Nice. I just did the exact same job on a Carerra Vulcan pack at the weekend. Wish I'd found your video beforehand but I managed nonetheless. Whoever designed that bizarro 3-pin round connector with the screw thread needs horse-whipping!
Is the battery balancer onboard the battery, or is it in the charger? I'm trying to build an off grid dc-dc charger but the connector has three additional cables beyond the main + and -. Also what is the battery configuration? Is it 10S?
I have a problem with bms no output have you experience with that? I have placed another bms and the cells itself in working condition even have ridden for 20kms but new bms is 3rd party so can not see charging level on the lcd and want to fix bms. It has no visual problems but do you have experience in fixing that kind of bms or do you have one for sell?
Hi there pal I was hoping that you might help me out I watched your video with you changing the charger port which only had 2 wires on it my phylion 36v ebike battery pack has 3 wires how to change it iam doing it because I don't want to buy a another charger which cost £93 yeah don't think so chief hope you can help thanks pal
Tried by passing paying an arm and a leg for this battery charger, watching your video filled me with hope that I could get a charger an stick red wire in left and black in right, WRONG, opened battery up to find a yellow wire, sod this, I wired the battery charger across main plus and minus points and charged direct using battery charger red green light and will wire these points to a output jack :)
@@EbikeRepairsTrue, but used as a top up rather then for full charge has less risk as cells under less stress. They saw your video and stuck a hand shake wire on the 3rd pin so NO OTHER CHARGER can be used and so FORCING PEOPLE to PAY £100 for this one trick charger that offers no other benefit in use!
@@EbikeRepairs If this battery needs a hand shake wire, then the whole system maybe locked down to the BSM, looking around for a second hand charger, but cannot find which charger is for this battery, as your one has same connection but no hand shake wire, saw this charger Phylion Charger DZLM3620-M2 3pin E Bike Carrera has the 3rd wire called ID, £60, I would buy if I knew this was the charger!
Hi, could you possibly recommend a charger for this please? I’m told you need one that’s compatible with the battery. An help would be very much appreciated.
What is the yellow wire for that is unplugged. I am changing he charge port on mine but i am getting No Voltage reading at the 2 charge wires on the battery. Is the third yellow wire supposed to be connected to something to get the battery to charge?
@EbikeRepairs Yes it seems i needed a £85 charger with a 3rd pin. Using a cheap universal charger with 2 wires i couuldnt get it to charge. After opening the battery i noticed if the 3rd yellow wire for charging is connected onto P- the regular cheap charger recognises the battery and charges like normal. Even shuts off when fully charged. Might be a way to not have to stick to using the expensive brand chargers but i am still learning so I am not advising that method just sharing how i overcame charging a branded Brattery with a regular Amazon/Ebay charger

Thank you! Cheers!
Great information thank you

Excellent!

Unfortunately without changing BMS aswell you're a little stuck! Sorry

Unfortunately that bypassed BMS protection I believe so you're charging the battery directly - very likely not a safe thing to do!

I can't recommend it but you could just replace the whole BMS or add a second one just for charging then you can use a normal charger safely 👍

I'm pretty sure they aren't locked down, try it by disconnecting communication leads to the bike from the BMS I'm sure they're on a little plug 👍
Ты оторвал фишку с тремя проводами от платы . Они за что отвечают ? Для чего этот разьем ?
Sorry I can't translate, can you do English please?

Also very clear informative video, was very helpful!
Any generic 36v lithium charger with 2amp output would work fine after this mod buddy. Just eBay search that
@@alexandergreenfield91 thank you for responding! Top man.
exactly what alexander said - just don't get a ridiculously cheap one, sub £10 will likely be unsafe. Fan cooled, good reviews is an ideal way to go.
I can’t get mine to charge, green light but no charge, what variable power supply do you use?
There might be a problem inside the battery, I just use an adjustable PSU set to 42v 1a
@@EbikeRepairsI get three lights and top lights flashes when I turn it on, is there a doc or page where i can see what that means?
Unfortunately it's all a guessing game with these batteries, suntour won't share information
I am having a issue with this bike. Using a 3 pin charger but battery wont charge.
Probably a BMS problem or some bad cells...

Some of the newer batteries have a thermistor and do need a special charger with a third pin!
the yellow and brown wires go to the bike and can be used for communication with the controller, there. often unused on these bikes.

Can you tell me which wire to cut to derestrict the bike?
Unfortunately there isn't one for those bikes, sorry

Hi have you got a wiring diagram for ECU carrera 2020 ebike
Sorry nobody has one, its a Halfords and and Suntour thing.
i wish you would remove your rings when dealing with electricity.
They're ceramic
@@EbikeRepairs fair play then mate, i have seen what happens when a silver ring contacts. not pretty.
same! thanks though :)
