One good tip to add for sound: always record a few minutes of "room tone". This is simply the ambient sound of where you are and will allow you to make smooth edits in your sound as it will provide a continuous consistency sound.
"go get my Red" powerful statement

I was about to say the same thing

It's so badass that i made a wallpaper for it lol

Currently making it into a meme lol
Dude, honestly, you're the only person shows this kind of tutorial that answers all my questions from audio & camera set up in 16 minutes. So much appreciate, man. My respect to you. from Philippines :)
"Go get my red" Dang man casual and powerplay at once 👏😍
I would imagine your courses are amazing. I've been producing for over 35 years. What I love about your videos is how rapid they are and how many samples you have when you speak of something. I know it's a lot of work and thought process. For me it's like a refresher of what I already know. I would imagine newbys want to stop the video to absorb the information. You can never stop learning. Thank you 8-)
That audio guy hair made me subscribe 😂
Perfect!

You watch all ceremony videos🙈🙈🙈
11:23 you know its serious when he says "go grab the red"
Dude these videos are so good. So good bro.
See previous on the bro-ing.
Just shot two weddings a couple weeks ago and used a ton of stuff from you. I've been trying to keep my colors a lot more clean like yours as well. Thanks Parker.
"...He is a lot better in audio than i am..." Humble guy, respect man.
I have yet to shoot a wedding, but if I ever do, I will definitely use these tips!
Watching your FTF videos from your course has been one of the highlights of my year so far. I got this course for my birthday last year and it’s been a great gift to learn so much more about filmmaking than I already knew.
Watching these videos makes me so jealous. Seeing the gear and having clients....it's a struggle in such a over-polluted market.
I know and also to have a crew like that. I am all by myself trying to get dress shots and then run off to set up for ceremony. They have to charge a bundle though for all that man power and a equipment.
Parker is one amazing dude.... I see a future for him (later in life) teaching at college. He's got the talent for it, which not everyone has. Great job Parker!
I'm loving your content! I'm just getting back into video after many years...things have changed a lot. Your course seems like a no brainer. Even for a someone who made a full time business of video back in the SD era.
Your demonstration is world classic, you are a classic example of excellency
Your videos are on another level…you are a gem I found on this youtube treasure hunt.
Thanks for Filmmaker's Guide to Audio reference. Also liked the way you plugged it (a lesson in itself). Overall impressed with your references. CineChopper, AudioGuy, and Grumbo. Wow!
Nice!! I was filming in a big Catholic church, inside the church looks wonderful... but I think is harder because of ligthing.
Very generous for this man to share his hard work. Wedding coming this Saturday to shoot. This was a great video training to attend!
@ParkerWalbeck Compliments. You understand perfectly that you love your work from the wonderful quality of your images !!! Sensitivity to human aspects brings great results! When you were working with Devin, you knew perfectly when you were behind the camcorder !!! Very beautiful the celebration of the great Quentin Tarantino !!!! Thank you, you are really a great !!!

😱😱😀😂
Great Job bro...
Really cool that you offer all this inside information. I like the way you break it down. Thanks
You are the Don when it comes to instructional vids!
Awesome man!!!! I have a wedding coming up. I have two cameras. About to get a third and a few lav mis. You're tutorial is AWESOME!!!
Hello Parker!Im aspiring FilmMaker,im very impressed with your work,a lot of learnings i've got.
Lucas from SLOVAKIA! Great work dude :)
You are the best. No doubt. I wish someday i could afford this course, looks like all that I ever wanted. Keep it up with the good work! Every video is just perfectly done, thanks for that!
DAT SMIRK when he said "Go grab the RED" LMAOOO #same 11:21
My little sister's wedding is on December and she wants me to take pictures for her. As an older brother I wanna capture her moments and make it the best for her. These are really good tips for beginners like me, Thanks :)
Jay Bee to be fair if you want to be a good brother you'd better hire a talented photographer and let him/her do the job.. As much love and care you'd put into this it's not gonna be good, it's a real job that need practice, knowledge and experience, trust me am saying this for your sister's sake
Jay Bee Good luck. Photography is very hard, I would recommend being a second shooter before shooting weddings solo, but if you are doing videography, just practice a lot beforehand, make sure you have a good video camera for low light with a good microphobe for quality sound and good luck!
I'm a full-time filmmaker it was probably one of the best investment I've ever made
He has some amazing content on his website definitely worth it if you're looking into it
Thanks for everything you're doing Parker
I've filled some weddings and they are hard! Good for you! 👍💪
Wow getting smooth on a 70mm thats awesome
Parker good as hell but the film poets and Kraig Adams are the guys that make it look a lot simpler. Good content
Man I have so much to learn lol. Love the BTS video for beginners like myself. I use a glide cam with a fixed 24 lens but drool over your tighter shots when you can adjust from 24 to 70 and adjust your glidecam I seconds. I should get a lens like that... but learning to adjust the glidecam while on the clock in a ceremony would stress me out haha.
Love the Office mug
This quality :O
I need YOU at my wedding in germany! maybe in 2 years.
Quick question. How long do your weddings usually come out to in the final edit/product? Weddings I've shot and edited in the past have ran 30, sometimes even 40 minutes for a final run time. Most of the wedding videography I've seen in recent times however (such as wedding videography produced by you) come out anywhere from 5, sometimes 15 minutes in runtime max. Just looking for a professional opinion.
You are well organised and the coordination is very good, quality is on point... Good work 👍 ... Professional service
I've shot 10 years as a still shooter and I contract video guys to work with me. Overall this video is really good. The one thing I might change is to skip the wireless mic. The lav is correct (and that placement is genius) but just use a tascam dr-10 or similar device to record into the groom's jacket. Out in the boonies it's cool, but downtown in Chicago those wireless signals are jammed like crazy. Nothing but issues with wireless mics in urban areas. Wireless lav presents a serious risk of the lav audio recording being lost with no advantage. The dr-10 also records at two gains (volumes) to avoid missing important audio. Way less pressure on the lav audio source if the ceremony is miced like this, but more and more I'm seeing ceremonies go unplugged so pressure is on the lav to provide audio.
Question about filming weddings: how do you deal with hecklers/upset family and friends at the wedding who are angry about you filming or "getting in the way"?
They couple pay you for the video, tell the angry people to talk to them.
Well done man! Love your tips, even as a full-time filmmaker It's nice to see other folks workflow.
Come and Take a wedding shoot in India..
So many Specialities in Indian weddings..
You surprised every time in the shoot with colors, Makeovers, wedding stage settings...
so do you ALWAYS shoot 60fps at a wedding? I know a lot of wedding films often use slow motion in a good majority of their shots but I also know that you should necessarily be compressing 60fps footage to 24fps for normal speed shots. people tell me record 24 when you know you want no slo mo but tbh I never know what moments exactly I want in slow mo and normal speed
TWHD. Then why not record 60 and in post, you can use slomo and compress the none slomo to 24
killer konsti well thats what I do the majority of the time but I'm being told that I shouldn't be doing that and that compressing the 60 to 24 isn't good. honestly though I can't tell any difference in quality so I'll probably just keep doing it
TWHD. Playing back higher frame rates like 50, 60, or 120 is typically fine to playback at 24 or 23.9
What you don't want to do is change your sequence to a higher frame rate.
If your sequence is set to 60fps and your footage is at 24, you will experience choppyness and repeated frames
It's more of a technical issue. If you shoot your entire project at 60 fps, but your base project is say, 24 fps, then you will be losing frames because 60 divided by 24 isn't an even number. The footage can come off a tad bit choppy. Some may not think twice about it visually, but there is a reason why the higher end camera's offer a wide amount of frame rates (24, 30, 48, 60, 120 etc.)
On a creative aspect, framerates that are higher than the base are used for slow-mo's or speed up techniques vice versa.
Lastly higher framerates require a bit more processing power when the base framerate is changed.
According to Parker, shoot 60 fps for any shots of the bride and groom kissing, hugging, them hugging their families, basically any shot besides when you get footage of a person talking that will be used in the final product. When someone’s talking, as in like the minister or the best man or maid of honor, that’s when you go for 24 fps.
I am thinking of gifting a wedding film to my sister as a gift. This was really helpful
I've done a few weddings and found that the hardest part to get used to was finding your place and being comfortable moving around. It feels so awkward to be out there in front of everyone during the ceremony and I usually try to stay out of the way as much as possible.
@11:24... "Go grab the Red" LOL.
Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for taking the time. Your're a smooth operator. 😎😎
I learn a lot from you. You are just an amazing videographer
Great video Parker, I really enjoyed it. Would you consider uploading a job shadow of filming a wedding reception as well?
@Parker Walbeck. Great footage, but it seems really intrusive considering the ceremony. I'm sure you had discussions with the wedding party prior to the event. What were their thoughts on that? Great work, and great tutorial.
Hey Jeremy,
Im actually the groom from the video so I thought I would respond real quick. There was nothing about the experience that felt in any way intrusive and there was no need for much discussion prior to. In fact, we were so caught up in the actual moment that we didn't even notice they were anywhere around us! Parker creates the most awesome wedding videos I have ever seen and his process is necessary for the results. We were very fortunate to have him there. Being able to relive that moment and share it in such detail is not something many people have the option of! Long story short, nothing felt intrusive and we would not have had it any other way :)
That was his job you idiot. Thats what he was there for.
Colton Sandoval Thanks for the reply, Colton. That's great to hear from your side of the project. Definetly makes me feel a lot better regarding taking care of the client. Congratulations on the marriage! Been there, man. I remember those jitters I'm glad you guys ended up with with the wonderful video to remember the day. Parker really does great work.
I know exactly what you mean. I was thinking the same thing. Good to see the groom's perspective BUT if I were a guest I wouldve been annoyed seeing these guys swooping in the middle of the ceremony.
Granted I could appreciate the kinds imagery being created, but from a guest's standpoint I would have been distracted which in turn would pull me away from the entire ceremony altogether.
These are beautiful videos no doubt but very intrusive in my opinion.
Parker Walbeck Canon's do have a nice silent mode :)
Awesome man! Very practical!
Thank you for your wonderful and educational videos! for now i need to improve in my shot
Inspirational, educational, entertaining and awesome - as always :) Thanks for sharing!
Great stuff Parker! Really enjoyed it
Amazing. Also, THANK YOU for stressing audio and going over it a lil
Weddings... it's a bling thing. Great video, thanks.
hey parker, i would love to see your raw footage vs graded footage, not a color grading tutorial but just a before and after of both.
Would really love to see a more indepth video showing the syncing process in PP. That timeline scared the shit outta me!
Could you make a video going in depth about filming wedding receptions?
from India 🇮🇳 big fan of your videos thanks man for making video of glidecam uses
This is next level. Amazing work Parker
The hair toss was epic.

I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT MAN, THAAAAAANK YOU BROTHER
You are the only one fan of mine, you inspired me a lot. Can you tell me how to get clear sounds what should I use
This will help me a lot just bought s canon 70d and soon to buy a glide cam.
Parker your last videos were very informative, thank you so much
For reference, how much would you charge for a wedding like that? You do amazing work, but it seems like a lot of time/expenses. Clients in my market are very cheap.
wow 1dx for wedding video! you must have strong arms

Excellent Video, Thank You So Much....Ton of tips....Bravo
@Go Grab The Red”-Parker Walbeck Classic Line, put that on a T-Shirt!!!

Hey I'm from India and i love you work..
Well play
great vid! i love your tutorials! keep it up!
Seems like you do pretty much the post production as well as camera man. Is that common and how did you learn how to edit was it through education or are you self taught. Your work is amazing man
Jackson Halm Parker learned a lot from Devinsupertramp when he worked with him, but also self taught. Check out fulltimefilmmaker.com and watch the video 👊
Go, grab the red... it's the same with "Go get the bazooka!" :)
If you don't do much color grading then what camera profile is best to shoot in? Thank you for your wonderful and educational videos!
Your the man. Thanks for the good work and all the tips!
Great tuts man thank you.
Hey Parker, always love you job shadows, thanks for sharing! Would love a tutorial showing your process editing the 4k60 footage from the 1dx ii. I shoot on the same camera but my computer struggles with the footage. Do you just dump the clips into your timeline or build proxies?
Incredibly helpful!
How much time do you have/take to have the full video ready to give to the client?
Nice Video.. By the way, sir can you please let us how you are doing the focusing?? Because you are holding the glidecam in both the hands.. Totally confused!
Parker... This was fire.... FFIIIIRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE
They really know what they're doing 👍
I just found your channel and your videos are so good! Keep them coming :) Brendan makes me laugh..I don't even know why maybe it's because he reminds me of Jack Black
