Alex, we all understand how life gets in the way when making you’re plans, so absolutely no need to stress about an erratic upload schedule! Just glad to see whenever you post a new one! 🔧👍
Hy Alex, greetings from Germany and as always thanks for sharing this video with us. I am always surprised what lack of care these engines can handle. Just sent you this comment at minute 21:51 and will now watch the rest of it. Bye for now and see you soon again 👍🌞🍀
Brother every single piece of lawn equipment you do turns out ridiculously awesome. You are an incredible mechanic. I know it's hard for you sometimes to do these videos, so I wanna thank you for all the hard work you do for us!!!! You're killing it my friend
You are an artist, my friend. This one looks great. My current project may turn out like this one did once I finish it. I need a flywheel (part # 215700) for it, but I can't find one for a price that fits the budget for a Yard Machines riding mower from 2007 that also needs a stator, breather tube, and a few other parts, lol. It cleaned up beautifully though. It looks almost brand new, despite sitting out in the weather for several years. It didn't have many hours on it before the flywheel magnets let go.
Alex, thats a sweet running tractor. It should be very dependable with the new spindles and a good carb. My opinion is its worth every cent of what your asking. Thanks for another great video! 👍👏🇺🇸
Wow, Alex! I just learned something really useful from you and you didn’t even know it! Every time you’re driving a zero turn you do it with one hand so you can hold the camera or do something else. I always assumed that would be more difficult than with two hands. I’ve been working on my first ZT for weeks and just got it out of the garage to test run it. After a while I tried steering with one hand and realized I have much more precise control that way in tight spaces!!! I’m sure most people who work on zero turns already knew this but I wish someone would have mentioned it once in a while! Still have some tuning to do, among other things, but this first ZT seems to be coming along fine. 🔧👍
Yep. I have a Craftsman with a 54 inch deck. I decided to put new spindles on it, and I broke 11 out of the 12 spindle bolts trying to take them off. They were no match for my impact, but I was even breaking them by hand. The new spindles came with new ones, but I went and got some grade 8 bolts from my local hardware store. Maybe these won't seize up as badly.
That mower looked pretty rough at the beginning. It just needed a little love. Hope everything is going well off camera. life gets busy with a young family and all. Take care and thank you.
hi alex great video. just got one myself, girlfriends aunt wanted it gone, have it to idle and run great at mow setting any higher it dies out, New battery plug fuel lines deck removed(pile of crap spindles frozen), 17.5 horse in it. think a new carb
Everything I’ve seen on these tractors recently indicates to me that they were actually pretty well built and easy to work on. For those reasons I wouldn’t be inclined to price them too low. Add to that the actual condition of this one and I think $500 isn’t out of line as it is now. Personally, I would have gone the rest of the way and taken care of the hood, in which case I’d price it at $600. Prices for new machines have gone up so much in the past two years I think we all need to bear that in mind and price used machines commensurate with the market. Of course perception is everything, so making sure they are visually as clean and polished as possible is a necessity.
Awesome video! Just wanted to toss you a little tip about cleaning or rebuilding carburetors. When you're done put some WD-40 in the fuel Inlet and shake the carburetor up and down and then put a little bit more in and it usually stops the flooding issue, and the added bonus is it will keep things from sticking if you can't get the carb installed and in use right away. The old craftsman turned out just fine and you won't have any trouble getting what you want out of it.
Outstanding video! I have an old green craftsman tractor like this that I am preparing to restore. Thanks so much for the great tips and step by step techniques to restore it. Where did you purchase the seat cover in this video? Thanks for your help and keep up the great work:)
That starter solenoid connector off was a head scratcher for me. If I thought it vibrated off I’d squeeze it a bit with pliers to make it as tight as possible. That said, I think someone disconnected it for some reason and just forgot to reconnect. It’s also possible someone used that as a way to disable the machine so it couldn’t be stolen without a struggle.
Electrical issues with this mower plus the seat is not looking great plus rust and sized up blade spindles equals a bit of work on this one but you will get it fixed and running again Alex
Robert it's always good to see you commenting on several channels as well as Alex's . I always read all your comments as they are always positive and I feel you try to promote great channels as I do!!! 👏😉🇺🇸
If the engine is good it will make a good mower again after a lot of work and few parts They sale better every year now 😊😊so I’m in no hurry to sale them 😮
My current project has a Nikki carb, and the shutoff solenoid was actually seized, and I could not free it up. That's a new one. I am working on this one for someone else so I could not delete it, and it was seized to the bowl anyway. Thankfully, I had a bowl and shutoff solenoid in my parts stash.
i have had many issues with shipping problems and delays this season, also noticed in early july that many spindle sellers tripled the cost overnight for some unknown reason.... :(
I’m having issues with that tensioner pulley being hung up on the deck too. I watched through the video and saw you using the grease, I could swear I saw another video with you mentioning extra washers to prevent hanging up. Is that right or is it just me?
Good afternoon I have the exact mower that you just repaired and I noticed the cutting deck did not have any Wheels on the rear, I wonder if Craftsman eliminated the wheels? My unit is a 1999 LT 1000
I have a lot more experience with the Nikki version of this carb since it is much more common on the machines I work on, but regardless, they are a pain in the ass and the kits are uber expensive. When I have to replace one of these pieces of junk, I usually replace it with a clone, since they can be had for 1/15th of the price. I tear the OEM carbs down and save everything that I can. I have built up a respectable parts stash at this point, but it kills me when I have to break down and buy a kit for one of them. The shutoff solenoids are a pain in the ass too. I install the fuel shutoff solenoid delete package on any of them I work on. Just get a shallow bolt that is the correct thread pitch, and you don't have to deal with it anymore. When I first started working on stuff, I had a machine with a brand new carb that would not run no matter what I did to it. I fought it for weeks before I figured out that the brand new shutoff solenoid was defective. After that, I just started deleting them.
Well some buy them and there to big, then they sale them and go back to the riding mower 😊 Zero turn is good for a very large yard but not for normal lawn
I think your price guestimate is on the high end for the condition. will probably need a good amount of parts which would justify $500. But I get a little worried if they have too much rust. But I would really like to know how you get so many views on what is a mediocre tractor. Don't get me wrong, those are my favorite mowers to fix and resell.
Alex, we all understand how life gets in the way when making you’re plans, so absolutely no need to stress about an erratic upload schedule! Just glad to see whenever you post a new one! 🔧👍
Alex, It's worth $ 500 all day long. Nice Job !!!
Yep, I really like these older craftsman’s too, pretty simple to work on
I try to buy every one I can and I pay better than most 😊

Please do more of these long form videos. I watch these all day at work with my AirPods in. Love it man! Keep up the good work
Perfect amount of restoration for that LT1000. Nice work Alex!

Just subscribed. My son and I started a channel flipping mowers. We'll be uploading our first video soon.
Good luck, wish I had time to video myself but to busy and not enough time 😢
Another excellent video. Thank you for posting.
55min vid! Woo hoo!🎉
I’m having a happy day now
Great job and thanks for sharing! :)
Looks like a three hundred fifty dollar mower to me. Good video!
If it’s painted up and deck rebuilt and all new belts with good tires
It’s 500 any day here or 75 more 😮
Alex, looking good with the Crafty.!!!
wow, excellent work. Looks like a great rider now.
You did a good job on this one alex👍👍
Good video Alex. put a set of wheels on the deck .it would make it much better.
Electrical issues with this mower plus the seat is not looking great plus rust and sized up blade spindles equals a bit of work on this one but you will get it fixed and running again Alex

@@rogermcdonald1607 👍 I do my best to be a nice person 😊
Hey man I love the videos! But if you could tell us what they actually sold for that would he great! I started doing this because of you! Keep it up!
Mowers like this sell for $250. On Facebook in my area. Sometimes they sit for more than a year.
I would buy all of them with v engine 😊
Excellent job.
I completely rebuilt the deck and new spindles brg on all that I sale and I add grease zest also 😊
If the engine is good it will make a good mower again after a lot of work and few parts
They sale better every year now 😊😊so I’m in no hurry to sale them 😮
Alex I was wondering where I can get some blade breaks at I'm having trouble finding them I would appreciate if you can let me know thanks
Sears direct parts or stens

The Failteks have a bad rep, but I have always had good luck with them. I have yet to come across one that I couldn't get running.
Take a heat gun to the rubber wheel caps, does wonders!!!

Where did you get the short seat cover ??? All I find are really for tall back seats

I have a Lt 2000 n it won't shift Into reverse, the lever it hard to put on reverse, what can it be, any help boss
Do you feel that buyers are preferring zero turns over basic riders these days?
Well some buy them and there to big, then they sale them and go back to the riding mower 😊

Graphite for high contamination areas. Especially when you know nobody will address that mower deck again.
How much did you sell the craftsman with the Honda motor for ?
Don’t think I’ll sell that one.
Where are you from.I am from the Verbena, Alabama area
Eastern North Carolina here.
Don’t look right without the beard
Well it’s stopped raining and the sicko kids started killing 😢
Why don’t you just buy new tires if needs them ?
@@johnyeager8664 normally you can get a few more years out of them after putting ATF in the tires to rehydrate the rubber.
@@freedommowers420 I don’t blame you
