    That still didn't explain what exactly the numbers are representing and also doesn't show how you can measure all those different things he mentioned. Also doesn't get into terms of physics, where power would be something like work over time, while work would be something like force over distance.

      Well, it kinda felt at the start like he was just giving an advertiser's speel about the thing. Meant more to make it look good without overloading potential buyers with info that some of them (not me, and apparently not you) would find boring.

    This is done using tensiometers, it can register peak power applied. The problem with it is usually non-linear readout, so scaling it to real Newtons, and so on is tricky. To get exact numbers you would need to hit a solid object, like 10kg, and than calculate everything. Using a sponge would give different readout after too many kicks.

    Wow, even without hip rotation the power level of Aaron's turning kick is OVER 9000!!!

    it was not clear for me... in which unit is the meassuring? (pleeease do more videos testing different techniques!!!)

  • @edrichlouw1790
    @edrichlouw1790 7 лет назад +2

    So I saw a lot of hate because of the units used, mostly because its not in something we know like newton or so on. Just remember that that still doesn't mean much. You can apply 50 newton of force but that doesn't indicate if it was immediate or just pushing it until the meter read it. The point of impact and the area the force works on also have a huge impact on how much damage can be inflicted ,as well as the density of the object and time in contact. The way the machine measures just gives you an indication on weather you are getting better at punching or kicking and it also lets you compare it to what others can achieve.

    could you make some videos on itf poomsae? I practice wtf poomsae, I know all basic color belts and up to 3rd Dan black belt. I was wondering about the difference between itf and wtf, as well as the system of what belts do what poomsae in itf.

      With all respect , but i not consider the forms to be something useful or that can have application either in streer or in a competition.It just only an aesthetic and organized path with techniches that are difficult to do with in a full resistance scenario with another opponent.

      Here in Brazil I've come across a notable variety of martial arts. From Capoeira as a kid to ITF taekwondo, passing through English boxing, muay thai, aikido, and worldly famous Brazilian own style of jiu-jitsu. Every style counts when facing true danger on a street fight, and all of them have their weakness onto it, I assure you. Jiu-jitsu for example is useless when facing multiples opponents. From ITF Taekwondo I've gained agility and flexibility, which gifted me with powerful spinning kicks of every sort; and even more important than that is that it also granted me control. Trust me, if you know where your fist, your foot, your knee, your elbow, or even your own head will land after every strike you give or take in a fight, that provides advantage on what should be your next move on it. So, for sure, it is effective!
