variation is mine. Yes, there are great, fellow crochet designers and I love their work making similar products. In fact, in some of my other videos, I most certainly have given credit to designers when I use their patterns and ideas. Like the daisy flower here: ruclips.net/video/4vVwfdmbc9Y/видео.html or in the description box of this video for the sweater: ruclips.net/video/Ldj_YBH07io/видео.html Because you're right, it is common courtesy. I also promote the crocheters on Instagram when they send me their designs. It's part of my niche. I appreciate your concern, but I promise there is nothing mischievous going on here 😁

Thank you for the kind words 🤗 I do not have a written pattern available right now, but that's a good idea in the future.

Hi,can you make these a little bigger ,and do you do video for a coffee mug 😁
For coffee, just change the color of the liquid 😊 and sure, you can make em bigger by adding more increase rows. That'd be a good idea!
Hi i love this .. will dk cotton yarn work for this
Thank you! It sure will!
thanks for your quick response
Very pretty! What’s the little steam design that’s coming out on top of the coffee cup?
Hi there, thank you! That is just a graphic I used in the thumbnail photo. Not part of the design 😊
Hi lovely tutorial I suggest you place your card to the backside of cups face out so as to show the actual beautiful crocheted cup at the front of packet. Most people will turn it over anyway. Thankyou. I will try this one. Cheers
Write words of wisdom on the tea bags!
What a great idea!!
thank you
So beautiful coaster ,mam which no crochet ? 🙏
Hi I love this coaster but I’m using cotton size 3 thread because they had the color I needed I like the size of the green one so what would be the stitch counts for thread
Lay the card t bag on some cardboard, Cork or soft wood then you can put any size hole and the t bag won't get wrinkled
❤สวยมาก🎉
I don't have a 4.5 hook on hand. Would it be better to substitute with a 5 or 4.25?
Yes! That shouldn't be a problem 😊
I sub to you yay
Thanks for the tutorial. This was fun. Where did you get your stamp from?
Thanks! Stamp is from Holly at Darling Paperie
Hi, super cute coaster, thanks for sharing video tutorial! Great scrap buster. What size crochet hook did you use for the Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn? Thanks.

But I normally go with a half size or 1 size down from what the package recommends (which I think is a 5 mm for this yarn in particular). The smaller the hook, the tighter the stitch 👍

Hi Mam thank you for this lovely video Mam just want to know if this made of wool or thread Can I make this with thread please reply
This is made with cotton yarn. Thank you!
no glue! THEY MAY BE USED AND THE HEAT MAY EFFECT THE GLUE. PLUS THEY JUST LOOK BETTER AND MORE ORGANIC WITH THE MOVEMENT
I made bunch
What size hook is good to use?
For medium 4, ww yarn, I would suggest a 4, 4.5, or 5 mm crochet hook for these coasters 😊
I wouldn’t glue them down because if they need to get washed the paper is going to desolve.
That is true too
what size hook do you use for this pattern?
Hey there! It depends on the yarn you use. Never hurts to follow the recommended size on the package of yarn. I think I used a 4.5mm hook for a typical 4 M size cotton yarn. 🧶
Lovely
What size yarn and needle size to be ordered
Please reply
Any size 4 medium yarn will do, preferably cotton, and whatever the recommended hook size for that yarn. I'm guessing 4.5-5mm
@@thenorthstitch Thankyou so much
What size needle was used and can i use acrylic yarn
A 4.5 or 5 mm crochet hook should suffice. Acrylic yarn is fine. Type of yarn is just for personal preference. Cotton is easier to wash, since it's a coaster, than acrylic would be. But you can use acrylic if that's the only yarn you have.
Can you use crochet thread
If you wanted to, but I would add more rows, since thread is much thinner than yarn. It won't be the size or the right pattern to make a coaster.
I like the coffee mat. But u need to stay in the cammer because u are off to the side and can't see the work that well. ❤️☺️
😅😅
Where is the video on how to make the mug itself?
Did you watch the video?
Where is the first video
So wish there was a written pattern.
Maybe some day 😁 check out www.thenorthstitch.com
