The food scale really is a game changer. I’m a months away from my 36birthday. Been working out since I was 12. Have seen decent results with Keto and not tracking anything, but just started tracking macros and can honestly say I which I had started sooner.
Question: Seems like after a few days in the fridge the rice would get stale or soggy, no? Idk, I always make my rice the long way. Maybe the microwave stuff is more preservable?
Remington James I'm commenting on the keto diet I figured you would reply quicker on this newer video, what should my macros look like? Right now I'm prolly around 3k to 3500 calories? How many calories should I consume on keto? I'm 5ft8 190ish 12bmi I'm trying to keep as much mass as possible. Any info would be great thanks! I start tomorrow
Michael, you can look up a Keto Calculator on google and you can get a good estimate. I personally use 60% fat in my macros. 1-1.2 g of protein per lean body mass and about 5% carbs Usually just keep them below 30 g Net. It really all depends on what you are doing and for you to find the right balance for you. A lot of people have a huge debate over protein as well. I really do not think you have to worry about protein intake unless you go over 3g per kg of body weight, lean, which can cause gluconeogenesis, but that amount has been debated. Personally I stick to around 1-1.2g of protein per lean body mass. I am in a cut though because I am fat & I do weekend refeeds/carb ups. I do what is called CKD, Cyclical Keto Diet.
I bake my sweet potatoes while roasting Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli. Saturday is food prep and house cleaning. I am feeding three adults with different schedules, so it gets hectic around here.

Ive always wanted to do these meal preps, but the thought of cooked food sitting in my fridge makes think of food poisioning. Doesnt ur cooked food spoil after 2 days?
Stud Muffin was wondering the same thing, saw in a comment above you that he did not add water and it was just the natural juices that came from the chicken, usually happens when you cook in bulk
It is actually proven that frozen vegetables can be a lot more healthier for you. I actually experimented this in a laboratory and frozen vegetables hold a lot more nutrients rather than fresh vegetables which are sprayed with preservatives soon as they are harvested.
What if you dont have a crock pot ? Can you use air fryer ? And how many meals a day do you eat . And at what times. I would love to start eating healthy but im having trouble figuring out how ti start.
U know u can just buy plain sweet potato poke holes in it and pop it in the microwave and cook it till soft some microwaves have a potato setting usually around 7-9 min.
Nea Rose Rodriguez its easiest to just make a weeks worth on a day off from work or school or whatever . Takes like 30-1 hour cook like 1-2'packages dose it out if u want
Breakfast: Green juice (blend of veggies), oatmeal, some fruit. Lunch: Chicken, broccoli, spinach, carrots, ect, and brown rice Snack: fruit and a yogurt Dinner: same as lunch, maybe switch it up here and there change starch from rice to potato or chicken to fish. Just keep it one protein one starch/carb and AT LEAST one full cup of veggies. For lunch and dinner. Boring? Yes, but hey when you’re trying to lose weight food is supposed to be used as a tool to help not used for fun.
Frozen fruits and vegetables are actually often FRESHER than the produce in grocery stores as the fruits and vegetables that are frozen are frozen at the peak of freshness. Where as grocery store produce sits on a shelf for a week at a time before anyone picks it up.
I’ve never really done meal prep because I barely had enough time to make one meal nevermind a week’s worth. Finally I have time to be a functional human being, so time to learn how to meal prep
Return your crockpot and get an Instapot; massive difference in post cook quality. You get rotisserie quality chicken from an Instapot in about 40 minutes for what it takes 4hrs in a crockpot/slow cooker.
What's your typical meals for the day when meal prepping? When do you eat those prepped meal? Do u eat 3 containers per day? I'm still trying to wrap my head about meal prepping ; still confused :( how u prep for breakfast and dinner as well? Or just lunch?
Nelson Charles depends on your plan! I make 5 lunches and 5 dinners - 200g of chicken per meal. Breakfast is just oats. I try to limit my carbs to 130g, fat below 40g and protein about 220g PER day
Nelson Charles I am currently focusing on weight loss, hence the low fat content! But, I'm staying at 220g protein/ day to maintain muscle mass, instead of losing! Use reddit.com/r/mealplansunday !!
meanwhile im focusing on lowering my body fat overall abit similar to weight loss goal., get leaner.. that's one of many great way to maintain muscle mass.. good luck bro!
Thank you for being a more real gym dude and making an entertaining video. I'm trying to get meal prep ideas I can make for my husband. 😄 I enjoyed the gains/not gains fridge tour lol
I can’t meal prep ! :( it comes out dry and tasteless. When I prep Chicken it comes out good but when I put everything in the fridge and Reheat it comes out dry. I do steamed brown rice and it’s tasteless, chicken dry and bleh, broccoli too. Is that how healthy food supposed to taste like? I been trying for years to meal prep. And is just dry and tasteless. Even with seasoning. Am I doing the chicken the wrong way, should I marinate it. ?
I still struggle with drying out the chicken too (I usually cheat and use chicken thighs instead), but for flavor you could use a dry rub: Usually it is made up of just spices so you aren't adding any excess sugar, carbs, or fat. The one I linked below I love on pork tenderloin but I'm sure it would be good on chicken too, and you can find lots of dry rub recipes all over the internet: www.foodandwine.com/recipes/spice-roasted-pork-tenderloin
They say washing spread germs but I just CANNNOT not wash it. Thats why I scrub the kitchen down in Clorox. I always think what if someone dropped this piece on the floor and didnt wash it. Idc how much they tell me "cooking kills bacteria" I'm washing it.
@@pinkroseyrose Bacteria is actually good for you. Being exposed to bad bacteria helps your body develop a stronger immune system to help prevent sickness and your body being attacked by bad bacteria in some places where you cannot help bad germs!
@@austinskillings4550 agreed. I know cooking does kill germs if done properly and it wont kill me..trust me I know lol i don't like soak meats or anything like that but I rinse chicken and things like hot dogs from the package it bothers me not to. Lol
I think that was added water during the processing of the chicken. Some suppliers add up to 15% water to the meat. look at the labels when you buy chicken. It's cheap because of the water.
What fatand51 said is true, most of the water came off the chicken, it is pumped with a water & salt solution. The same is done to fish, got really mad when my supposed 2lbs of frozen fish weighed in at 14 oz after the water was drained. Assuming this guy started with roughly 9 lbs of chicken breast(he did trim quite a bit), which would have been 144 oz / 8oz servings = 18 servings) but he ended up with approx 4.5 lbs of chicken (8oz per container with 9 containers shown).
Everyone should have a few meals and snacks on hand at all times. Spending a little time on meal prep will prevent you from eating the wrong foods. Take the time to do it; it will pay off.

Lalsangzuala Chenkual good luck and strive hard

Gabe Portillo not every mother will take it sportingly if you don't eat her food and prepare your own.. and if you go ahead and tell her it's because you wanna eat more healthy.. better duck.
The food scale really is a game changer. I’m a months away from my 36birthday. Been working out since I was 12. Have seen decent results with Keto and not tracking anything, but just started tracking macros and can honestly say I which I had started sooner.
Is everyone ignoring that he didnt even mix the damn chicken seasoning right
Hector Muniz I know right??!!! And when he was trimming the fat off he took parts of the meat omg
Lmao I had to come to the comments to make sure I wasnt buggin
I thought I was buggin lmaooo
Word I almost cried with all the chicken he cut off and the chicken on the bottom definitely didn’t get seasoned 😭
Did anybody notice he didn’t wash not one chicken breast?
Question: Seems like after a few days in the fridge the rice would get stale or soggy, no? Idk, I always make my rice the long way. Maybe the microwave stuff is more preservable?
Just ordered those prep containers off Amazon and can't wait to try the chicken in the crock pot method. Thanks for the tips Rem!!
“Chicken is so cheap I don’t really think it matters” - I immediately looked at the date and it made sense this was posted 6 years ago 😂😢😅
How does it feel to know Somebody's watching you while doing their cardio! Yes sir! 👌
***** oils, nuts, meats etc.
"Gains, gains, gains, ketchup!"
Thanks for the awesome tips and tricks!
After you cooked the chicken, there was liquid in the container. Did that come naturally or did you add something in there?
Remington James thank you sir.
Remington James well that's a rip off! lol
I help my son prep and use that liquid to make his rice gains.
Raditado yesssss same question, and did you drain off the liquid? Or shred the chicken in it and it re-absorb?

I bake my sweet potatoes while roasting Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli. Saturday is food prep and house cleaning. I am feeding three adults with different schedules, so it gets hectic around here.
I like my veggies as fresh as possible...
*Tosses the frozen beans...
Flash frozen at peak ripe
Thanks man, I’m a tattoo artist so my schedule stays tight but I just need an easy way to meal prep and practice getting some weight off while hitting the gym, thank you for a simple clean video
as a chef that seasoning skilled absolutely killed me. Good food typically get seasoned on both sides.
Just wanted to watch this video so I can compare how far you've come over the years.
The meal prep and grocery hauls you do nowadays are so much more rewarding and easier to maintain with a positive attitude.
Loving that anabolic diet.
I'm glad you make these kind of videos cause it makes it easy to see how people meal prep I've been starting to meal up myself and so far I've already lost 30 pounds
Do you put water in the crockpot? While cooking the chicken??
Wence Castellanos The chicken releases juice called chicken stock while cooking so you don't need to add water.
Duuude! Finally I get it. Thank you for explaining it. Great to see the actual meals laid out. So many RUclips videos about the same thing but you have a great knack for cutting the BS and getting to the facts. You have a new fan.
thank you, please continue to make beginner videos! My son and I are new to meal prep THANKS
You made this so understandable and simplified that I have subscribed! I am on my official 4th week of EVER meal prepping and working out and this video is going to be the foundation of part of my nutrition❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤
I'm a mom of 3 and dying so I need to get healthy. Thanks for helping.
Step 1 : Use a condom
So you’re dying bcz your fat?
goddamn, take the fucking time to write a comment that doesn't have us all going: aww nawww, her kids gonna be orphans. What you meant to say: I'm a mom of 3 and cooking everyday takes up a lot of my time. Thanks for helping with that! Ffs
CubingMitzi rude much
CubingMitzi 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you place liquid/broth into the crock pot when you cooked the chicken?
It makes it's own.
Ive always wanted to do these meal preps, but the thought of cooked food sitting in my fridge makes think of food poisioning. Doesnt ur cooked food spoil after 2 days?
I definitely need to start cooking my chicken in my crockpot that I’ve NEVER used before 😂 this would save me soooo much time.
Did he add water in crock pot?
@@garybowman497 No, no need to add water
same . as the vid ended i was looking for prices for them and 40euros for 2.5liter pot iant bad lmfao
nenaboricua1221 what’s the liquid in there?
@@wushuichiban chicken juice
So how long does the chicken last in the fridge? I’ve heard so many different opinions on this.
Cooked? I would recommend keeping it in the freezer. The texture of cooked chicken gets all rubbery and nasty after a couple of days in the fridge.
Did you add a bit of warter to the slow cooker?
Garlic, like 4 , bay leaves and add water , and onions and celery for flavor .
Pro tip- mix chicken with the seasoning or season individually so that you get an equal flavor
It all mixes around in the crock pot. If you were cooking these individually on a pan it definitely makes more sense to do that, though.
Microwave, and crock pot. Doesn't get any easier than that! Great video
Great video very helpful. Do you rinse your chicken b4 you start cooking it? What kind of snacks do you eat in between meals?
Classi Lady Nikk rinsing chicken splashes an harmful bacteria over a wide area, its not recommended
Cook to 165, the end, it really is that simple.
Did you add water to the crock pot? I didn't see you do it, but after it was cooked, it looked like water was added.
Stud Muffin was wondering the same thing, saw in a comment above you that he did not add water and it was just the natural juices that came from the chicken, usually happens when you cook in bulk
Great vid. Very thorough I'm trying to lose weight for the military and I need to change my diet. No more Wendy's for me.
when you meal prep how do you not get bored eating the same things the whole week?
you just gotta make foods you like, also knowing that it's progress toward a goal helps a lot
"I like my veggies as fresh as possible" *grabs bag of frozen vegetables*
Literally came to look to see if I was the only one who thought that
Such a muscle guy thing to say
It is actually proven that frozen vegetables can be a lot more healthier for you. I actually experimented this in a laboratory and frozen vegetables hold a lot more nutrients rather than fresh vegetables which are sprayed with preservatives soon as they are harvested.
What if you dont have a crock pot ? Can you use air fryer ? And how many meals a day do you eat . And at what times. I would love to start eating healthy but im having trouble figuring out how ti start.
You're the first person I see in my life that cuts chicken with scissors hahaha
Marko Polo true
They're scissors for cutting meat...
Sure, but usually people cut the meat differently lol
My bf cuts it like that as well and thought it was weird lol
I think it’s brilliant!!! I have been wonder what to do with kitchen shears and this is a perfect idea 😁
I'm so uncomfortable with the fact he didn't mix the seasoning with the chicken... I didn't even know that was something that would bother me 😂
lol. He probably mixes it when it comes time to eat it.
Eating for health isn't quite the same as eating for flavor
@@manofsan Yet it is possible to do both since most seasonings have amazing health benefits
Lol right
Hey girl in blonde jokes.
U know u can just buy plain sweet potato poke holes in it and pop it in the microwave and cook it till soft some microwaves have a potato setting usually around 7-9 min.
Chrys some microwaves have a popcorn setting that doesn't mean we use it for popcorn
You know it's best not to use a microwave, it turns the food too estrogenic.
Whats an alternative to crockpot?
''I can do whatever I want, within reason I'm not going to rob a bank''
Secretly telling us you wanna rob a bank ye
how big of a difference does it make to weigh food raw vs cooked?
Malik Booker measure it when cooked brother a lot easier. You can measure wile you place in containers
So do you eat this way once a day? Or just before/after a work out, but then eat breakfast and dinner in addition to this?
Nea Rose Rodriguez its easiest to just make a weeks worth on a day off from work or school or whatever . Takes like 30-1 hour cook like 1-2'packages dose it out if u want
Breakfast: Green juice (blend of veggies), oatmeal, some fruit.
Lunch: Chicken, broccoli, spinach, carrots, ect, and brown rice
Snack: fruit and a yogurt
Dinner: same as lunch, maybe switch it up here and there change starch from rice to potato or chicken to fish. Just keep it one protein one starch/carb and AT LEAST one full cup of veggies. For lunch and dinner. Boring? Yes, but hey when you’re trying to lose weight food is supposed to be used as a tool to help not used for fun.
YukioTheExorcist great ideaaaa😀😀
I like his attitude.
It's the right amount where I feel motivated but not annoyed by him.
Let's see if I can maintain this.
Thanks for the tips!
I'm confused on how you get 50 grams of protein from 8 oz of chicken cooked??
Isn't it closer to 9? That is how i have always done it based off all the myfitnesspal etc calculations
haha no of course not
1 oz of chicken breast meat averages 6.6 grams of protein, if you wanted to get fancy.
Jayce Cameron that food ..is just for 1 day, or?
No, its meal preparation. It's so that you don't have to cook all the time, it's pre-made.
I bloody died of laughter when you said "I can go do whatever I want- Within reason, I mean i'm not gonna go rob a bank."
I literally read this as he said it...
Remington James : “I like my veggies as fresh as possible”
Also him: “We have all these frozen steam bags. “
Finally I have time to be a functional human being, so time to learn how to meal prep
you inspired me!! I went out today and bought a crock pot to cook my chicken in!! hahaha!!
Return your crockpot and get an Instapot; massive difference in post cook quality. You get rotisserie quality chicken from an Instapot in about 40 minutes for what it takes 4hrs in a crockpot/slow cooker.
Thinking of doing the same. I usually buy thin sliced chicken breast so it cooks really fast in a pan.
damn thank you I've been needing a meal plan because I've going into junk food and healthy food and this is very helpful and this made me hungry
What's your typical meals for the day when meal prepping? When do you eat those prepped meal? Do u eat 3 containers per day? I'm still trying to wrap my head about meal prepping ; still confused :( how u prep for breakfast and dinner as well? Or just lunch?
humm, same confusion.. any answer?
Nelson Charles depends on your plan! I make 5 lunches and 5 dinners - 200g of chicken per meal. Breakfast is just oats. I try to limit my carbs to 130g, fat below 40g and protein about 220g PER day
Thank you so much man.. have you notice gains after using this cleaner methods? ill get mine sort out..
If you wrap up sweet potatoes you can put them in the Crock-Pot with your chicken or if you have two crock pot even better
Johnny J few drops of water and lower power level (@%70). Or reheat mode button
I still struggle with drying out the chicken too (I usually cheat and use chicken thighs instead), but for flavor you could use a dry rub: Usually it is made up of just spices so you aren't adding any excess sugar, carbs, or fat. The one I linked below I love on pork tenderloin but I'm sure it would be good on chicken too, and you can find lots of dry rub recipes all over the internet:
www.foodandwine.com/recipes/spice-roasted-pork-tenderloin
Throw some BBQ on your chicken and make some pulled pork.
This lockdown has closed all the lunch spots! Gotta make lunches for a little bit.
Still my favorite guide to follow after 4 years.
Who gave vanilla ice a RUclips channel?
Damn
CEO of RUclips After he cooks his chicken he’ll be cookin’ MCs like a pound of bacon.
I guess I’m the only one who wash my meat and mix my seasonings lol
They say washing spread germs but I just CANNNOT not wash it. Thats why I scrub the kitchen down in Clorox. I always think what if someone dropped this piece on the floor and didnt wash it. Idc how much they tell me "cooking kills bacteria" I'm washing it.
lolll same
@@pinkroseyrose Bacteria is actually good for you. Being exposed to bad bacteria helps your body develop a stronger immune system to help prevent sickness and your body being attacked by bad bacteria in some places where you cannot help bad germs!
@@pinkroseyrose It certainly WILL NOT KILL YOU. lol GERMS ARE GOOD for a stronger immune system.
@@austinskillings4550 agreed. I know cooking does kill germs if done properly and it wont kill me..trust me I know lol i don't like soak meats or anything like that but I rinse chicken and things like hot dogs from the package it bothers me not to. Lol
What kind of seasoning was that???? I know most of that chicken is flavorless.
Manm😭😭
The healthy kind.
@@daughterofyah6209 you can still season your food more and still be healthy
The value of this video is huge! Thank you
Did you add water to the crockpot or is that just chicken juice?
Jacob Medina that’s why I’d like to know
I think that was added water during the processing of the chicken.
My Man Rem, Thank you for your efforts. You are improving the world. Bless you brother.
Save the chicken scraps for stock.
