    I just returned a rental V6 Charger GT and i loved it. Man it looked sweet and for a V6, i must say it has plenty of go . The V6 back in the day are nothing to the ones the manufacturers are coming out with now. They put out as much as the late 90s early 00s V8s did.

      Exactly. So if you’re not the type to be knee deep in the racing scene it just don’t make sense to by a V8. 20-30k more for low gas mileage and an exhaust note. I have a brand new one and most ppl call it a hellcat just to show you how outta touch the general public is.

    Muscle car heritage is all about V8 power...but at the end of the day, it's about power and performance.
    A V6 will never have the girthy growl of a V8, but it's absolutely capable of big power, and it saves weight.
    So from a performance point of view...don't overlook a capable 6 cylinder!

    • @shawndon7374
      @shawndon7374 Год назад +2

      Your intake is only an upgrade if it's a legit cold air intake with the intake far from the engine or covered off to get cool air. If you have one of those $200 intakes from the internet your actually losing a lot of low end torque. Which is the last thing you want since v6s don't make alot of torque to begin with.

    • @shawndon7374
      @shawndon7374 Год назад

    Ive been messing with the idea of a twin twin turbo V6 Challenger with a 6-speed manual swap that are found in the Wranglers.
    Since the Pentastar is smaller. Not only does it weigh less, but it can fit most of its weight behind the front axle (which the aftermarket does make poly bushings to push both the Pentastar and Hemi further back.)
    Using the weight saving tricks from Scavenger1320, i estimate a rough weight reduction to 3300-3400 lbs. While still being heavy, it definitely sounds like a fun time seeing a big boat taking corners (im in it for the comedy.)

    • @invalidusername_5101
      @invalidusername_5101 Год назад

      3300 isn't heavy ...

    • @DJAizakku
      @DJAizakku Год назад

      @invalidusername_5101 depends on where you're standing. For example, the most comparable to this idea is the Bentley Continental GT3 racecar, not only being the biggest car homologated for the class, but also known to be on the heavy side at 2866 lbs... and that's a racecar equipped with a roll cage and all the safety equipment required.
      In the road car side of things, the mk4 Supra with the turbo version is also criticized for its weight at 3400-3500 lbs depending on options, and that's with a full interior.
      But for a Challenger, 3300 lbs is indeed light compared to what we're used to.

    Speaking from a money standpoint it just makes no logical sense they stop making Hemis. Like it jsut doesnt, these things damn near fly off the shelves. so. I lowkey believe, they're using this to sell a bunch last minute, before coming out with a completely redesigned HEMI and being like "gotcha" or soemthing

    The direction dodge needs to go is making a big ass dohc v8 on boost 🤣. This way they can last a few more years and beat the shit out of the gen 4 coyote as it should be. But they won’t.

    I think that dodge never really tried with the pentestar because on paper it was right behind the 5.7 300hp vs 370hp
    I bet you could easily get one to 350hp NA

    Do all this ev and inline 6 crap is like reliving the era of the 80s in which most muscle cars of that era were crap box on wheels andn only a few standout which were the firebird, Camaro, the stang and the GNX.
    They have to find another company just like you stated or build an entire different v8 like a hybrid or hydrogen v8 to bring back that hard core audience. We are not trying to go back to the boring wanna be failed jdms Dodge era from the 90s to early 2k, we want the natural muscle sound and power back.

      @@melvyn1798 you can crawl with a older v8 like a new edge or 3valve but instead I see ppl in 2021 and up ecoboost mustang Camaros and v6 challenger/chargers .the gas you would spend on the v8 wouldn’t even come close to what they paid for their newer ecoboost/v6 annually.
