Well, I'm old enough to have heard many versions of this song (Frank Sinatra's comes to mind first) and can honestly say have never been a big fan of this song. That is where you two have supreme talent. To take a song and not just breath new live into it, but to resurrect it into a fantastic performance piece. Awesome....never would have conceived so many piano styles could be applied to it. Jazz improvisation, show tune, stride(?!), and just both your own brand of eclectic piano mastery. What's a treat is that thanks to the lockdown and YT we get to watch a new artform (Trick Alderighi four hand piano) progress and grow.
Brilliant, and fun to see the pair of you running around each other again - less space for you than when you are stage. Mack the Knife is such a fun tune with such horrific lyrics! My favourite version of this is a live recording of Ella Fitzgerald with Duke Ellington. She totally forgets the words and has to get herself out of trouble by improvising!
So fun. Loads of easy originality. And thanks for the notes on the piece, helps us learn more and more about this great music. Entertaining. Which should be the point of all music. All smiles here. Enjoyed it to the max. Beautiful people doing beautiful music.
Wow! What a heart-warming performance! You've presented a shining beautiful example of what comes from loving the piano. loving music, and obviously loving each other! Wonderful!
You are always fantastic for arrangements and interpretations, as well as for the superfine technique, rhythm and harmony ... Your "Mack the Knife" is absolutely incredible: 110 and honours!
One of my favorite songs, and I knew from the get-go that it was going to get really put thru its paces. Style-wise, there was a little of everything, and I enjoyed it all.
My favorite singer of this has always been Bobby Darin ,And to be perfectly honest I never really paid attention to the words. The music always captured my attention. Now you and the music have me feeling Fantastic. Thank you so much. Love as ever ,Chris. 💕🎶🥀🎶💕🥰
@@StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi sorry ,I was listening to “Exactly Like You.”🥰At, FiloLi 2012. Love everything played that afternoon. Fantastic music. ,love Chris ♥️🎶🥀🎶♥️🥰😎
It was already a great tune but your interpretation of it is outstanding , as ever .I always smile when watching Dinah Shore and Pearl Bailey singing it .I hope you are going to put these duets on a cd for us ??
It's a real pity that you guys don't have anything in common otherwise you could really go places 🤣😂just love listening to you guys bring expertise into an already great song and make it fantastic. 😘
That was great! Hey - BTW - love the necklace Stephanie - is that Larimar? Can you help w/ a compare / contrast ragtime v stride? Is the baseline of stride the big differentiator? This question comes from a guy who still has the stickers on the keys and is cranking out the blues scale in C like nobody's bizness! LOL...love you guys.
Yes, it's larimar! 😊 In a nutshell, stride piano has more improvisation and swing. And yes, the left hand is a big differentiator because the intervals between the bass notes and the middle register chords are larger than in ragtime, and there's more chromaticism. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for your interest in our music!
This one in particular came together pretty quickly but other arrangements can take days or even weeks because we keep refining and revising them. Also, once we have the arrangement ready, we have to practice it! 😊 But in general it's hard to say how long each arrangement takes because we work on different arrangements at the same time...
You two are fantastic,I could watch and listen to you all day...................................................
Wow. The best part came when I thought it was over. ❤️ I miss the Love button.
Thanks so much! 😊

Paola: Hey Stephanie, wait til you hear my new arrangement.
Stephanie: Hold my beer, darling.

Stephanie plays Stride piano realy like the good old Fats Waller.
2:32 *Literally without missing a beat* in the middle of a *fast stride.*
