Not sure where you live, here in Texas we have lakes and huge ponds are that stocked like no other. I was just out in Lake Lewisville near The Colony and I was catching bass nearly every cast I threw like Roland.
You gotta find the right place where they are schooled.

Roland Martin taught me to fish(via his youtube videos) with a Texas rigged yamamoto senko (297 Green Pumpkin) on a 04 EWG hook and My fishing has never been the same. I have caught more bass since I found his videos during covid then I had in my entire life (44 years old in 2020). I catch tons of bass on mono line and often on braided line. a key factor that I also learned from Roland Martin is that you need braid when your fishing areas where fish will get into plants and grass etc as you reel them in. In those conditions your mono might break if your bass gets into a bunch of grass etc.

Pretty hard to argue against Rolands view of the 297 senko when he catches over 20 pounds of fish in one spot on the bank and makes a cast to the same area on the pond.

Roland thanks to you I have improved my fishing techniques! In my country Argentina we do not have sea bass but there is a species of fish called tarariras, it is very similar to a snake head that uses lures and very similar techniques with the difference that the tararira has teeth and we use a larger diameter steel or flurocarbon Leader. I really love when he does bank fishing!

    • @matt6951

He is catching largemouth bass, not to be confused with sea bass. But they are predatory fish none the less, so I’m sure the same techniques would work.

i like the 5 inch also. though i think the bigger gets bigger fish.. the 5 is like perfect for catching 2lbs and up.. i use 4s also but then the fish are usually under 2lb. if i do 6 inch or more.. then a lot less bites. what hooks were you using? the bad thing in cali.. at least here at this pressured spot i never found a school from the banks that i can catch many fish.. and its super rare for me to even catch 5 from the banks in one 3-4 hour session. i would say the average even with senko.. is 1 fish every couple hours.. but at this pressured lake i would say that is still good.. because many skunk here trying everything in the books.. the drawback of dropshot and senkos though.. its the slow way to fish.. but if you arent catching its the best ways to go.
