    Thanks! This is awesome. It's the best drill video for the Dink Master I've seen. I have ways to go to get to what you are able to do but I'm 100% convinced that doing the drills you've recommended here will help me tremendously. Please continue to make vides on solo drills. I know so many people who do not have a drill partners and could benefit from this.

    Great video. I don't have a Dink Master, but I got a hard board and taped a line at 3ft (net) and 4ft (shoulder height line on Dink Master). Now I practice in my basement with it. I was doing dinks and volley punches, but you gave me some great new drills to add as well.
    Thanks for the great content Davis!

    How far from the board should we be standing? I would assume 7 feet since that's where the kitchen line is. But judging from the board size, seems you are only 5-6 feet away.
    edit: should have watched until the end.
    Answer: 5 for Volleys, 6 for Dinks, 7 for Speedups.

    • @nn-NeuralNetwork

      @@CindyHill-Cloydhe’s much closer than 7 feet. The wall doesn’t give the ball much speed so I’m assuming he stands closer for more optimal rebounds.

    • @svenop

      To stand further away, and think you should, you just push the top of the board back away from you to give it an angle that pops the ball upwards as it returns. I'd rather drill at true kitchen distance

    • @emenemes5678

    Thanks Davis I built a wall that was 12 Ft long. I would raise my garage door and put it in place then bring the door down on it to make it very solid. My wall allows 2 players and we can also simulate cross court dink's. The wall absolutely helps your game. It was a great video. Thanks Rick

      @@edjupickleball It works awesome. we stand about 8 to 10 ft apart and we aim towards the center of the board. If you just hit center you do not have to move. But if you hit any thing other than center the second player has to start doing foot work to return the ball. It makes dinking on the wall like a real game.

    Amazon pickleball training pad is about $30. It is a parachute material dink master that you can mount to the wall. Same look as dink master but just use your wall. Mine is 4 x 5 feet. I have thought about mounting it on plywood so I don’t have to worry about damaging my wall.

    I got the Dink Master yesterday, because of your videos! I set it up inside ma garage, I have tape at 7 feet from the board, can you tell me the reason you are ever stepping closer than 7 feet? is it just to increase the speed of the return bounce so you have less time to prepare ? I just dont want to have negative training by being to close and hitting the net IRL. Also have you experimented with the lean angle of the board? Thanks for the inspiration! If you have any other drills please put them out there !

    • @edjupickleball
      @edjupickleball  Год назад +3

      Thats awesome! Closer to the wall = increased speed in which you need to be ready for the next ball. Makes it harder and mimics when your opponent hits faster balls. It wont be negative training.

    I've been eyeing the dinkmaster for a while but just can't afford one right now. I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment and hitting balls against the wall/floor is just too noisy for my neighbors--no where really outside to do wall drills either. Do you have any suggestions for practicing at home? I've been thinking about trying to hit against a baseball/softball type ball rebounder, but not sure if that would have a similar effect as the dinkmaster. What do you think?

      The board is a dense particle board versus plywood. It is very well made and weighs over 50 pounds. Also has wheels you can use to move around or lock in place. You could build it yourself though.

    • @CyberSonic157
      @CyberSonic157 10 месяцев назад

    • @robertdavis6447

      I don’t think the ball would bounce well off plywood. I think it has to be a pretty dense piece of wood, concrete, drywall, etc. I think you could buy a 3x4 piece of particle board an inch thick from Home Depot or similar.
