5 months ago I weighed 440 lbs. Had a messy breakup and decided to change myself. Today I weighed in at 310 lbs and have dedicated myself to taking the next step. Thank you for this video, I cant wait to prep meals over just not eating.

130 pounds in 5 months?! That's awesome, bordering on epic! Don't forget to let your diet evolve as you move toward your goal. As you keep dropping body fat, start transitioning your diet to focus more on muscle gain than fat loss. Keep going for a year or two and you'll be an absolute beast! Congrats!

Been over weight my whole life, I watched this video for the first time 1 month ago. I was very skeptical as I've tried "everything", 1 months later I went from 300 lb to 260 lb. My goal is 220 by the end of the year. I just wanted to thank you, because you helped me get my life back together. So for what it's worth thank you, and may you continue to grow and be blessed every day!

I know Remington is not really a chicken and broccoli guy anymore, but I think this is the BEST video to start with meal prep for a first timer like me. It's dead simple to follow, it focuses and simple, natural proteins, and creates a great mindset shift. If you can prep and eat this for a week, you will easily and willingly prep any of the newer anabolic recipes that Remington has published that are lot tastier. I dropped 4 lbs in one week with this meal prep. Big thanks to Remington for all his great content!

So now I am completing Week 25!!! I am down 60lbs! I went from a pants size 56 to 42, from a 6XL tshirt to a 4XL (can squeeze 3XL), and overall my health is MUCH IMPROVED!! I cut back on the carb/calorie intake since I am not gyming/weightlifting until mid-January. So I cut out the 430pm meal and the breakfast. I bought one of those Ninja Bullet things and I make my own breakfast smoothies. 1 Banana, 1 scoop creamy peanut butter, 1 scoop greek yogurt, 1 scoop rolled oats, 1 spoonful honey, and i use unsweetened almond milk. Every few days I mix it up with a handful of frozen blueberries or strawberries. I also changed up the dinner alittle and rotate between chicken salads, rice and ground turkey with 2 flour tortilla, and I added more veggies. Namely mushrooms, green and red peppers, and squash for variety. Also, once a week I eat tuna melts using Portabella caps instead of bread, and a veggie paste blend with eggs instead of mayo. I start Yoga classes at the start of February and Strength Training with Endurance and Powerlifting as my core next month. Im 6'4" and built like a mack truck, at my heaviest I was around 430lbs. Im about 370lbs now. My goal is 275lbs mean fighting machine. My weight in college playing football was 250ish. However I plan on having alot more muscle mass than then. Ive also started intermitten fasting, some days eating breakfast then fasting for 12hrs and having something light for dinner. I am still ONLY WATER. If I can do it, ANYONE can.

Here is the full grocery list from this video and a marinade I use to flavor the chicken:
    112 Oz of Chicken
    50 Oz of Brown Rice
    56 Oz of Flank/Skirt Steak
    Butter Flavored Cooking Spray
    42 Oz of Broccoli
    28 Oz of Potatoes
    Old Fashion Oatmeal
Simple Truth Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
    Protein Powder
    Cinnamon
    Unsalted Almonds
There is another comment that has the grocery list but it was missing a few things and the Broccoli amount was wrong, I hope this helps some people!
Also with this meal prep, because he barely flavors the chicken and i have taste buds, i like to marinate the chicken, here is the marinade i use
Greek Lemon Marinade: (This is for 1 pound of chicken, so because he used 7 pounds in the video multiply these ingredients by 7)
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 lemon, juiced
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 teaspoon oregano
    1/2 teaspoon basil
    Sprinkle of salt
    Freshly ground pepper
Also, another thing i do to make the steak taste better is use a SMALL amount of barbecue sauce while im eating it.
The Marinade and the BBQ Sauce makes both meals way more enjoyable then if you were to just eat them plain and allowed me to stick with this diet and lose weight!

Do not leave rice hot for 6 hours. Maximum of 2 only. Rice is one of the most high risk foods out there and one of the most dangerous for food poisoning. I would recommend to cook and cool immediately then ensuring it's piping hot when you reheat. Always try to keep it refrigerated once cooked.

So when I started dieting I used a different diet meal plan by Remington. In May I went from 306 to 285... So in June when I started thie meal plan I went from 285 to 275 in about a week and a half... I then noticed I had plataued at 275 to 273 for 2 weeks then I removed the last meal and rice I dropped down to 265. I believe I plateaued because I did this meal plan 7 days of the week and that I had already been losing weight from the previous month. I did not do any HIIT and do believe that someone who is starting to diet will lose 30 to 40 lbs at the beginning... I notice that for me I need to constantly change might diet either more protien and fiber or less. This will constantly keep me losing weight. Remingtons meal plans do work this is just simple when it comes to prep and ingriedents!

Pro tip: I like to add my protein powder with my oats when they are still dry and then mix in hot water so that everything cooks and mixes evenly.
Also, using hot water and pouring it in all your meal preps actually saves more time than microwaving each individual bit, plus less stirring and adjustments, and such.

I’ve stopped going to a gym for a few months, and never really paid attention to my nutritional intake.
This year I really wanna change and see results. So I’m gonna start this prep method Sunday(2/23/20), starting the following Monday. And yes I’ll be going harder in the gym! Wish me luck!
    (EDIT: 3/3/20)
Alright everyone, the week of that “diet” is over and here is my input.
I’ve been unhealthy for almost 10 months. Stopped going to the gym and I stopped watching what I ate. I mean, I’m not obese or anything but my shape had a significant change over the past few months. I’ve lost my muscle tone and gained some chub but not anything too crazy. I’m 5’9 started at 210lbs on this diet.
Not gonna go over all the days, just my experience haha:
Day one wasn’t easy. Switching from soda and juice straight to just water was painful haha. Oatmeal was good, the chicken was good, and the steak was good. (Yes they were “bland” but the coconut oil, spices and everything helped.) But these weren’t the junk foods and snacks that I was used to eating, so in the middle of the day I started to get some kind of “sweats”? I had to calm down and drink lots of water, which was weird so, idk maybe prepare yourself for something like that?
That only happened once, but thought it was something important to mention.
Anyways, I started to go to the gym again and I went harder. Low on cardio, was focusing on muscle gain and getting big. Arms, shoulders, chest etc.
Back then I would do 3 sets of 10 reps of anything I did. I would spend 15-30 mins in the gym.
But now, I knew I had to step it up. I added more workouts and I bumped my sets up to 4 and reps to 15-30. Spending almost 30-45 min in the gym.
I’m sore yes, but I feel good haha
The meals honestly didn’t get any better throughout the week. Eating bland foods was not fun, but I was very strict on those meals and water in take.
In conclusion, I suggest that everyone does this. It’s makes you feel good and it’s a really interesting journey to go through.
I went from 210 to 198 if that means anything to you! I just know that I feel good and I want to continue feeling this way.
You’re gonna have to want it if you actually wanna see results.
I’m gonna continue with this diet and routine, maybe switch it up sometimes but I’m gonna work very hard to be in shape.
    Thanks everyone, and good luck!

High, a lot of people asked about cost and while I know it changes in prices over time and is different in different areas I figured out my price for everyone as of December 2017. depending on your finding of deals and when, my cost = flank cost $3.00 a serving so about $21.00. Chicken is like $12, broccoli about $4.49, sweet potatoes $3.00, rice is about .10 cents an oz but for the box about $5.00, oatmeal about $5.00, almonds $4.00, coconut oil about .14 cents a serving so about $1.00 so about $10 for a 30 oz, Cinnamon $3, whey 8/$35 $4 a week, meal prep containers $30, soo about avg of $60 a week with the first week cost around $130-$140

    • @ItsZac_TV
      @ItsZac_TV 6 лет назад +6

so with there being about 21 meals through the weeks, the cost per meal is roughly $5? that's pretty dang cheap if you ask me. $10ish a meal for the first week. you would see your initial money back pretty quickly and your body will love you too lol

Yes, this is good for a beginner. It's good for shredding and staying lean, but if you're skinny you might have to eat more than this. My recommendations would be to eliminate the broccoli completely, because it's really just useless fiber that fucks with your digestion. Also, this diet is not very nutritious since it's very lean meats (micronutrients come from animal fat mostly), so I would get a fatter cut of steak instead of flank steak. Having some Salmon throughout the week would also be great in terms of vitamins.

Instead of a sweet breakfast option, I like to mix oat flour, egg and a touch of water until it's a thick batter. I like to put mine in a waffle iron, but a skillet works too. Top them with veggies and an egg, cheese, and a drizzle of Mexican hot sauce. You could sub avocado for the egg in the batter as well. There's still the slight, nutty sweetness from the grain, but it personally doesn't bother me.

Keep the chicken/beef trimmings, make an easy stock out of it! :)
Then use it for soups or maybe steaming your rice. Add some flavor!
And please, never forget to stabilize your cutting board with a wet cloth/paper..
Don't forget, spices are your best companion!!

Literally just finished this exact meal prep (minus one of the chicken meals cause I'm smaller and don't require as much food, yet). Luckily I've been eating pretty well for 3-4 weeks now and have lost 15 lbs, so I'm not going in cold turkey. I just finished my first chicken, broccoli, and brown rice meal. With that said, may the fitness gods have mercy on my soul. All prayers are welcome. This will be a true mental test. I'm taking it a week at a time. I'll check back in 7 days. Wish me luck and please pray I survive. Have a good day.

      @Andrew-ii8cg 6 лет назад +13

Very good! I've made some small changes to keep things interesting so I don't get tired of eating the exact same thing. I stick to lean meats, rice and potatoes as my main carb source, and a whole lot of veggies. I've lost another 15 lb or so since this post. Down from 205 to 173 this morning, abs starting to show. Been trying to implement intermittent fasting and cardio to get lower. Prolly try to get down to a solid 165 lbs in the next month. Dropping weight at this point is more difficult I noticed.

For truck drivers - I know someone who has a small fridge/freezer and slow cooker in their truck. He plugs his slow cooker into one of his power outlets on his dash, slow cooks his meat; steak, chicken, pork etc all day, puts in rice or potatoes, veggies 1/2 hr before its done. Sets up a chair/table and enjoys a healthy dinner everyday. He has been doing this for over 18 years.

I’ve been using this meal prep for a month now and weird enough, I’m not tired of it. In fact, quite enjoying how easy it is just to sit down and eat and not have to worry about what I’m going to eat and when. And the ease of prepping these few ingredients!
The breakfast is by far my favorite! I used the nubreed myoblast cinnamon toast flavor and it is amazing! Recently went with chocolate flavor from costco because it’s cheaper, and I miss the nubreed. Definitely suggest adding the coconut oil as it keeps the oats from drying up.
The chicken.. I’m not a fan of chicken in general. I typically douse it in hot sauce and it’s good. I tried marinating it once, and it was absolutely delicious! But I don’t think I will again just because of all the extra crap added (oil) and the expense ($20 of stuff).
Thank you very much sir for providing this free content to us! This is the most food I’ve ever eaten, and the quickest results I’ve ever experienced. I feel great and have so much time freed up not having to worry about what I’m going to eat!

Tips for me that made this easier to follow: marinate the chicken in something super low calorie. Another comment on here has a really good marinade that I did with lemon juice, olive oil, and a couple other things.
Put olive oil and some cinnamon on the sweet potatoes.
Don't cook the oats at first, put them in a container with all the stuff ready to go, then when you're ready to eat add some water, microwave, and mix. This last one might seem obvious but it wasn't to me, so don't make that same mistake. Also, mix it up with the oatmeal. You can put some cinnamon and apples in there, or some frozen blueberries.
