I recently picked up a 1994 craftsman gt6000 that was used as a towing machine. It has been sitting for around 10 years. Lets see what it takes to get this vintage garden tractor running again.

What a score for the Freedom fleet! Those Magnum opposed engines were made to last. They definitely don’t make tractors like that anymore.

Riding 110 miles tonight to go pick one up exactly like this I found on market place for $150.00, and it starts and runs. Has broken hood pin, needs belts and a little TLC, but it has ag tires plus a spare set of turf grabbers and rims

I brought back a 17 year old battery that had been sitting for 9 years. It held the charge for a week on the shelf and held at 11 under load. I charged it for four days using three different methods. I jumped it off with a good battery to establish a base charge, trickle charge it for three days, and then fast charged it for one. They will surprise your sometimes. The battery in my daily driver is 11 years old, and the one in my favorite mower is five years old. Don't ever count them out due to age. Always give it a shot. You never know.

Super cool video! I have the 94 w/ Kohler Command 23 HP. I found it on CL for $350. I wanted it for it's 50" deck, to replace the one on my 2000 green GT3000. It also came w/ a heavy 48" snow blade, wheel weights, an extra set of back AG tires/wheels & it's original manual in it's plastic bag. It was only used to plow a driveway in the winter, which in Western Washington, it doesn't snow often or usually very much. It's deck was never used. So, now my GT6000 is my favorite for mowing & moving firewood; I use it throughout the year. It hauls ass, is a much smoother ride than my newer GT3000 & the massive snout on it makes me feel like I'm cruising around my property & neighborhood on a big hog. It's an absolute tank & handles hills & slopes so well.
I hope you keep this one; it's a workhorse & that winch is bomb! I love it's 6-speed, too. It was fun to watch you get it started after sitting so long & it sounds great! Can't wait for your follow-up video. Thanks!

Alex, I’ve seen you use your fuel bottle multiple times. I actually use 2-stroke as well, but in a small pump sprayer bottle. The way I figure it, the pump sprayer somewhat atomizes the fuel, plus the sprayer is really shooting fuel all the way through the intake into the cylinder, so the odds are better that the engine will actually get fuel where it needs it and can combust the fuel more readily.

You may want to check/change the oil in the transmission. The fill/add is behind the left rear wheel- they take straight 30 weight with no additives. I am very jealous of the winch/3 point hitch set up. If you can please show a little more of how that all works and what it is attached to. Thank you for sharing.

I love these old GT models. I quick fix to get fuel to the carb is to use the air compressor and a rag to push the fuel to the fuel pump. If you have an issue with the tractor not priming the pump after sitting you can add a pressure bulb from a boat tank to prime as needed. I added one to my daughter’s tractor and after sitting all winter the bulb primed the line and the tractor fired right up.

That is absolutely no way that it can weight 2000 lb!!!
It's a well-known fact that if you keep misusing a word that it no longer has any meaning whatsoever and it's a waste of time to even use it!!!
I'm sure that lots of people get sick and tired of people using words that have no meaning whatsoever!
Far too many words in our language have already lost all meaning!
You can use phrases like "a lot" or "a bunch" but to say a ton has no meaning whatsoever any more.
But to keep misusing words just further destroys their meaning altogether.
You might as well be saying blah blah because it has the same meaning!
