    I’m afraid that the big picture is that Stalantis doesn’t want Mopar to survive

    • @DJ2226
      @DJ2226 2 месяца назад

      I don't think they are intentionally trying to kill Mopar and CDJR. It's just that they have bigger fish to fry with their European companies ad regulations. I'd have to look at the figures to see exactly how the companies compare internally in terms of revenue, but I'm fairly certain that companies like Fiat and Peugeot blow Dodge and the others out of the water in sales. There have been WAY more Fiats rebadged into Dodge and Jeep products than the other way around. I think those companies are more profitable at the end of the day, and that's where they are focused. They also see what's coming as far as where emission standards in the US and EU. Depending on how far they are pushed it won't make economic sense for them to keep making cars like the Charger or 300 without the EPA hammering them with fines even with smaller engines. This is a big reason why they are running as fast as they can from Hemi production and probably will do the same with the Pentastar. Even if Mopar and CDJR were to be partially broken away from Stellantis in a way that gives them some level of autonomy so Stellantis isn't calling every shot, they'll likely still go down the path they are headed towards when those regs hit.

      @@PassportBrosBusinessClass Based on that logic, it should have gotten canned in the 1980s... so you wouldn't have had your precious Gen III hemi marketing pitch to clutch you pearls to. FYI the 5.7 was in the trucks first so, youre welcome. Plus all they did with that one block is bore and stoke it to give you the BS numbers for "marketing" the 392 was just a stroked 5.7. Everyone was too busy humping the Gen II/III Hemi to realize dodge made the Slant-6 and the Magnums. Nobody wants a big 426 street Hemi anymore, they cant even drive the tiny 345ci (5.7) without crashing...

    • @DJ2226
      @DJ2226 2 месяца назад

      @@NXT_LVL You're like the first person I've seen acknowledge the old Magnum engines and where the Hemi was initially used. Those old engines and the Slant 6 were bulletproof. Dodge also had an I6 Hemi that they sold in Australia, which was pretty solid. Trucks are really where that engine belongs, IMO. However, while you're right about Dodge, the company has built so much of its marketing and fan base around the Hemi and V8s in general that this will genuinely hurt them in the long term. They do need a V8, but it's about time they took a page out of Ford's playbook and build a 5.0L one based on the Pentastar or maybe a 4.0L one based on the Hurricane or something. They need a newer architecture to work with.

    I'm so done with Stalantis/Dodge/ Chrysler/Jeep... I was biding my time to buy a challenger which I love.
    But this entity's antics have completely turned me off both from the manufacturer and the dealerships.
    I have always said that greed cannot sustain itself. The bottom ALWAYS falls out eventually regardless of
    the business genre. It can last for a good stretch but it's just a matter of time before a major collapse occurs.
    Another thing I've said is that you cannot TELL people what they are going to drive. Dodge killing the V8
    program when they did and the way they did, trying to force folks into EV'S was a HUGE mistake. So as
    much as I love Dodge performance products, it's looking more and more like a Dark Horse day for me.
    As always, great content, OCM.

    This concept of Chrysler's Halcyon, is similar to Dodge's concept reveal of the SRT Banshee 2 years ago. It will probably be a car designed off of Stellantis's (STLA) platform similar to the new charger. More likely, the final pre-production version will be reveled 6-9 months from now. I though that Chrysler would have had a pre-production model ready to reveal at this announcement, but its sad they don't.

Where I live in central NJ there's 5 new Lexus IS 500's for sale in a 90 mile radius. Each around 70k with no markups and a beautiful 5.0 V8. Well I totally agree with you that this was nothing but a distraction from the pure fact that Dodge is no longer a performance car company now. They needed to have had a hybrid or EV (hate em) like Ford and Chevy did to offset the carbon tax credit issue. They did not. So now they have entered the realm of SUCK and there is nothing until MAYBE next year. Regarding how to fix it they needed to go back to the drawing board and come up with alternative to EV tech that is appealing. I have yet to see a Hornet on the road and would not own one. I can't wait to see what Dodge brings to Chrysler at Carlisle this year....it should be hilarious if nothing else....

      The Jeeps and Rams aren't selling with the high prices, and Ram is about to drop the Hemi for the 2025 model year. The V8 is a MAJOR selling point of the 1500, so when they hit the market and people see that there's a 3L I6 in its place that's going to be a turn off. Twin turbos is not something I want to deal with, and if the engine starts burning oil for some reason you're forced to rely on a sensor. There's no dipstick, so it's not particularly easy to check the oil levels or look for contamination with these engines. I have a 2014 right now that belong to my grandfather, and if something ever happens to it I'd probably go for a 2024 even if it's used before I go with the 2025 and lose that Hemi. It's not just about sound with me, I trust them WAY more than these new I6s. They should have at least given them as an option first before transitioning over completely. I'll have to look and see what they plan on doing with the Classic, but if they continue producing it into the 2025 model year with the 5.7 something tells me it will explode in popularity for those still looking for a new Ram with a V8.

Forget the Mopar muscle car market, they are destroying any chance of presenting any quality and desirable vehicles, let alone affordable that can keep CDJR afloat. Did they just throw Tim Kuniskis in the basement and throw away the key? What has happened here is mind boggling and flat out disheartening. How can you abandon the customers that love and buy your products that made you the Brotherhood of Muscle? End of an icon, and for the rank and file Mopar enthusiasts and loyal customers, flat out wrong and unacceptable.

Stop believing the lies and do your research and see past the propaganda. EV’s have their place but they’re not the future everyone thinks they are. Also, cars aren’t going to look like space ships either. 🤣 Watch this and start digging. We’re being sold one of the biggest lies in history right now.

      @ocmotivator It doesn't matter, that's the way cars are going. If you notice all the high-end Futuristic looking concept vehicles are some variation of this. And yes, of course, vehicle sales of any kind or down and not surprised. We're basically living in a serious recession at the very least.

      @ocmotivator It's just a futuristic concept They're never gonna make this. It's just like those 80s concepts that That looked cool but were really just a test bed to try out some piece of technology that would show up in a normal car in 5 years.

    Chrysler has been in a weak position for decades...and as such, has become prey for those who wanted to use it for entrance into the American market, like Mercedes and Stellantis. The bonus for Dodge was its connection with Jeep. With Jeep sales down, it's not as attractive, so eventually I predict Stellantis will bail out and Dodge will be left on its own. And then it will truly go bankrupt.

    If they put lip sick on a pig EV, it's still a pig EV. Does Stellantis even care about CDJR? Or are they trying to destroy the brand?
    Remember when Chrysler came out with the turbine car? It was great! - really ugly but a great idea. Never caught on.
    If just attempting to say Ford or Mustang makes you want to puke, how are you going to drive it? You'll have to have one hand on the wheel and the other hand holding a barf bag. I don't care if it has a V8, it's a Mustang.

    You mean you never wanted to know what constellation you're looking at. Also an EV you don't have to charge. How about complete Autonomous driving. I guess an updated Chrysler 300 is out of the question. If these dumb ass people had a clue they would have given us a new 300, even with the turbo 6 would make sense. I've always thought the 300 was awesome but never really advertised to give it a chance. RIP Chrysler.

    Why would you trade in a car you love for one that the thought of makes you throw up in your mouth? Keep driving you Swinger.
