- An inbounds no save/load abuse segmented speedrun of Portal without jumping in the time of 8:50.100.
The run was completed by 8 runners in 192 segments in 1400 days (2019-11-10 - 2023-09-10)
This run follows rules as similar to "Jumpless, No SLA Unrestricted" as possible. Usage of save/load abuse, such as save glitch, save deletion, and new game, are therefore forbidden.

Cameras might be a little bit broken in Portal: My favorite part was probably Chamber 17 with the camera fly maintained throughout both orb corridors, that was awesome! GGs to all the runners and great job as always, it's clear that this took countless hours of effort.

If you pause the game while going through the portal and also standing on a prop, you’ll get a huge boost. I came up with that strat for the jumpless tas, it then got adopted by the segmented run.
why only segmented or TAS runs are featured on this channel?
originally, single segment runs were difficult to perform/record/accurately time (in the case of pc games especially, since loads can be very inconsistent and change the final real-time of a run a LOT)
a lot of speedrunning was based around individuals creating runs in multiple segments, source was no exception, but since saves and in-game demo recordings could easily be shared, projects like this with multiple people working on getting the best segments and making the best run possible became popular, and still are as a spectacle and proof of concept for what is theoretically the fastest a game can get, even though rta runs without loads are much more common
individual rta runners are still doing their thing on their own channels and leaderboards, the sourceruns community channel just serves as a place for these big projects to go since theyre still a big part of source speedrunning and they would get less traction when uploaded separately
