This is one of the best versions of the entertainer I had ever heard it’s fantastic I love how it’s a straight piece which makes it more fascinating and really enjoyable.
You raise my spirits on Down Days during the COVID-19 isolation. You take me into a wholly new world. Thanks for sharing so much on RUclips: it is a generous gift.
Wow Stephanie you are one of my favorite female pianist there should be more females try pianist that should be known I think that’s ride music should be kept alive and it should never die. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome version of the entertainer I’ll be glad to hear some more from you Stephanie I think you should do a great solo album of great stride songs My favorite straight pianist would have to be the only nearby also your husband has been Paulo and I also love art Tatum who is one of the greatest drag pianist along with James P Johnson.
I'm thinking by myself... How can a human being play piano in this mode? I'm only a listener of music, not a musician, but for me to enjoy executions like this one is... Heaven! Thank you and God Bless you
Wowsiwowsiwoowoo!!!! not only are you extremely talented it's obvious that you are at one with your instrument that's very rare. One day you will be in a class by yourself.
I know we all call her Stephanie, but she really is an accomplished pianist and the best of her generation in stride piano. It would be less confusing and more adequate to call her Maestro Stephanie. Some people just think she is another girl doing youtube, not realizing they're watching the best and only one we have in this world right now.
this deserves millions of views, but what can yopu expect from a period which invented rap ??!!!!! She is just outstanding, such a consumate and happy musician !
What does rap have to do with this conversation? Rap is a 50 year old art form and has its geniuses just like stride. They had to suffer inane commentary like this in their time too.
@@wearetheledbetters haha yea one couldn't be comparing apples and oranges musically any harder if they tried. also, those who reject rap and hip hop as listenable genres due to a perceived lack of musical proficiency are ironically legitimizing all the pent up frustration/ire that birthed the genre in the first place. :D
Jazz was one of the first great expressions of African American musical creativity, rap was a later one. And people back then decryed jazz as you decry rap now. Nothing but an expression of ignorance. And yes Stephanie rocks, or 'jazz's' so to speak.
Stephanie did a magnificent job, but she was hampered by the dead wood in the upper octave of that piano. The felt on the hammers was packed down so tightly that when it struck the strings it delivered a small, “tinkly” sound instead of ringing out cleanly. The tech that tuned the piano could have spent 10 minutes voicing that upper register…a common but often overlooked job.
@@davidhess6593that’s because you’ve never sat down and played a properly voiced piano. You don’t know what you’ve been missing for those 70 years. A shame.
I would challenge you Stephanie to learn some art Tatum stuff including the number that he composed called the shop and there are some other great stride versions of songs that you can definitely do thank you so much for sharing your great piano playing I love it I could listen to stride piano music all day and never get tired of it.
Around 4:30--oh, THAT's why people used to try to sneak a look at Beethoven's (et al) hands while he was playing! Great performance, really, and is this an arrangement of hers? Kudos either way!
I love everything she does, but this time she sounds like Knocky Parker, who I knew personally and who I recorded two duets with on an album that was released in the seventies.
If only Mr. Joplin had been alive to hear this!
Wow! What a magnificently talented young lady. This is staggeringly good. Thank you!
I am regularly glad with the suggestions RUclips gives. This was absolute fantastic, what a way of performing this great music... thank you
Never thought anyone could ever improve Scott Joplin, but she did. Of course, not the composition but the performance.
Stephanie is so matter fact about her extraordinary skills, she does it all as if it is nothing!!
Stephanie, l’m a big Joplin fan and love stride as well. But l never thought of putting the two of them together. You performance was a pure delight
This is one of the best versions of the entertainer I had ever heard it’s fantastic I love how it’s a straight piece which makes it more fascinating and really enjoyable.

To borrow from Aristotle, rap wasn't invented, it was excreted.

Not a lotta people know that.??
I've plated pianos for over 70 years and that's how the upper octaves of all of them, including my current electronic piano, sound.

@@Zircon10 Yeah, poor me! But here Stephanie's playing an upright, not a concert grand, and she's playing Joplin, not Chopin.😅
Brilliant. Thank you
Well done ! Bravo
Speechless
La mano sinistra di Stephanie anche al rallentatore non si riesce a seguire tanto é veloce!! E' un vero fenomeno !
WONDERFUL!!
Genius....
Stephanie's left hand really is like Donald Lambert's left hand 🔥
Holy smokes, even the poor piano didn't see that coming ... wow!!
Absolute Genius!
Well done !
Exhilarating
Divine left hand.
Fats, James P. , Donald and Willie The Lion agree: « at the end, we found our Stride Goddess! »
EXCELLENT !
You rule Miss Trick!!!
Style is very reminiscent of Teddy Wilson . Bravo.
IMO she plays more in the Fats Walle style
Right hand is like Teddy... but left hand is all stride.
Virtuose interpretation
tout un frivolifeste!

She has eyes on her fingertips

驚艷
Her stride database is rich to be able to pull of something like this
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Can't so hear in Cleveland, Ohio, again again!
