    Everyone should have a few meals and snacks on hand at all times. Spending a little time on meal prep will prevent you from eating the wrong foods. Take the time to do it; it will pay off.

    I feel like this is a great video for anybody. Coming from someone like me who doesn't track or weigh his food but rather eats a clean and well balanced diet, this just taught me exactly how I'd go about meal prepping and what kinds of food too. I workout for leanness and to stay in shape to look and feel good rather than size. Fitness is not my life, it's a part of it, and this video helps me out with that minor part of my life on top of everything else that matters to me. Even if one does not work out, a diet like this and knowing how to prepare it is beneficial for everyday life and wellness!

The stock makes a great breakfast and with the remainder "waste" can be used for composting, but be quick, it does draw pests. "waste not want not" :)

      Use an Instapot instead of a crockpot; massive game changer when it comes to cooking in bulk and meal prepping. I can cook 8 - 10lbs of frozen dark chicken in about 40 minutes; breast meat will work the same. I'll split them up into baggies and freeze them. Even 2 weeks later, about 60s in a microwave (take it out of the baggies!), the chicken is still super moist.

    • @xPinnkBarbiex
      @xPinnkBarbiex 8 лет назад +15

      If the chicken breast are thick pieces try cutting them in half or use a meat tenderizer mallet so you can minimize cooking time. If your chicken is dry then you're possibly overcooking it. Remember this is food you are going to store to reheat later in the week. Use a thermometer once it reaches 165F take it out and don't slice it until it's room temperature. If you care about flavor slice into pieces before you cook it.

    • @PhatBoyFitnessJourneyVlogs
      @PhatBoyFitnessJourneyVlogs 8 лет назад +2

      Michael, you can look up a Keto Calculator on google and you can get a good estimate. I personally use 60% fat in my macros. 1-1.2 g of protein per lean body mass and about 5% carbs Usually just keep them below 30 g Net. It really all depends on what you are doing and for you to find the right balance for you. A lot of people have a huge debate over protein as well. I really do not think you have to worry about protein intake unless you go over 3g per kg of body weight, lean, which can cause gluconeogenesis, but that amount has been debated. Personally I stick to around 1-1.2g of protein per lean body mass. I am in a cut though because I am fat & I do weekend refeeds/carb ups. I do what is called CKD, Cyclical Keto Diet.

      Snack: fruit and a yogurt
      Dinner: same as lunch, maybe switch it up here and there change starch from rice to potato or chicken to fish. Just keep it one protein one starch/carb and AT LEAST one full cup of veggies. I still struggle with drying out the chicken too (I usually cheat and use chicken thighs instead), but for flavor you could use a dry rub: Usually it is made up of just spices so you aren't adding any excess sugar, carbs, or fat. The one I linked below I love on pork tenderloin but I'm sure it would be good on chicken too, and you can find lots of dry rub recipes all over the internet:

    Did you add water to the crockpot or is that just chicken juice?

      I think that was added water during the processing of the chicken. Some suppliers add up to 15% water to the meat. look at the labels when you buy chicken. It's cheap because of the water.

      What fatand51 said is true, most of the water came off the chicken, it is pumped with a water & salt solution. The same is done to fish, got really mad when my supposed 2lbs of frozen fish weighed in at 14 oz after the water was drained. Assuming this guy started with roughly 9 lbs of chicken breast(he did trim quite a bit), which would have been 144 oz / 8oz servings = 18 servings) but he ended up with approx 4.5 lbs of chicken (8oz per container with 9 containers shown).

    Save the chicken scraps for stock.
